I seem to be the rare person who is not impressed with New York governor Andrew Cuomo’s philosopher-governor act. The other day, I disagreed here with his “new normal” prescription that I believe calls for a less-vibrant America.
In his latest escapade, a reporter asked the governor about whether he understands the fear and pain of protestors who want to get back to work. No, he does not. From the transcript as reported by the Washington Examiner:
“What if someone commits suicide because they can’t pay their bills?” the reporter asked the governor Wednesday.

No he isn't. It's sad that very few public officials are. They impose draconian edicts on us, but they are insulated from the effects. It's a small thing, but Mayor Lightfoot's getting her hair cut while we are not able to, shows how petty most of them are.

Cuomo is too busy justifying his draconian solution to consider that he may be wrong.
Trump has always made it clear that he HATES shutting down the economy but didn't feel he had a choice given what the "experts" were predicting. As it turns out, the "experts" were wrong. The Imperial College London model predicted as many as 22 million U.S. deaths, at least 2 orders of magnitude above what is now likely. That extreme projection could not be ignored before we had enough data to know better. Now we do.
But Cuomo is still making things up. Maybe he is thinking he can hide the general economic collapse of New York due to liberal mismanagement inside the fallout from the virus? Maybe he is working on getting more $$ from Washington? Maybe he is just a stupid, pompous jerk with poor understanding of the situation? Maybe all that and more.

When I read this headline I wasn't going to read the article--same old China virus in NY story, I've seen enough of them. The article had many good points included:
1) The virus is bad but not equal to death, most recover.
2) The lock down can be damaging to some people's psyche which can result in deaths.
3) Getting an "essential job" is not possible for most people.
4) To "flatten the curve" does not reduce lives lost, it only allows the medical people an opportunity to handle the afflicted (with limited results, it appears).
5) A vaccine is not imminent, vaccines for viruses are rare and ones for the flu, for example, are not very effective because viruses mutate to forms not affected by antibodies derived from the vaccine.
6) The ruling class have trouble with empathy--let them eat cake (or ice cream).
Thanks to the author, Mr. Smith, and poster for sharing.

The Democrats think this guy is wonderful—no kidding! But having observed this family from Mario the Pious to the present, Andrew is every bit as mean and uncaring as his father. That line about getting an essential job is over the top. Let me know if this man has ever said a kind word about anything or SMILED.

A. Cuomo, as well as Fredo, is the product of political affirmative action: Also known as privilege, money, and political connections. Otherwise, they would not even be considered for the job they have, or many others as well.

Governor Jackboots is anything but compassionate. He is a supporter of suicides, sneering at people after they complain about being thrown into economic misery, supports infanticide at any point and is a complete corrupted crook. But the one thing he is not is compassionate. He is also a pathetic whiner if the WH and taxpayers don't want to clean up his messes after he causes massive problems for his state.

He's a democrat, so anything bad is automatically someone else's fault. I wish someone would ask him where all of NYs inventoried ventilators went, that he had to cry fo more. Leveraging every death in order to obtain more federal dollars is not good governing. I believe if an elevator dropped 50 floors and killed a dozen people trapped inside, this grifter would attribute their deaths to the Covid-19 virus.

back around 1994, when Hideous Hillary Clinton was pushing health insurance reform known as Hillarycare, she made a presentation in Cleveland, Ohio in a townhall sort of format.
A young woman had a question for Hillary.
"I sell health insurance. Under your reform, I would lose my job. What about me?"
Hillary sneered at the young woman and said, dismissively, "Surely an intelligent young woman like yourself could find another job!"
Little Andrew is no different than hideous Hillary. Satan has both in his grasp.

I WISH a member of the so-called media would ask Commissar Cuomo this :
Governor, you come out here EVERY day and drone on about how contagious the covid is...
...and you scare countless millions with your warnings of how deadly it is ...
...and therefore, you decree the state MUST be shut down in order to SAVE LIVES...
...yet ...you rule over the worst hotspot in America ...New York City ...??
...isn't a BIG part of this because you CHOOSE to leave the subways open ??
...oh, we know ...you say the subway HAS to be open ...to allow "essential people" to get to work...( running take -out delis and liquor stores in Manhattan)
...BUT ...then, aren't you really saying you are ACCEPTING that your rulings will allow SOME people to die?...
...Governor...tell us....what is your acceptable number of deaths ??

It seems to me that the underlying theme here is being lost. Maybe I'm too cynical but from the democrat's perspective isn't the main purpose of the shutdown to eliminate Trump? The response to the virus has been hyped by the media and the democrats for maximum negative effect against Trump's success. Opening too soon will negate that effect and allow Trump to recover before November. Democrats really don't care what happens to the people as long as they achieve their political goals. They're all about party before country.

Governor Cuomo claims that if you if you get the virus that you will die. He forgets that not everyone that ends up in the hospital dies. That none of the people that get mild symptoms die from it. That none of the people that have no symptoms die from it.
Yet, "if you get the virus that you will die," is his rational for the lockdown of the state.
