A Kentucky church defied coronavirus-lockdown orders to hold a packed Easter Sunday service — despite a heavy police presence and even nails blocking the parking lots, according to a report.
Maryville Baptist Church appeared to have a near-full house for its Sunday service despite orders to avoid in-person services — and the heightened risk of catching COVID-19, the Louisville Courier Journal said.
Worshippers arrived even after police warned that they would record their car plates to force them into 14-day quarantines.
Many — including the defiant pastor, Rev. Jack Roberts — arrived with their plates covered, with officers instead recording their VIN numbers, the paper said.

Americans have always been rebels. Ask George III. We'll accept a lot to help keep our neighbors safe and help others in a crisis but there is a limit that we will accept being under the thumb of tinpot local dictators who are enjoying their little surge of power. It's time that certain areas of this country should be opened back up or these little Stalins are going to have an unpleasant surprise.

Another example of why people need to be armed. All the talk about the local police, the military and the National Guard siding with the populace is a pipe dream. Look at this example, and a few more, plus Ruby Ridge, Waco, Elan Gonzales and Kent State, to name a few!

The usual "hero" cop response is "there's nothing I can do." Why is this any different than past practices?

Absolutely disgusting. Absolutely diabolical. See what you get when you elect a Democrat Governor or Mayor. Perhaps through this ugly time, many eyes will be opened. And yes, this is why the 2A is so important. Without it, God know what they would do.

This governor is making sure he only gets one term, and possibly a recall when the state reopens.

This was one of the worst cases of over reaction during this whole COVID-19 thing. There's NO threat to anyone from this except the stupid cops who got out of their cars to write tickets.

"I was just following orders." Kentucky State Police might as well say that. It worked for other folks somewhere over in Europe many years ago... until it didn't.

Just out of curiosity, are Muslims being kept from their daily Call to Prayer, or anything else?

Watch Mel Gibson's 'The Patriot' to see what can happen when jack-booted minions of a tyrannical government surround a church full of 'rebels'.

Don't dare push us....we are already at the tipping point of obeying our government's suggestions.
A heavy hand is not a good option in this democracy.

I'd like to think that those nails that were swept up in the church parking lot ended up in the Kentucky State Police parking lot tonight

This is why it is a bad idea to worship anyone as a hero.
We keep saying Americans wont take this, but we always take it. There is nothing left of the Bill Of Rights. Every single "right" has been limited to where it exists only at the convenience of government.
We will take it because we are sheep. I wish it were not so.

FTA: an order several worshippers told the Courier Journal that they planned to ignore.
It's about time there's some push back. Bullies don't give up until they get knocked on their ass.

Just when you thought they could not go any lower. One by one every freedom this country was founded on will disappear-especially if you keep electing Dems.
Rev. Martin Niemoller comes to mind here.

Why are these states know-towing to the DNC's desire to turn this country into a communist paradise? Is KY another run of the mill DNC commie run state? They've already attacked the lst Amd (freedom of religion, right to assemble), the 2nd Amd (guns), the 4th Amd (FISA, etc.), and portions of other Amds. Do voters think if they can only get more freebees, their movements and desires won't be restricted? Are they that stupid? Oh wait, with public education indoctrination, they are.
