A licensed physician in Utah said on Sunday that he is unable to prescribe hydroxychloroquine because the state has taken over distribution of the drug.
Dr. Bill MD, is “trained extensively in diagnosis and treatment of human disease.” (snip) Dr. Bill opened his private practice at 26, hired 4 medical doctors, a PA, and 12 nurses growing to one of the largest private family Practices in Utah.
Dr. Bill also built the 6 medical office buildings in a 10-year span housing his practice in 3 of those buildings.

This is an old, safe drug. It was first developed to fight malaria, then also used for certain autoimmune diseases. A full course of treatment, with a z-pack, would be less than $100. Why is this even controversial? We are in crisis. There will be no vaccine for a year or more. We need all available tools now. What is going on?

You are correct, #1. I watch the Surgeon General squirm and spin when asked direct questions about this drug. I watched a former FDA Commissioner get that uncomfortable, let’s change the subject look when he was with Tucker on Friday night. There is something very odd going on.

I’m sure the Fed can lean heavy on the state by threatening to withhold all government funding from D.C. if they don’t let the medical community have the life/saving drug.

Our Governor Herbert is a total open borders, never Trump jerk. He's still shutting the state down little by little. I'm glad this scam is coming to an end soon. The Governors and Mayors have been just awful. Their greed for federal money is unquenchable. They never ever stop.

All part of all governments taking control of commerce and the private sector. Because there are so many pharmacists and drug store managers and drug supply chain logistics experts within the Utah State government system, I am sure they can do a much better job.

Are the marching orders from Schumer-Pelosi to these hack liberal governors to let people not be treated and die?
In order to somehow tarnish President Trump?
Sure looks and smells like a ‘RAT (D)!!!!

Listening to the way the experts are answering I think they are deflecting. Fauci keeps saying we need massive clinical trials to be sure. That is not the same as saying it doesn't work. I think they are pretty sure it works and are accumulating a sufficient stock to treat the critical cases plus preventative doses for the high risk population. Then they may announce yes they believe it works.

Do pharmacists now have to know the diagnosis of the patient? Are lupus patients denied the drug? Of not, diagnose the patient with lupus and an accompanying sinus infection. I guess that would be unethical, and would be considered more like a M*A*S*H diagnosis if any of you remember that old TV series.

The plan is to administer hydroxychloroquine only when it is too late, then use the deaths after hydroxychloroquine to discredit the treatment. ANYTHING to poke a stick in Trump's eye.

I'll bet any Mormon, infected with COVID-19 can easily get hydroxychloroquine in a heart beat if their tithing is up to date.

In Utah the gov't (read, the LDS church) has taken control of this medication's distribution. Just for their own, perhaps?
