Before the coronavirus had reached the Pleasant View Nursing Home in the small Maryland town of Mount Airy, the home’s administrator asked the state health department what she should be doing about the threat.
Some of Rebecca Travels’ staff worked second jobs at other nursing homes, she said, and she wanted to hedge against an outbreak. Nursing care facilities in other states had been hit hard, and she feared for her older residents — who live four to a room. [snip] Less than a week later, five of her 95 residents are dead.

Did I see the word Baltimore somewhere in here ? Are they blaming Trump ? Hey Baltimore, Lets play statistic games. Statistics is the shortest distance between an unwarranted assumption and a foregone conclusion.
It is only early April. How many people in Baltimore have died from the VIRUS ?
How many people have died from gunshot wounds ?
Maybe you should lock down (up) anybody who lives in a "high crime" district and not allow them to assemble in groups (gangs) of more than ten. Gosh, the right of assembly is in the FIRST amendment.
Yep, this freedom thing can spread like wildfire.

KISS...keep it simple stupid , an acronym the FDA and CDC never pondered .Instead of the testing already being used by European nations ,our ever faithful bureaucrats decide on their own razzle dazzle test. Big time dud uh- oh...! back to the drawing board ! Two months down the drain.

"Testing" failures is the last hobbyhorse available to the left in this situation -- the myth that "testing" could have nipped this virus in the bud. That's their critique of the president. No matter that CDC, an incompetent bureaucracy, bungled test production. It's all on Trump. Testing! Testing! Why can't we be like valiant Communist China (who, as we all know, vanquished Coronavirus without any damage.)
But there's an obvious fallacy to the poignant account of this nurse. Is there any reason to believe the patients who died would have lived if they could get sense-certainconfirmation of their infection?
A bull----t article.

When all around you is going to pieces, blame the federal government and the president…
When Baltimore is doing the blaming I think of too many crazies in that city for this to be credible..

I call BS on this. Treat all cases which seem to be Wuhan flu with quarantine, and if the patient needs specific care in a hospital, to that. There is no specific treatment for Wuhan flu at this point which is different than flu, or flu with pneumonia, so the information may be interesting, but unrelated to what the doc will do.
At the point where there is a specific Wuhan flu medicine, hopefully fairly soon, it may BECOME important to have testing, but the reality has been that testing, while interesting from a statistical standpoint, does NOT produce a branching in medical procedures.

Whine whine whine. If only the federal government could have come in and wiped our little butts.
Well guess what. The feds didn't have a solution at the time you needed it. It was the feds rules that tied up alternative testing methods. So wishing for help from the feds is pointless.
Trump inherited a big economic mess from Obama. He made great progress fixing that but lets face it, it will take years. You can tear something down real fast but building it takes a lot of time.
So now Trump has the fix the mess that is the CDC and the FDA.
Thanks a lot Obama.
And if Pelosi and company will stop trying to impeach him he can get on with it. But beware Mrs Pelosi. One of the things he is trying to fix is corruption in the government and that's how you made your fortune. No wonder you want to impeach him!

Keep in mind that The Sun is a Trump hating ultra left wing publication. I haven’t read it in years but a couple of months ago they had a special for the e edition 6 months for $1 that I took advantage of. After about a week I realized why I stopped reading it. Also while listening to local talk radio found out that the nursing home had less than good ratings from Medicare.

My elderly mother-in-law in Massachusetts is in a nursing home, where, two weeks + ago NO visitors allowed, not even her sons. Then she needed hospitalization for something which could have been fatal, but NO visitors. The administrators in both institutions are clearly employing strict standards of care and prevention. Doesn't sound like the Maryland folks did the same.

Stories like this will be the next "cluster". Everything, every misfire is the fault of the Feds (Trump). No blame to the state even though they said "it's a waste of resources".

Mt. Airy is in Maryland, but the state is so small that almost any place in the state is close to Baltimore. In this case, Mt Airy is about an hours drive away from Baltimore. Also, remember this was a nursery home which means old people with health issues. Also, Maryland is using the virus tests which need to go through a lab before getting the results. This means it takes days before someone who is tested will get their results. The only good thing for Baltimore, is that the virus has cut down on the murders. Which if the virus hadn't come along, more people would be dead as a result of gun shots than people who have tested positive for the virus.

So, the state told you that giving you test kits was a waste of resources, but somehow that's a national failure. That's because the state is run by a Democrat and as we all know...Democrats walk on water.

Interesting assessment and analysis, but apportionment of blame tends in a certain, uh, predictable direction.
