At this Wednesday’s press briefing by President Trump and his Coronavirus Task Force, President Trump was asked one of the most insulting questions that he has ever been asked during his presidency--and that’s saying something. A “reporter” wanted to know, “how many deaths are acceptable?” The president’s response was firm and direct: “How many? None. Okay? How many deaths are acceptable to me? None. Okay? None, if that’s your question.”(Snip)The “existing system” has been turned upside down to save as many lives as possible and the livelihoods of millions of Americans when they are finally able to go back to work

Comments:

Democrat President Woodrow Wilson disregarded medical advice during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic by hiding the truth about the outbreak from the public. Because of President Wilson ramming through Congress the Sedition Act, “the press did not adequately warn the public about the disease and dangers of large social gatherings.” In Philadelphia, the death toll was around 114,500; following a large war bond parade in the fall, there was “an explosion of the disease in the city within 48 hours.”

President Trump has been ridiculed by the mainstream media for his claim about people committing suicide due to “terrible economies.” Fact Check: History has shown that there is a correlation between economic conditions and suicides as evidenced during the Great Depression (1929-1933), as well as the recession of “the end of the New Deal (1937-1938), the oil crisis (1973-1975), and the double-dip recession (1980-1982).” Studies from England, Italy and the United States reported a rise in suicides during the 2008-2010 Great Recession.

I have really been impressed with how Trump can respond to media questions, and seems to have a command of so much information. I haven't seen anybody else that can match him.

Trump is exactly right about the possibility of suicide. I've mentioned here before that we lost everything under Obama, in part because he did nothing to stimulate the economy, but mostly because he micromanaged whole sections of the economy. He stole Chrysler dealerships from long time owners causing a glut of mechanics that had nowhere to go. Then he hung "Obamacare" over employers heads causing them to effectively "shut down" for years. Don't even get me started on his micromanaging of the banks regarding foreclosures. The unbelievable rules and restrictions threw gasoline on that crisis and resulted in unnecessary loss of homes. At least Trump (a businessman who has had to make payroll) understands the effects of this shutdown on people. I do believe my Faith will keep me from doing anything rash but I know there are others who will refuse to go though that nightmare ever again.

Please excuse a second post but maybe President Trump should ask them "How many murders committed by illegal criminal foreign nationals are acceptable for the Democrats?" Or "How many opioid deaths are acceptable as the result of open borders?" Or "Why are 4,000 abortions a day acceptable in a country like ours?"

If you had asked Eisenhower on D Day how many deaths were acceptable to him he would have said the same thing, “none.” But in war we accept the unacceptable because to do nothing would be worse.

Chinese officials, desperate to recast the country as a global leader that has conquered the coronavirus, have been saying that its death rates are decreasing in the city of Wuhan. The problem, residents say, is that the numbers don't add up.(Snip)Despite China's propaganda pushers being all smiles for the international community, residents told Radio Free Asia that Beijing's claims that there were only 2,500 deaths in Wuhan is far from reality. For more than a week, seven large funeral homes that serve Wuhan have been handing out the cremated remains of about 500 people to their families every day.

Wuhan locals claim coronavirus has killed 42,000 people in the city alone, more than ten times the national figure claimed by Chinese authorities. The killer bug, which originated in Wuhan in China's Hubei Province has claimed the lives of 3,300 people and infected more than 81,000. Of those, 3,182 deaths were reported in Hubei Province. But residents in Wuhan claim 500 urns have been handed out to grieving families every day from seven separate funeral homes all serving the city. This means the ashes of 3,500 people are distributed every 24 hours.
