Republicans and Democrats in the U.S. Senate on Saturday scrambled to complete a deal on a $1 trillion-plus bill aimed at stemming the coronavirus pandemic’s economic fallout for workers, industries and small businesses. But after a second day of marathon closed-door negotiations, there was no sign of an overarching deal between negotiators, despite Republicans’ claims of bipartisan agreement on specific issues including unemployment insurance and small business assistance.
“The past two days of intense bipartisan talks are very close to a resolution,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who intends to hold a vote to pass the sprawling package on Monday.

No sign of a deal yet they are "racing." My money is on turtle #15 who has a quarter-inch lead.

It's taking a while because they have to find ways to make PORK not sound like PORK. Politicians are very good at wasting OUR money to get themselves reelected: Job 1.

This feels a lot like the Venezuelan economic model. Why only $1000/person? I vote for $1,000,000/per. What could go wrong?

Guaranteed massive pork hidding in this, totally unrelated to anything to do with the current medical situation. A certainty.

What a load of B.S. Instead of re-opening businesses and letting people get back to work, these commie clowns, Republicans and Democrats alike, are "racing" to issue mere pittances of our money to the masses. The only thing these Congress creeps know what to do is spend our hard earned money and strip us of our God given rights all the while bankrupting our country.
This whole Coronovirus terror has become a vehicle to impose a totalitarian rule over all of us by the Federal and State. Governors, Republicans and Democrat communists alike, are using this as an excuse to tell us where we can go and what we can do, and whipping up our fellow citizens into a panic frenzy. How much longer is illegal government mandated lock down going to last? At some point we must institute civil disobedience to make these politicians realize there is a limit for Americans. How come Germany, South Korea, and Japan have been able to deal with the Chinese corona virus and yet keep their economy working?
President Trump needs to wake up and realize he is playing directly into the hands of his and our enemies.
Freedom and Justice must be restored.

I am concerned that the 'riot looting' that is happening on Capital Hill is as unprecedented as the event itself.
I'm also not too pleased with the Chinese withholding information for 6-8 weeks that could have put the World six to eight weeks further down the road on this....but we'll get to the at some other time.
I'm losing Patience with critical partisans. Bannon is saying some logical things. We're not going to get everything right...but we need to do something. Adjustments canand will need to be made.

For a flu that has killed fewer than 300 people. Is ANYONE in government going to say, "enough"? Because if We The People have to do it, they won't like result.

when the stimulus bill moved forward, in 2008, Nancy Pelosi scored 25 million dollars for her congressional district - for tattoo removal!
It will be interesting to see what is snuck into this bill./ The baby killers over at Planned Parenthood are fighting for their share, aren't they?

The trouble with politicians is they throw money at problems, in all directions, instead of working on just the problem, and the people impacted by that problem. Everybody has rushed to the money spigot to get some it. They may have to, otherwise they will be the only ones left with the bills.

Oh yes they must spend over a Trillion $ right NOW or people will die. Sadly I know that you or I or anyone we know will see a penny of it. But go ahead and make yourselves feel good about doing something.

They are still waiting for everyone's goody list before they make the final bill. Better check those 'In' boxes one more time.
