With thousands of movies to choose from, and a navigation system and algorithm that don’t always make the right choice easy to find, it can be difficult to know what to watch on Netflix. That’s why we’re here, breaking down the 100 best movies on the service at this minute, with regular updates for titles that have been removed and when new ones are added. We’ve done the hard work, so now the only thing you have to do is sit back and, uh, watch all 100 movies. (And if you’re more of a TV person, check out the 50 best TV shows on Netflix.)
Those of us who dropped Netflix because of their gay Jesus show have alternatives to Netflix!! TCM, Godtv, NRB (Christian messages and shows), our DVD's, etc.

Sadly, New York Magazine doesn't realize there are some movies a conservative Christian would not watch even for free. Many on this list make my "No-Watch" list.

My current list would include each of the Kendrick brothers' films, the latest being, ''Overcomer.'' ...Even that title is just what we need right now.

We gave up Netflix and Amazon Prime for Lent; I was a total binge watcher. Now I read books or watch inspirational movies on the Catholic channel, Formed. Amazed at the peace in our home.
On another note, I wouldn't be interested in anything the NY Magazine suggests.
Agree with #1, love Endeavour on BBC. It was brilliant for them to go back in time from Morse. We also enjoy Lewis, who carried on after Morse passed away. Longmire also great.

I loved “Poldark” on PBS, the Hanna (a series based on the movie of the same name), the Jack Ryan series on Amazon Prime, and another series called The Last Kingdom” on Netflix. The latter involves the reign of Alfred in Medieval England when they were fighting the Danes for survival.

P.S. The general manager of the Met announced in response to performance cancellations they are offering free encore performances via web stream beginning tonight at 7:30.

Redbox has movies online and their DVD rental boxes are everywhere. If you don't rent a lot of movies it might make more sense rather than to pay the $10-15 a month.
Waiting for 1917, should be out next week.

If you have Netflix, you're missing out if you don't check some of their Korean dramas they offer. Sure, there are subtitles, but after a minute, you don't even realize you're reading them. Prison Playbook, One Spring Night, Itaewon Class, Heaven's Garden, Operation Proposal are good for starters. And if Netflix brings back "Descendants of the Sun" --- that's a can't miss, also.

Roma is an excellent movie that premiered on Netflix. It's still there. See if if you still subscribe.

There are actually a lot of wonderful movies on this list....as well as a lot I wouldn't touch.
So there's definitely something for everyone.
For starters, Ex Machina and The Lives of Others are each very special gems, in their own ways.
Thanks, #1 and others for lots of interesting recommendations!

There are some wonderful movies free on Youtube. I recently watched The Old Curiosity Shop (1995) - a Charles Dickens story. Wonderfully made movie. I've also recently watched all the old Dr. Kildare movies (pre- Richard Chamberlain) - a surprise to me that they were actually quite well written, for essentially soap opera type stories. You can also rent or buy movies from Youtube very inexpensively. I've gone quite a few years not seeing movies so there's a ton to catch up on.

Ok, while we're trying to avoid crowds and there are no sports on television and the Met has suspended the season, maybe a list of new and older films is something of value. I liked this list and have printed it.
