I found myself thinking over the weekend that with Joe Biden now favored to win the nomination, it won’t be long before the press starts the quadrennial veepstakes ritual. And yesterday—boom!—it arrived in spades. The coronavirus may be spreading worldwide, Wall Street may be having a bloodbath, and Biden has yet to beat Bernie Sanders in Michigan and other key states. But nothing stops the VP speculation. There’s an added twist this year, which is the widespread expectation—and, in some quarters, demand—that the Democratic running mate will be a woman.

This is typical. Democrats don't really stand for much and when you read or hear about Joe Biden, the only thing he stands for is his pocketbook. Democrats use identity politics because there really is no substance and the selection of VP runs along the same lines. They have to use identity politics to sell the candidate. . .

Biden or any Democrat needs white males to win. The gender gap isn't about women but about the white males that have abandon the Dem party. Picking a women just because of her genitalia isn't going to capture men votes.

"In the end, running mates don’t matter all that much. Donald Trump didn’t win because of Mike Pence, Hillary Clinton didn’t lose because of Tim Kaine, and Barack Obama didn’t win because of Biden. But given Biden’s age and the Democratic hunger for a woman on the ticket, whoever gets the nod might matter more this year than in the recent past." Whoever gets the not this year from Biden matters a lot! It is not likely Biden (if elected) would be able to finish one term let alone two so, that makes it likely his VP would become president and there are some pretty scary names on that list. I expect Trump to win but, crazier things have happened.

It doesn't matter who the Democrats nominate for President and Vice President. They have to show they can GOVERN. The Democrats have failed miserably on that. Trump isn't like BushII, McCain, or Romney who all conveniently rolled over for the Democrats. The Democrats tried to impeach Trump, and that failed as well. Now the Democrats are resorting to scare tactics like the coronavirus and the stock market. That will fail as well when people recognize the scare tactics do not coincide with reality. 2020 is going to be a very long year for Democrats, and they deserve it. They pandered to every radical cause out there, and they have taken over the party. The Democratic party is so far out in left field they are no longer in the same ballpark. The Democratic party has lost touch with reality, and it shows.

The most likely reason the Rats want Biden as their presidential candidate is to use him as a Trojan Horse to get one of their miserable people appointed as his vice presidential nominee. If they can generate enough voter fraud to get him elected, then he will early on retire due to health issues or they will use the constitution to remove him. That opens the door for a second miserable person to fill the vice presidency chair.

Joe Biden’s status as the frontrunner in the Democratic presidential race highlights the party’s hypocrisy when it comes to striking down Donald Trump, SKY News Australia "Outsiders" host Rita Panahi says. Ms Panahi said it’s surprising the candidate, who is “so confused that he has trouble remembering where he is and why he’s there,” has not been discounted. “Biden's cognitive issues have been evident for some time but just watch the same media who for four years have been declaring Donald Trump mentally and physically unfit for office have a collective meltdown when Biden's mental faculties are questioned,” she said.

Joe Biden had a little outburst today, after a construction worker asked him about the Second Amendment: “You are actively trying to end our Second Amendment right and take away our guns,” the man told Biden as the candidate greeted workers building a Fiat-Chrysler assembly plant. “You’re full of sh**,” Biden responded. A Biden aide tried to end the discussion, but the candidate silenced her in order to continue speaking with the worker. “I support the Second Amendment … from the very beginning. I have a shotgun. There are few ironclad rules in American politics. But here is one: if you are a Republican, no tactic is too disreputable to be deployed against you. I think for example, of the disgusting campaign waged to keep Judge Robert Bork from the Supreme Court in the 1980s. ‘Lion of the Senate’ Ted Kennedy led that charge (‘in Robert Bork’s America…’), though he was aided by a young senator named Joe Biden. Journalists went through Bork’s trash and reviewed the movies he rented for incriminating evidence. Other campaigns of vilification against Republican Supreme Court nominees include the one conducted against Clarence Thomas

The sudden rise of Joe Biden to the top of the former heap of Democratic presidential candidates coincides with a retooled approach to his campaign. Appearing at campaign rallies before friendly crowds in St. Louis and Kansas City over the weekend — see “Biden on the trail” for links to the videos — Biden’s handlers limited his exposure to speaking for a few minutes at each event. Even so, Biden struggled in the style to which we have become accustomed. The style to which we have become accustomed reveals his obvious mental decline. In 2017, as President Trump took office, anti-Trump activists vented rage with pussy hats and other leftist agitprop. But the real work of the #Resistance has been carried out by holdover bureaucrats in the executive branch — and activist judges roaming far beyond their constitutional remit. Witness a senior federal district-court judge’s unhinged, disingenuous broadside last week against Attorney General William Barr. Judge Reggie Walton was confronted with a straightforward Freedom of Information Act complaint, a relatively common type of litigation. In this case, the plaintiffs sought an unredacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian “collusion” released last spring.

The NY Times published a news story today which finally says what many observers have noted for months. There is almost zero chance Medicare for All will become law even if Bernie Sanders wins the White House. In fact, even if Democrats win the Senate and change the filibuster rules, that probably wouldn’t matter either. Just 14 members of the Senate have signed on to his Medicare for All Act, which would require a huge expansion of federal spending, and Democrats would need to pick up four seats in November to gain majority control of the chamber.

The Super Tuesday results reveal a serious flaw in Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders’ campaign: his lack of support among African Americans, whose votes are critical not only for winning the Democratic primary, but for defeating President Donald Trump in the fall. Democrats who wish to beat Trump but prefer Sanders to former Vice President Joe Biden, must ask themselves the following question: Can a campaign that rests primarily on class warfare and economic justice, one that largely relegates race to a concern simply encompassed by economic reform, attract enough black voters to prevail? Recently, we conducted a national survey of the black community to answer this question.

Nearly a half-century apart, two presidential candidates promised the end to wars that had gone on too long. In 1968, Richard Nixon promised “peace with honor” in Vietnam. In 2016, Donald Trump promised an end to our “endless wars” in the Middle East and Southwest Asia. In 1968, the nation was politically torn apart over the Vietnam War. Among thousands of sometimes-violent protests against the war, some chanted that Ho Chi Minh, the communist dictator of North Vietnam, would win. Young men burned their draft cards and some fled to Canada to avoid the draft. Roll calls of soldiers killed in action were read over the nightly news.

When California Senator Kamala Harris dropped out of the primary race, I’ll confess that I was a bit surprised. She’d run a terrible campaign and probably had little hope of winning the nomination because she flip-flopped on so many of her positions, but she’d still gained at least some momentum and was briefly in contention. It just seemed a bit premature for her to leave the race when and how she did. What she didn’t do at that time was endorse any of her rivals for the nomination. And as the weeks dragged on, she remained mum on the topic.
