Washington - With Bernie Sanders looking more and more like the potential Democratic presidential nominee, the good people at the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia have released their first take on what the electoral map might look like in a matchup between the senator from Vermont and President Donald Trump. The map allots 260 electoral votes to Trump, 248 to Sanders and puts 30 in the pure toss-up category. "In our view, we think a Sanders nomination would tilt the election more toward Trump, to the point where the ratings would reflect him as something of a favorite," write Kyle Kondik and J. Miles Coleman of the map.

Nope. The last time a commie ran it was Nixon vs McGovern in 72. Nixon pretty much won it all if I remember right. This might even be better.

The amazing thing about this is that CNN is admitting that President Trump will be re-elected!!!
I honestly expected them to show 48 states going to Sanders.

From CNN?
I think, even with the dead vote and the illegal vote, the Dems are going down!!

Polls, schmolls, they don't know anything...we came out of nowhere and kicked Hillarys butt, and we will do it with whomever they drag out of the trunk of the Klown Kar in November...CNN...Completely Nutty News....

Trump will be leading in 40 states with 99% of polls reporting, but the media will cling to ''It's too close to call'' well into the night.

I'm confident and hopeful, but #1, it is a different demographic and a completely different educational system than 1972...or 1984, another 49 - 1 state election. Sanders may not win but he will get way more than he should...and it will only get worse as future generations of ill-educated voters come of age.

Pure nonsense. This poll obviously ignores all of the adults out there who know what socialism really is. The democrats are in the decision of their lives, should they drop Bernie now or drop Bernie later?

Trumps ads will show Venzuela starvation, China killings, etc. Bernie will be tied to Russia, Russia, Russia. Bernie's houses and other millionnaire benfits will be exploited. Bernie says the same stuff over and over-he makes no sense and cannot pay for anything. No matter how much cheating is done, Bernie will never win. He is a jamoke.

Call me skeptical of that map. I don't believe anyone can just assume they have the election in the bag, but I'm skeptical that Sanders has that much appeal.
Sanders has an extremely loyal cult following (far left socialist/communist), but not so much in the political center where most of the population actually lives. This would especially be true if the political center realized just how things would shake out with them (such as their wealth being shaken out from them). That kind of information would be part of the Trump campaign.

Sorry, CNN is bad enough, but Cillizza on top is a total deal breaker for me.
Not going to waste my time.

More stage setting for a "moderate" third-party candidate to try to upset PDT's re-election. Destiny is calling, Mitt!

So smug about PA. Trump's rallys in PA were awesome. Coal is back, frack is back and more blacks than ever are openly supporting the President. Even with the usual philly, Pittsburgh fraud, he is stronger in PA than last election and the communism, anti energy agenda of bernie will sink like a stone in PA. Plus Pence doesn't bring Indiana? I want to see them crying again on election night. NOTHING will keep me away from the polling place.

Another attempt by CNN to appear relevant. I'd believe a Martian Invasion story before I believe these people.

#1, Nixon won in a landslide 520 to 17. McGovern won ONLY Massachusetts and DC. The Libertarian took 1 Electoral College vote in far western Virginia. Reagan won an even bigger EC margin, Mondale only winning Minnesota and, of course, DC.

Bernie will be screwed by the Dem Elite in a contested convention. The Hildebeast will be drafted by the Dem Elite and try for a third time to become President. Show me the projected electoral map between DJT and HRC.

So the Blue Wall states of MI, PA, and WI which DJT won last time are just gonna switch to a democommunist?
"I don't think so, Tim."
There is no one running competitively today that the Trump communications team will not grind into hamburger.

Except that I think that President Trump will hang on to Pennsylvania, I am not sure about Wisconsin and I doubt that Bernie will do as well as this map is predicting.
