Let there be no doubt where Ben & Jerry’s stands. The ice cream maker has called on Americans to "dismantle white supremacy" and "grapple with the sins of our past" as nationwide protests against racial injustice stretch into their eighth day. In a forceful statement posted to the company's website late on Tuesday, Ben & Jerry's describes the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, at the hands of a white police officer as the result of "inhumane police brutality that is perpetuated by a culture of white supremacy."(Snip) Companies including Nike, Netflix, Twitter, Disney, Facebook and Intel have condemned racism and injustice in recent days.

Singers John Legend and Lizzo, and actresses Natalie Portman and Taraji P. Henson are among the Hollywood celebrities who’ve signed a letter pushing the defunding all police departments in the wake of the police involved death of Minneapolis man George Floyd. The open letter claims that in 2017, $194 billion was spent on the police by America’s various governments even as police have “continued profiling, harassment, terror and killing of Black communities. Black communities are living in persistent fear of being killed by state authorities like police, immigration agents, or even white vigilantes who are emboldened by state actors.

Meghan Markle has complained that Kate Middleton 'snaps her fingers' and is quickly backed by the Palace after a negative story, yet when she was crucified by the media she received no support, sources have told DailyMail.com. 'Meghan said Kensington Palace never once came to her defense when she was being shredded by the media. Now Kate gets a bit of negative press, and the Palace comes out in less than 24 hours to rebuke the claims made against her,' a friend said.

Police sirens wailed up and down 8th Avenue in Manhattan, and New York Police Department helicopters hovered overhead Monday night. The rioters, according to my social media feeds, were several blocks away from my home, pillaging a clothing outlet. A family member sent me a photo he took, from his window, of a jewelry store being ransacked, with no cops in sight.
New York City, like so many others across the country, is under siege.
The police here are not in control of the streets. Anyone can turn on the television or open up social media and see rioters chanting profanely, destroying public and private property, or even attacking women shop owners.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday took a swipe at U.S. President Donald Trump for a staged photo holding a Bible in front of a church near the White House, a visit made possible after protesters were cleared with rubber bullets and tear gas.
Trump did not read any passages from the Bible after walking to St. John's Episcopal Church for the photo on Monday night.
"The president held up the Bible the other day in Washington, D.C. Here in New York we actually read the Bible," Cuomo told a briefing…

Government officials should investigate the treatment of protesters who gathered near the White House on Monday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said Tuesday.
“Secretary [of Defense Mark] Esper, General [Mark] Milley should not allow the U.S. military to come within a country mile of these ugly stunts,” he stated in remarks given from the Senate floor, according to the Hill.
“The administration is using the military as a tool to intimidate American citizens and the Department of Defense IG must immediately launch an investigation into how the U.S military was used and whether it was consistent with the laws of our nation,” he continued.

Thousands of protesters have marched on the home of Mayor Bill de Blasio calling for him to resign.
It was actually even larger than that would appear, it reportedly stretched for 19 blocks.
They reached the home and demanded he go.It’s true, everyone of every stripe hates de Blasio.
Some wags joked the thousands of protesters were just there to pick up Chiara de Blasio, who had been arrested during a protest a couple of nights ago.
Folks on the left are angry about him imposing a curfew, folks on the right and in the center see the city dissolving into chaos, and de Blasio doing nothing.

The police-involved death of George Floyd last week in Minneapolis demonstrates an abuse of power and a need for a renewed national conversation about America's criminal justice system, Fox News Radio's Trey Gowdy asserted Tuesday. In Wednesday's episode of "The Trey Gowdy Podcast," the former House Oversight Committee chairman said all Americans should be angered by Floyd's death.(Snip) "It was wrong, even if George Floyd had lived. It was a crime, even if he had lived. It was excessive, even if he had lived. But, he did not. He was killed. And, that is murder. It is the unlawful taking of a life.
