Gavin Newsom Says Doctors Should
Write Prescriptions For Housing

Original Article

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom said that medical doctors should be able to prescribe housing in the same way they prescribe medication to sick people Wednesday during his 2020 State of the State Address. “Health care and housing can no longer be divorced. After all, what’s more fundamental to a person’s well-being than a roof over their head?” Newsom asked during the address. “Doctors should be able to write prescriptions for housing the same way they do for insulin and antibiotics.” The crowd erupted in applause.

How would that procedure work?

For centuries, the formula has been for people to build or buy their own home and perform productive work to maintain it. Only an idiot like Newsom would attempt to "fix" that. Our current "homeless" problem was created by corrupt, low information democrats and only exists in liberal hives of stupidity known as blue cities where drugs and crime are tolerated. That is not a coincidence.

Open up the governor's mansion, and put it on the list of the spaces the docs prescribe. Why DO governors have to have a mansion anyway? Why can't they live in their own homes? That mansion Gavin lives in could be put to better use by housing the homeless and those on welfare. Eat that!

I’ve read the constitution and the federlist papers and can’t find it anywhere. It is a Democrat dream to be able to control people. Healthcare and housing are a privilege to be earned. Anything you get for free has no value to the recipient. Look at any housing project. Within a few years of being constructed, the whole area looks like WW III happened there last Tuesday. AnD how many of these homes that come into the possession of the homeless will be turned over to the junkies dealer for a week's supply of the drug of their choice? If Government is to do anything, it should help people break the cycle of bad choices, rather than subsidize them. These "Prescriptions" should be written for free room and board at a Mental Institution or Detox.

Luckily, after years of experience, many of us are now wise to the antics and trick moves of the so-called "Progressive Left". At face value, this sounds stupid ... until you realize old Gavin is laying the groundwork for the basis for a Federal law suit! Some nut job Cali-forn-if-ication doctor (not hard to find) gives a prescription for an apartment to some 65 year old junkie/drunk. The rent bill goes to Medicare and the housing authority must move him/her up the waiting list ... doctor's orders don't you see! If you don't do it and pay for it, you're violating the bum's rights. Of course the hidden agenda is also that a landlord can't deny a prescription any more than a hospital or pharmacy can. You have a building with 10 apartments? Good for you! When the social worker shows up with the drunk in tow and hand's you the prescription to "give the patient a room" for you to turn him down leads to a fine at minimum and lawsuit at max. Soon ... they will just seize your open apartments under martial law. Wait for it.

People should buy or build their own homes, as # 8 says. And most folks who "build their own home", consult with a builder and write some checks. At least most people pay for their own homes these days, but Newsom would "fix that problem". My wife and I built our vacation home with our own four hands, with the help of some friends and family with the heavy work of raising the exterior walls and setting the roof trusses - no cranes, just hands and some brainpower. The only work hired was the foundation concrete pour and the sheetrock work. I can do sheetrock but I am slow, and I truly hate it. Watching a good sheetrock crew hang it and mud it is amazing. Expecting your home to just be provided by OPM, via a scribble on a piece of paper is truly insane. Economically impossible. And if it somehow happened, this gutter trash would ruin these home in a few weeks.

But for far too much of the time on that debate stage, you still wound up looking and sounding like a guy who just fell off the pumpkin truck. We know, you’re a billionaire, and super smart, to boot. You are accustomed to people telling you that you’re the brightest, richest, funniest and best-looking guy in the room. I get it.

Donald Trump's rule changes the so-called "public charge" rule that withholds green cards from immigrants dependent on government services. Federal immigration law says that immigrants desiring permanent legal status can be denied if they are likely to become a "public charge." Previously the government defined "public charge" as anyone receiving cash benefits. Those getting food stamps or housing assistance were exempt. The rule change means that green cards will only go to those who are free of dependency on government.

LAS VEGAS – Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is the winner of the Nevada caucuses, according to a Fox News projection. But rival Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden sought to portray himself as Sanders' chief rival as results showed him in second place. "You all did it for me now, now we go to South Carolina and I’m going to take this back!" Biden told supporters gathered at a union hall in North Las Vegas, Nevada. After Biden suffered disappointing fourth and fifth place finishes in the overwhelmingly white Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary, a stronger perfomance in Nevada's much more diverse electorate was a necessity for the former vice president.

If a giant object looks like it's going to slam into Earth, humanity has a few options: Hammer it with a spacecraft hard enough to knock it off course, blast it with nuclear weapons, tug on it with a gravity tractor, or even slow it down using concentrated sunlight. We'll have to decide whether to visit it with a scout mission first, or launch a full-scale attack immediately. Those are a lot of decisions to make under existential duress, which is why a team of MIT researchers have come up with a guide, published February in the journal Acta Astronautica, to help future asteroid deflectors.

When President Trump ticks off his accomplishments since taking office, he frequently mentions his aggressive makeover of a key sector of the federal judiciary — the circuit courts of appeal, where he has appointed 51 judges to lifetime jobs in three years. In few places has the effect been felt more powerfully than in the sprawling 9th Circuit, which covers California and eight other states. Because of Trump’s success in filling vacancies, the San Francisco-based circuit, long dominated by Democratic appointees, has suddenly shifted to the right, with an even more pronounced tilt expected in the years ahead.
