Although past presidents have attended the Daytona 500, today Donald Trump became the first president ever to utter that famous phrase, “Gentlemen, start your engines!” Moreover, being Trump, he did the whole thing in the biggest and best way possible, first flying over the race track in Air Force One at 800 feet and then driving the Beast around the track (snip) Led by the New York Times’ Maggie Haberman and NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell, leftists were outraged that Trump used the “official apparatus of government” for what they view as a political event. In fact, Trump said nothing political

Sometimes he makes me cringe, but I can say without reservation that he is the greatest troll the world has ever known. He can make communist heads explode just by smiling. Or not smiling. Well done!

Cringe? Probably because the truth hurts and we have become a society where we have to tiptoe around the truth. And evildoers depend on that. . .

Flying AirForce One over the stadium at 800 Feet was just totally awesomely awesome!!! Wow!!! The plane is so big it looks like it isn't moving but it's probably going over 300 bills! Then to drive the BEAST around the track...Trump Style...is just the best thing I have ever seen a POTUS do to make his opponents go crazy!!! LOL! I love this man! Does he come up with this stuff or does someone on his staff? I think it's probably him! "Oh no sir...you can't do THAT!" "Why the F Not...I'm the POTUS...Make It So!" MAGA/KAG

Leftists, it was MY tax money that was used to transport The Beast and drive it around the Daytona raceway. YOUR tax money was used to put children in cages!

I'm with #4, I thought it was the coolest thing I've ever seen. Our college age sons watched it with their friends and they called it "Trump's beauty move". Ha! I think it was Jeff Gordon who said that Darryl Walltrip was with The President on AF1, and that Walltrip made it all happen. I don't know if thats true, but whoever came up with the entire thing is a genius. I just wish the race happened. We've been looking forward to it for 4 months. My favorite driver is Erik Jones #20, young kid from Byron Michigan and he drives for Joe Gibbs Racing in the DeWalt car

I loved the whole ceremony, but the best of the best was the flyover by Air Force One! Most people there probably have never seen that Plane, let alone that close. It gave me chills watching it fly that low over the Track! The Fans loved all of it! It sounded like a Trump Rally!

The only way it could have been a better show is if Trump flew in under his own power wearing his Superman suit. This man IS the undisputed leader of the free world. With policy, words, and appearance he is redefining what it means to be Presidential.
It isn't really a political event, it is a major social event and it can't be ignored. The media HAS TO cover it. Plus, the flyover is a stunning visual, something TV lives for, and as they show it they KNOW it is showcasing the President they hate. It will probably be one of the most powerful political ads in this election season and it costs Trump's campaign nothing because it is about the President making a Presidential appearance with a crowd of 100,000.

Remember when Mooch took a crowd of friends and did a low flyover around NYC, scaring the entire population of the city into thinking it was another terrorist attack? Remember the left’s response? No, neither do I. There was none.

#4: I am estimating that AF1 was flying at about 150 to 160 knots, with flaps position 3 and the gear retracted. That 747 is always fairly light compared to a commercial 747 with lots more people and bags/cargo on board.
#11, I did not know that the Mooch was aboard that ill-advised flyby of Manhattan. In that case, that was a huge heavy gross exception to my previous statement about the normal operating weight of AF1 well below max all-up weight!

The best thing about PDJT's visit to Daytona was that the usual snarky anti-Trump local media was forced to say nice things about the visit. I'll take gritted teeth over 'splodey heads anyday.

The deafening roar of the crowd was muted on air by the media...and, it WAS deafening! They didn't show 75% of the reaction...ppl were standing on top of haulers in the garage and campers in the infield.. so many welcoming signs, taking photos w/ppl, etc. Disgraceful and disingenuous media as usual!

Leftists complained about the July 4th celebration too. They were fine with the Obama tribe of 70 people flying to Spain and Hawaii for expensive holidays but Trump can't alter the flight path of AF1 to fly over Daytona! Leftists are so easy to troll and we love it.

The only thing that they could have added to the lap by the "Beast" (named in honor of Moochele?), would have been to have it do some smokin' doughnuts after it circled the track and have Trump get out and jump up on the retaining fence as the crowd went wild.

I hope that the black witch of SanFran, pencil neck and rodent nadler had the most miserable day of their sorry lives. They had to watch a victory lap like no other after the shampeachment with over 200,000 screaming fans and millions smiling at home watching it on television. TRUMP 2020

It was all wonderful!
That the race is to be finished today, just extends the joy, and coverage by an already strung out media.
Did you catch it when the announcer called President Trump, the 46th President? He will still be #45 next year. KAG

I watched the Daytona 500 coverage and it was wonderful, and the drivers were honored to follow him around on the parade lap. VERY cool, and great fly-by, plus having a camera aircraft filming it takes a lot of pre-planning and was a brilliant touch. Not some news helo, either, the airspace around Air Force One is tightly controlled, and no aircraft is there without special permission, or without being part of the show.
Extremely good move, Mr. President. Well done!

Cannot imagine what it was like for President Trump, Mrs. Trump, and all aboard Air Force One at the time it was flown 800 feet above the Daytona track. Suspect the pilot, rightfully, must have had a personal thrill and sense of pride being the pilot to perform that magnificent patriotic tribute on behalf of President Trump to American citizens.
God bless President Trump for all he has done on behalf of this country and for what he hopes to do with, prayerfully, another term in office. Not only is he Making America Great Again, but he is restoring a patriotic spirit within our country which has been shamefully, wrongfully, deceptively maligned by Leftist indoctrination in public schools and amplified worldwide by a willing Leftist mainstream media.
May God bless America.

I just love my President. Yes,he is rude-crude-and lewd, both live on tv,and in his tweets. But he gets the job DONE!!! He doesn't need no magic wand,he has good old fashioned common sense, and doesn't take any crap from anybody. And he is hilarious when he trolls the left. I'm 68 yrs old,and TRump by far is the single best president in my lifetime. Bartender, give me another 4 years of Trump please...

I first went to a race at Daytona in 1968. So, I have been going there and watching on TV for 52 years. It is amazing to see that the track itself is unchanged, but EVERYTHING around it has massively changed.
Used to be a Jai-Alai fronton right next door, and the whole front area outside the immediate grandstands was a grassy area, used for parking during races. And beyond the back straight was woods, NOTHING there at all. Now the stands are about twice as tall, and they wrap WAY farther around turns 1 and 2, where they never were at all.
Big changes, but the basice asphalt is the same as it was half a century ago.

Being America's #1 Cheerleader is part of the job. We've heard Trump say he thought when Obama was elected Obama would at least be a great cheerleader for the US and he was disappointed that Obama never was. Instead Obama went around the world apologizing and humiliating the US.
Now Trump is playing the national cheerleader role admirably showcasing every aspect of "American Glory" that he can -- American made products displayed at the White House, championship college and pro-sport teams, the Daytona 500 Race, and more.
(It must just be miserable being a Democrat these days. They refuse to enjoy anything.)
