Great Exploitations: Greta Thunberg

Well, it's starting to become more clear why Greta Thunberg wanted to trademark her name. It turns out that BBC Studios is developing a TV show about Greta Thunberg. As of this writing, there is no release date, no number of episodes set, and no network attached. If there's no title yet, I think it should be called "Skipping School." But, we do have a series description courtesy of BBC Studios: The series will follow Greta’s international crusade, which takes her to the front line of climate change in some of the most extraordinary places on earth, as she explores what actions could be taken

If the 'Greta show' is ever available in my area, I'll be sure to 'not fail' to miss it. In fact, I could probably teach her a thing or two. Her memorable "How dare you!" - and the look on her face as she says it - is not endearing, but somewhat puzzling and spooky if she's trying to influence others.

BTW, using the NOAA's data from the Lower Manhattan Battery, I was SHOCKED to learn that sea levels have risen 3.85mm in all THREE of Trumps first years in office. AND, I was just as shocked to learn that when Abraham Lincoln was in office the sea level ALSO rose 3.85mm per year. In fact, amidst all of these claims of EVER-INCREASING rates of sea level rise... it has been 3.85mm per year since about 1850. There are variations, of course, but the line drawn through the 'meat' of the data is a straight line. Go look it up. Amaze and befuddle your liberal friends who just invested in beach front property in Nebraska. And please tell Greta Thunberg so she can relax and play with a Barbie or something.

are the Brit's still stuck with having only al the 4 BBC channels? I wonder what show gets the axe to make room for the life and times of Greta of Arc Thunberger? Maybe they will have to devote an entire channel to it and do her life in real time. Kind of like that railroad show where the whole show was of a camera filming the view as the train ran along it's route

Re post #3; Tony Heller on youtube posts a lot of information just like yours. He looks at historical data and old news reports about droughts, fires, floods, melting ice, yadda yadda yadda, that the warmists insist is new and has never happened before. He also illustrates just how easy it is to adjust timelines in graphs when showing past trends to deliberately skew what is happening now to look like it is unprecedented, when in actuality there is nothing new going on. I check him out regularly.

Wow, they are trying to break the Guinness Record for the most boring, least watchable TV show EVER. Yep, lots of folks will want to tune in and listen to a brain damaged, ugly, vacant-eyed, uneducated teen dropout harangue them endlessly and mendaciously about living like a normal human being in the 21st century.

We thought this girl was stupid but she will make enough money that she will not even have to finish school. She won't need the David Attenborough treatment of fitting global warming topics into her show because it will consist of one hundred percent global warming nonsense. The audience will include every GW nut in the world and give her great ratings.

On Friday, the Democrats in the Virginia legislature took the first step toward a sweeping gun ban and confiscation scheme that they plan to put into effect on July 1st. (Just in time for the 4th of July. How patriotic.) The House Public Safety Committee approved a ban on AK-47s and AR-15 style rifles, as well as all suppressors and magazines holding 12 rounds or more. There was a last-minute concession made to allow rifle owners to grandfather their weapons legally purchased before the ban goes into effect. There is no such grandfather clause for magazines or suppressors.

Barnes & Noble has suspended its plan to release “diverse editions” of classic novels for Black History Month after getting slammed on Twitter for “literary blackface.” The partnership between the company’s massive Fifth Avenue store and publisher Penguin Random House featured new jackets for a dozen classic novels — showing characters from books including “Romeo and Juliet,” “Moby Dick” and “Peter Pan” as people of color. But the bookseller canned the scheme after Twitter users railed against the plan.

President Trump has now been acquitted, but Democrats hope his impeachment will disgrace him “for life” and tilt the 2020 election. Don’t bet on it. Sen. Lindsey Graham has a better idea. Graham is proposing post-impeachment investigations by the Senate to “get to the bottom” of the Democrats’ impeachment hoax. That will pin the disgrace where it belongs — on the party that dragged the nation through an unwarranted ordeal. Many Republican senators and Vice President Mike Pence are brushing aside the idea of investigations, saying they want to “move on.” Not so fast.

Robbery is up almost 30% in New York City since the first of the year. Is this a statistical blip, a trend — or a New Year’s bail-reform gift from Albany, robbery now largely being a revolving-door offense in the Empire State? Time will tell, but consider this as well: According to the latest NYPD stats, the number of shooting victims in the city is up 31% since New Year’s Day — so at the very least Gotham appears to be off to a rocky 2020 compared to last year. Which should not surprise: Not only does government usually get more of what it encourages, when it comes to

Rogue NYPD officers are using a sketchy facial recognition software on their personal phones that the department’s own facial recognition unit doesn’t want to touch because of concerns about security and potential for abuse, The Post has learned. Clearview AI, which has scraped millions of photos from social media and other public sources for its facial recognition program — earning a cease-and-desist order from Twitter — has been pitching itself to law enforcement organizations across the country, including to the NYPD. The department’s facial recognition unit tried out the app in early 2019 as part of a complimentary 90-day trial but ultimately passed on it, citing a variety of concerns.

Political figures have long used their families to route power and benefits for their own self-enrichment. In my new book, “Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite,” one particular politician — Joe Biden — emerges as the king of the sweetheart deal, with no less than five family members benefiting from his largesse, favorable access and powerful position for commercial gain. In Biden’s case, these deals include foreign partners and, in some cases, even U.S. taxpayer dollars. The Biden family’s apparent self-enrichment involves no less than five family members: Joe’s son Hunter, son-in-law Howard, brothers James and Frank, and sister Valerie.

Over the objections of the National Rifle Association, a state Senate panel Monday unanimously signed off on a far-reaching measure that would close the gun-show “loophole,” create a record-keeping system for private gun sales and set aside $5 million to establish a “statewide strategy for violence prevention.” The proposal (SB 7028) is a priority of Senate President Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton, as evidenced by the Senate Infrastructure and Security Committee’s consideration and passage of the measure the day before the 2020 legislative session begins. The sweeping legislation would require background checks and a three-day waiting period for firearms sold “on property to which the public has the

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire -- For a brief moment, concerned looks crossed the faces of some Elizabeth Warren supporters gathered for her election-night event in a cavernous building near the Manchester airport. There were no TVs visible to most of the crowd -- a common feature for a struggling campaign that doesn't want the audience to see bad news. There was no warm-up speaker. At 8:20 p.m., facing a fourth-place finish in New Hampshire after a third-place showing a week ago in Iowa, Warren walked onstage without fanfare. She began by acknowledging that Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg "had strong nights."

Two of the key witnesses in the Trump impeachment have been removed from their positions. Gordon Sondland is out as Ambassador to the European Union. Lt. Col Alexander Vindman has been reassigned from the National Security Council to the Pentagon. Democrats are crying foul, of course. But was it improper for Trump to take these personnel actions? Sondland’s case seems easy to me. Ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the President. Trump lost confidence in Sondland. Thus, his removal made sense. Vindman’s case is somewhat different and less easy for me. Unlike Sondland, he’s a career government employee and military man.
