On Friday, the Democrats in the Virginia legislature took the first step toward a sweeping gun ban and confiscation scheme that they plan to put into effect on July 1st. (Just in time for the 4th of July. How patriotic.) The House Public Safety Committee approved a ban on AK-47s and AR-15 style rifles, as well as all suppressors and magazines holding 12 rounds or more. There was a last-minute concession made to allow rifle owners to grandfather their weapons legally purchased before the ban goes into effect. There is no such grandfather clause for magazines or suppressors.
Wouldn’t it be Schadenfreude if the grabbers were “bothered” by home invaders and the police were busy with outreach programs? Or the gated community guards were asleep.

Virginia is a strange state. They outlaw Radar Detectors. Back during the War of Northern Aggression Virginia split into West Virginia and Virginia. They need to split again and have West Virginia, Trump Virginia, and Armpit Virginia. I purchased an AR-15 the day Nasty Nan signed the articles of impeachment. Have never fired it and probably never will. Just wanted to send the dims a message.

Virginians need to give northern Virginia back to Washington D.C., where it came from! It is populated by too many liberals and parasites on the government teat.

I disagree with the claim that people with legal, normal capacity magazines which are suddenly made illegal by some new law. He says "The vast majority of lawful gun owners will probably turn in their magazines .... unless they find a way to store them out of state". Seems more likely that man/most will put them in a waterproof container and bury them somewhere. Or hide them in your home somewhere.
I would bet that the vast majority will hide their "illegal" magazines rather than turn them in. Or if they have 10 turn in 2, and keep 8. They have absolutely NO proof how many you might own, so maybe you just say, "Nope, never had any. Bye"
As to suppressors.....these are federally VERY tightly regulated, and cannot be "given to relatives out of state" legally, plus the authorities, if they have access to federal records, know exactly who has what, as far as suppressors (often called silencers). And the federal penalties are very severe. If they come for your suppressor, the "I lost it" or "I sold it to 'some guy' ", story isn't going to work.

My cousin from Virginia Beach reported that she purchased her first firearm, a 32 special revolver this weekend.
She further stated that a large number of people were crowded into the gun shop "like a Trump rally"!

#5, a revolver is an excellent choice for a first gun. They are extremely simple to load, unload and operate. The .32s are no powerhouse, but a .32 is way, way better than screaming for help in time of distress. And, since a large number of "guns used in self defense" involve NO shots fired, a .32 unfired is just as powerful as a .44 Magnum unfired.
Glad to hear your cousin made the choice. She should get some good instruction, too.

Marxist Communist democrats will disarm the general population. They cannot have any threats of overthrowing their treasonous government by an armed populace.
As Stalin said.
We don't allow them to have books, why should we allow them to have guns.
