I watched the Wild, Wild West religiously in the 60s. Losing so many of the stars of my youth makes me feel old. Condolences to his family.

He really was an accomplished boxer. I wouldn't have wanted to knock that battery off his shoulder!

Agree #3. James West was the 007 of the 19th century. He and Artemus Gordon (the late Ross Marin) were a great team!

Just caught the credits of an episode of “Black Sheep Squadron” on one of our odd digital channels when I saw this story. Talk about synchronicity.

Wild Wild West was one of my favorite shows. It also had one of the best theme songs.

Oh, my. The Wild, Wild West was one of my favorite TV shows EVER (not that I watched many shows). It was one of the most original western series made, focusing on the early Secret Service. Someone else mentioned the theme song, and I agree it was one of the best. I never saw it when aired in the 60's when I was growing up (our family didn't watch much TV), but like many other TV series, I watched it several years later as reruns. You can find the full episodes on YouTube. I had such a crush on Robert Conrad! I've always thought he was one of the most handsome actors ever. I loved his wardrobe for the series. Now i"ll have to start watching the episodes again.

I had a huge crush on him in my childhood first through re-runs of Wild Wild West in the 70s and then with Baa Baa Blacksheep/Black Sheep Squadron. So handsome. So manly. Sigh...RIP.

He was great in Wild, Wild West and in Baa, Baa, Black Sheep. I loved seeing those Corsairs thundering down the dirt strips and doing the dogfight scenes. That show funded keeping some cool old warbirds in flying shape, a good thing for historic flying, aside from the show.
Seemed like a nice guy. RIP, sir.

He also guest starred in a Columbo episode, "An Exercise in Fatality"... he was quite the physical specimen!
We kids were allowed to watch Wild, Wild We and loved it, too. (I especially liked Artemus Gordon).
Thanks for the great entertainment.
Sympathies to the family. RIP

Over the years, I've had 4 hats very similar to his. I can't afford the replicas, so I get the rabbit versions. I have a tall torso so I need the short crown when driving. I was a very big fan of that show! Not that it matters, but I do have a Cattleman's Silver for country dancing with the wife, but we're approaching 70 so slowing down a tad. RIP

He was one of those special actors who was always loved by audiences. Every production he was in was good. I especially liked him in Centennial. ...Can you even imagine a televised historical series of such excellence from the alphabets these days?! Leftist propaganda is all they seem to churn out anymore. Sad
