DES MOINES — Maybe it was the threat of bad weather. Maybe it was a seating assignment debacle. Maybe it was a struggling campaign organization that still hadn’t found its footing.
But as Joseph R. Biden Jr. spoke at a major Iowa Democratic Party dinner in November, one thing was clear: His support appeared tepid compared with the vocal cheering sections of top rivals. The reception angered Mr. Biden and his top aides — and it left little doubt about his standing, three months before the nominating process in the Democratic presidential race would begin: The former vice president was in deep trouble in Iowa.

What went right?
His wife really needs to talk him into dropping out. He couldn’t organize and manage a one man parade let alone a very difficult job of the presidency.

What’s wrong with Joe Biden? Simply put, he’s a major prick. What is there likable about this walking cardboard cutout?

If past performance is a good indicator of future results, look at Sleepy Joe's past record of running for president. That would be a good place to start.
P.S. I did not read the NYT article.

Whatever it was went wrong years ago. Joe should not be running at all but given his pathetic competition, he thought he had a chance. He should have listened to Barack and bought a nice beach towel.

In order to better understand "what happened?", one has to realize just WHO shows up to things like this.
Most folks are going to stay home, unless they are ACTIVIST minded people. That demographic is much younger and are very favorable to someone else paying the bill which equates very well with SOCIALISM. There is ALWAYS plenty of "other people's money"--
The more traditional candidates like Bite Me and Tulsi did not spout the same things that Crazy Bernie and Fauxcahontas did, and the much younger gay Mayor Pete Buttjudge was more to the liking of those who showed up to the "Hawkeye Cauci" (as El Rushbo calls it).
OLD is out. Time to wake up and smell the coffee, especially as things continue to play out with revelations of corruption in the Biden family using influence peddling. Biden is going to be the "sacrificial lamb" to take the heat off of the others-- Nobama and Hitlery have to be protected AT ALL COSTS.

I refuse to click on a Slimes article but I will remind everyone of this -
When running on his own, never before has Biden received more than 8% of the vote in any primary. Did anyone really believe that this time would be different? The guy has always been a loser and an arse. And now the whole planet knows that he is a thoroughly corrupt loser and arse.

What went wrong with Befuddled Biden? Everything. We are once again seeing that Biden isn't capable of even reaching first base in a national election. When/If Biden drops out, the Democratic field will be nothing but hardcore lefty radicals.

They keep blaming his 'late start' in Iowa - which was April of last year. Biden has near 100% name recognition with Democrat voters, and was - if you didn't hear him mention it - Obama's VP for 8 years. Voters rejected him because he is a bad candidate. Period.

And if you believe Biden earned 15% here, then Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide.

BO: "You know Joe, you don't have to do this."
A more aware person would have understood this warning. Joe is not aware or adjustable. He was categated about being too touchy feely but he still does it. He thought his victory in the dem primaries was inevitable, all he would have to do is show up. Instead, he ran into a buzz saw of energetic Leftists and Joe doesn't have the energy or the wits to keep up. He is in the bottom quartile in Iowa. He is in a rough 3 way tie in NH polls and once the effect of the Iowa results hits he will probably fall further. He is low on money. His organization is weak and slow. It's to the point of embarrassment, almost cruelty to keep going. Will he still be there if he doesn't qualify for the debates for some reason?
