RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, this… This day has been one of the most difficult days in recent memory for me because I’ve known this moment was coming in the program today. (Snip) It’s a struggle for me because I had to inform my staff earlier today. I can’t escape… Even though people are telling me it’s not the way to look at it, I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down with this. But the upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer, diagnosis confirmed by two medical institutions back on January 20th. I first realized something was wrong on my birthday weekend, January 12th.

Dearest Rush, There have been occasions during your program when you have said that you do not have children. Please know that while you may not have biological children, you have a multitude of “dittoheads” and “deplorables” who love you dearly, are devastated with the news of your cancer, and will be praying for you. Without question, your faith will sustain you. Blessings and love. “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

Vice President Pence reacted to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., ripping up her copy of Trump's State of the Union speech as soon as the president concluded his address to Congress, saying on Wednesday, “I think it was a new low.” (Snip) Pence, who said he did not actually see Pelosi rip up the speech, but found out a few moments later, noted that “The contrast here was a president who spent an hour-and-a-half making the speech about America and Nancy Pelosi in the final moments tried to make it about her.”

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday ripped up her copy of President Trump's prepared remarks at the conclusion of his State of the Union address. As Trump finished speaking and most lawmakers stood to applaud, Pelosi stood, took the printed copy of Trump's speech and tore it in half. She placed the shredded copy in a stack on the dais as Trump made his way to greet members of Congress. Asked afterward why she tore the speech up, Pelosi told reporters it was "the courteous thing to do given the alternative."

Fans of Rush Limbaugh, who announced Monday he has advanced lung cancer, may recall a gripping story the talk radio king once shared from his childhood that would inspire him to raise some $50 million to fight the very disease now stalking him. Limbaugh, who held annual “cure-a-thons” for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on his widely heard radio program from 1990-2016, told listeners four years ago how he became driven to help fund cancer research.

Sen. Rand Paul was “shocked and offended” by remarks made by Sen. Chuck Schumer and suggested President Donald Trump should sue the New York Democrat for defamation. The Kentucky Republican slammed the Senate Minority Leader for comments made Tuesday at a press conference ahead of the final day of opening arguments by the president’s defense team in the impeachment trial. Fox News host Ed Henry asked Paul about Schumer’s suggestion that Trump’s adult children may need to be investigated after claims about “friendly” relations with China in the forthcoming book by former national security adviser John Bolton.

Amid the turmoil of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's dramatic exit from Britain and the Royal Family, she has been an oasis of calm. Stoic and with an unwavering loyalty towards her daughter and son-in-law, Doria Ragland has emerged as a 'silent but steely' influence behind the couple's decision to seek financial independence in North America. The woman who instilled in her daughter from a young age the motto 'don't give the milk away for free’-- or don't do anything for nothing--has become close to Prince Harry. President Donald Trump's defense team consistently drilled down on one key point as it began opening arguments in his impeachment trial on Saturday: the evidence against Trump is limited, at best, and he can't be impeached because the public hasn't heard direct evidence of his misconduct from him or anyone close to him.(Snip)Republicans, meanwhile, say that if the evidence against Trump is as overwhelming as House Democrats say it is, the Senate doesn't need to call new witnesses. But on Saturday, Trump's lawyers seemed to bolster Democrats' case by repeatedly claiming that they hadn't heard from a single witness who had "direct contact" with the president.

One House Democrat's accusation amid the Trump impeachment trial “stunned” even the most moderate of Senate Republicans, reportedly prompting GOP Sen. Susan Collins to write a note to Chief Justice John Roberts about decorum on the floor of the upper chamber. Collins, R-Maine, is the latest to signal her concerns, after impeachment manager Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., asserted earlier this week that GOP senators were engaged in a “cover-up.”(Snip)Collins is among a small group of Republican senators seen as a possible swing vote on impeachment and a possible supporter of allowing more witness testimony later on in the trial.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - If Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown had his druthers, the U.S. Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump that started Tuesday would be handled very differently. He’s taken the cameras out of the Senate Chamber because he doesn’t want the American public to see, in the dead of night, fundamentally what he’s doing, and we owe it to our country to do better than that.”

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Women in four key states – Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin—could decide who occupies the White House next year. And they may be turning away from President Donald Trump, according to a newly released poll. Yet, many women voters in these states remain undecided. And women at this point are a little less motivated than men to vote in November’s presidential election, according to the poll from Baldwin Wallace, Ohio Northern and Michigan’s Oakland universities. In the Great Lakes states, more women voters said they would support the Democratic Party’s yet unnamed candidate over Trump if the election were held today.

The Iowa caucus data operation just crashed and burned. That means that it could take days to get find out who actually won the Democratic contest – the first of the 2020 presidential election cycle. Joe Biden's lawyers have sent the Iowa caucus organizers a sternly worded letter ordering them not to reveal the winner until the results are cleared with them.

Thunberg, 17, captured global attention for leading a student strike in her home country of Sweden to raise awareness about climate change. Jens Holm and Hakan Svenneling, both members of Sweden's Left Party, argued that Thunberg’s international tour to combat climate change is worthy of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize. In nominating Thunberg, Holm and Svenneling said the teenager had “worked hard to make politicians open their eyes to the climate crisis.” They argued that reducing emissions and complying with the Paris Agreement is “an act of making peace.”

Wow, that was one hell of a State of the Union Address. President Trump seized the center with a powerful, patriotic and utterly centrist speech. And then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reinforced his message with her oh-so-symbolic ripping up of the text. What, other than channeling the alienation of the Democratic base from the great American center, was she thinking? This was the very best of Trump — generous, bipartisan (with a few barbs) and good-spirited. He not only got congressional Democrats to stand and cheer, but he also credited the legislators in the room for working together across party lines to do right by America.

Rush "made the complex understandable," as he liked to say, using irreverent humor to make his points. It was effortless for Rush, doing all of this with "half his brain tied behind his back."
