Thirty miles west of Cleveland along the Lake Erie shoreline sits a town named Lorain, Ohio. Famous for being the birthplace of Toni Morrison, Lorain was once a bustling steel town that drew people from all over the country for manufacturing work. Even the high school football team was named “The Steelmen.” But today, like many Rust Belt towns, Lorain shows signs of decay: ramshackle houses, vacant buildings covered in graffiti, and abandoned plants and factories — lots of them.
Thanks to the exodus of manufacturing jobs in the United States under NAFTA, Lorain was struggling long before the economic crisis of 2008. In 2000, the per capita income

FTA: "Regardless of the type of manufacturing work, Kenny said the past four months have been the most productive at Preston Staffing since he and his partner started the company in 2016. "
Looks like they bet on Pres. Trump in 2016 winning and keeping his promises.

It is so sad that policies like Trump's America First have been possible but ignored by dem AND Republican presidents. It took someone OUTSIDE WASHINGTON to work for the American People. What is sad now is that the entrenched Washington bureaucratic interests are so antagonistic that they refuse to recognize or appreciate the benefits to the Country. Hopefully, the People do and will vote accordingly for positive, real policies instead of Leftist delusions of "fairness" that never happen, anywhere.

I read about a factory under construction near the large shale deposits in the Pennsylvania Virginia area, a factory miles wide, hundreds of jobs. Abundant, inexpensive energy is a main factor in improving and maintaining economic vitality. China is gathering coal, oil and natural gas all over the WORLD. They used to ridicule the phrase Drill Baby Drill. The Creepozoid Environazifascists still do ridicule it, preferring to send all of humanity, and especially the West, back to the Dark Ages. We have no idea just how much oil and natural gas are under the surface of the Earth. We have only drilled a few short miles into the Earth. There are oceans of hydrocarbons on the moons of Jupiter and Saturn. Hydrocarbons are naturally occurring, not pollution.

According to Wikipedia, Toni Morrison is not the only noteworthy individual from Lorain, Ohio. Others include Charles J. Berry (Corporal, Medal of Honor, WWII), Michael Dirda (Pulitzer Price Book Critic), Stevan Dohanos (Artist), Gerald Freedman (Theater Director, Librettist, Lyricist, College Dean), Lofton Henderson (Major, Hero - Battle of Midway), Donald Novello (Father Guido Sarducci - Saturday Night Live), Robert F. Lorain is located in northeastern Ohio on Lake Erie at the mouth of the Black River; Lakeview Park was established in 1917 and currently managed by the Lorain County Metro Parks; the politics have traditionally been closely tied to the local Democrat Party.
The city industries once included the American Ship Building Company, Ford Motor Company, Thew Shovel Company, and United States Steel Corporation.

My wife and I were through there. I think I read half of that huge US Steel plant is going to be renovated and used by another steel company. Yep. Just looked it up. Republic steel. It's a start. Huge northern factories do have a climate disadvantage, compared say, to Alabama. Especially right on the edge of Lake Erie.
