CNN’s Debate Performance

CNN debate moderator Abby Phillip asked Bernie Sanders in the Tuesday debate in Des Moines: “CNN reported yesterday — and Senator Sanders, Senator Warren confirmed in a statement — that, in 2018, you told her you did not believe that a woman could win the election. Why did you say that?” Not “did you say that,” but “why did you say that?” Sanders denied it, then listed the many reasons the story makes no sense: He urged Warren herself to run in 2016, campaigned for a female candidate who won the popular vote by 3 million votes, and has been saying the opposite in public for decades.

The media not only desperately want to get rid of Trump, they think they are entitled to choose his replacement. The voters cannot be trusted to do this themselves. Thankfully they don’t have that kind of influence anymore and the bridges have been burned. I wish someone could explain it to them so they would just shut up.

Overall, #CNNisgarbage trended and #fuckCNN wasn’t far behind. Well, perhaps, just perhaps, some of the lefties are starting to wake up. Or rather, "get woke" the proper way.

#10 I have "work" friends whom I know think just like that. They think I am some kind of strange anomaly. They like and respect me, but I know they think I am very misguided and wrong in being a conservative. Of course I stopped saying what I really think when 0bama was elected and they all worshiped the guy 24/7. BARF. For President Trump, I actually had to request that no political remarks be made during meetings. Which they have abided by, or if one slips, they quickly apologize to me right there. It is sad really, because I have to say, they are good people, but they are all in for the left. This has been an ugly awakening for me, since I work in the SF area and with 90% left wingers. I really wish people just left their politics at home in general.

Did he actually say this? "Over a 24-hour period before, during, and after the debate, CNN bid farewell to what remained of its reputation as a nonpolitical actor via a remarkable stretch of factually dubious reporting, bent commentary, and heavy-handed messaging." CNN has NEVER had a reputation as a non political actor. The author sure isn't very bright.

The source of this desperate attempt to set the story comes from Trump broadly neutering the media. Conservatives know them as fake news. A chunk of dems, for various reasons, also sees media as fake as well. The media hacks are seeing their value, their livelihood, and their careers leaking away. They can't get any traction against Trump but they still have influence with dems. However, like the dem party, media is fractured into different factions so they are fighting against each other. Some of the media know they are heading for disaster because of their squabbling but many are so arrogant and so angry they just don't care.

Thirty miles west of Cleveland along the Lake Erie shoreline sits a town named Lorain, Ohio. Famous for being the birthplace of Toni Morrison, Lorain was once a bustling steel town that drew people from all over the country for manufacturing work. Even the high school football team was named “The Steelmen.” But today, like many Rust Belt towns, Lorain shows signs of decay: ramshackle houses, vacant buildings covered in graffiti, and abandoned plants and factories — lots of them. Thanks to the exodus of manufacturing jobs in the United States under NAFTA, Lorain was struggling long before the economic crisis of 2008. In 2000, the per capita income

With the election year now underway, President Trump is no doubt beatable — and yet, it’s starting to feel more and more like he’ll get reelected. The obstacles to Trump winning in 2020 should not be ignored. To start, in 2016, he only beat the highly unpopular Hillary Clinton in the Electoral College by winning three key swing states by less than 1%. In 2018, all three of them, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan turned against Republicans. Trump also has historically low approval ratings and has been consistently trailing Democratic front-runner Joe Biden in general election matchups. But at the same time, there are several factors

He established authoritarian rule under which both communists and fascists were banned. Seeing his nation caught between the Third Reich and Soviet Union, Horthy chose the former. If the Trump era has taught us anything, it's that large numbers of white people in the United States are motivated at least in part by racism in the voting booth. Donald Trump ran an openly racist campaign for president, calling Mexicans rapists and criminals, regularly retweeting white supremacists and at least initially balking at repudiating former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. Trump made it clear in his campaign that "Make America Great Again" meant that America was greater when white people's power was more sweeping and more secure. White voters approved of that message by a whopping 58 percent to 37 percent.

The findings come from a Washington Post-Ipsos poll of African Americans nationwide, which reveals fears about whether their children will have a fair shot to succeed and a belief that white Americans don’t fully appreciate the discrimination that black people experience.
