WASHINGTON — House Democrats laid out their impeachment case against President Donald Trump on Monday, a sweeping report accusing him of betraying the nation and deserving to be ousted, as key lawmakers began to signal where they stand ahead of this week’s landmark votes. What Democrats once hoped would be a bipartisan act — only the third time in U.S. history the House will be voting to impeach a president — is now on track to be a starkly partisan roll call Wednesday. No Republicans are breaking with the president, and almost all Democrats are expected to approve the charges against him. A raucous town hall Monday in the

The TB Times, completely in the tank for the Democrats, ran this AP article under the headline: "Report: Trump betrayed nation." Typical Donks. Bad people. Liars.

Dems don't want a senate trial if they can't turn it into their benefit. They know they can't control the witness list. They also don't want it dragging on month after month. So speculation runs they may not pass on the articles of impeachment to the senate and blame McConnell, so there will be not trial.

Senator McConnell needs a vote tomorrow and shelve this farce. Don't make the Senate participate in this hoax and shut this impeachment down. There is nothing the left can do except grandstand and drag this out. I don't want the liberal Judge Roberts involved to possibly strike the last blow to bring down the President. Stop it tomorrow and support will be behind the Republicans no matter what the fake news organizations try to report. Just do it.

Maybe we should be afraid of the growing level of political incivility. The Hill quotes president Trump as suggesting that what comes around goes around. "And I tell you what, someday there will be a Democrat president and there will be a Republican House, and I suspect they're going to remember it," Trump said. Rep. Will Hurd put it more prosaically. Politico says "the Texas Republican is concerned impeachment will be used as a weapon against future presidents, just like voting on new Supreme Court justices." Call it the Harry Reid effect, after the former Democratic Senator majority leader who devised a way of ramming measures

The decisive defeat of the British Labour party strongly suggests that a fundamental shift in the politics of the world has taken place — that the non-ideological wave of unrest sweeping the world really has deeper roots than Donald Trump or Fox News. Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch, the founders of Fusion GPS, tried to blame the fall of Labour on Putin. "Britain needs its own Mueller report: a full, independent and public accounting of Russian efforts to interfere in its politics. Few people will look forward to this process in a country already exhausted from fighting over Brexit. But it’s essential to halt Russia’s attack

A Florida man, found eaten by an alligator this summer, died from a meth overdose before his body was ripped apart by the reptile, according to a medical examiner's findings. Michael Ford, 45, was found face down in a canal in Fort Meade on June 27 and Polk County Sheriff's investigators theorized he might have drowned before an alligator began eating the man's remains, NBC News reported. A hand and a foot belonging to Ford was found in the beast's stomach.

BROOKSVILLE — By the time they arrived in Hernando County, the burglars had refined their methods. Michael Ornelas, 56, was a locksmith and expert safe cracker, investigators would later say, while William Granims, 57, knew how to monitor police radios, and Matthew Petruccelli, 67, served as lookout. Ornelas and Granims had worked together a long time. In the late 1990s, they stole more than a million dollars of jewelry and money from stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Georgia. They got caught. They did time. They got out. They moved to Florida. From 2011 to 2012, they hit four stores, authorities say. More in the next couple of years.

The impeachment proceedings being prepared by the Democrats in Congress and the Trump administration efforts to portray it as a coup may together produce an allergic reaction more lethal than the disease each professes to cure. To senior Democrat Adam Schiff, the removal of Donald Trump is too important to be left to the 2020 ballot box. "The argument 'Why don't you just wait?' amounts to this: 'Why don't you just let him cheat in one more election?'" The current US political crisis, whichever side prevails, raises the question of whether any outsider can ever be legitimately elected again if the candidate must

Fellow actress Alyssa Milano is, politically, the exact opposite of Swanson: she truly hates Trump. Day after day, Milano shares tweets and videos in which she accuses Trump of the vilest possible crimes and vices. Where Swanson is beloved by the right, Milano is the left's Hollywood darling. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) launched the debate over the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Wednesday by comparing the Democrats’ struggle to remove him from office to the Battle of the Bulge against Nazi Germany in World War II. Described as “Hitler’s Last Gamble,” the battle began in December 1944, when the Nazis sent 200,000 troops into a surprise attack against American forces. Though the Americans prevailed, 100,000 were killed or wounded over two months of fighting. Pelosi drew an analogy between the impeachment debate and that battle, the largest ever fought by the U.S. Army:

You could say the same of the movie itself. We can debate the importance of final chapters, whether they really have, or should have, the power to elevate or invalidate everything that came before them—and though the ninth episode in this generation-spanning story has been advertised with the promise that “The Saga Will End,” that’s a promise that has been made and broken before.

A Washington Post fact-check released Thursday gave House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) four Pinocchios for a "bogus talking point" about the number of children killed with firearms each year. Pelosi has repeatedly claimed that 47 percent of gun deaths were "teenagers or children," according to the Post. CDC data show the real number is closer to 9 percent, meaning the House speaker exaggerates the true number by more than fivefold. This discrepancy led the Post to assign Pelosi's claim the harshest rating on its fact-checking scale.

The FISA court called the FBI’s conduct “antithetical to the heightened duty of candor” that applies in such cases.
