Serving as a cop in America is harder than ever — and it comes down to respect. A deficit of respect for the men and women in blue who daily put their lives on the line for the rest of us is hurting recruitment and retention and placing communities at risk.
This month, Sgt. Christopher Brewster of the Houston Police Department was shot and killed while responding to a domestic-violence call.

Domestic violence calls seem to be particularly deadly to law enforcement. If someone is being violent to a spouse/partner/friend he (or, I guess, she) is likely to be potentially violent towards someone trying to help the victim. Even though it may take longer to respond, perhaps there should be one or two officers especially trained to answer such calls with all the protection a SWAT team member might have.

This all started with barry, "if I had a son..." and the hands up, don't shoot bullcrap. This could have been nipped in the bud, now it's out of control. Thank you AGs Holder and Lynch, and especially thank you barry. And don't forget the sudden, inexplicable plethora of anti-police prosecutors nationwide. Leftist insanity at its most lethal.

There is and always will be a normal distribution of police behavior and performance. There will always be an under current of cops behaving poorly simply because cops are a subset of imperfect humanity. I can point to multiple personal encounters even one that could easily have turned deadly had I been all wound up to believe that they were after me rather than making a stupid mistake. I even rescued a couple of under performing cops who were getting the begeezes beat out of themselves by a guy who chose to just say yes.
But what we have in society today is an additional layer of suspicion manufactured out of pure un-homogenized bovine excrement. The reality of genuine bad policing is a given and in no way excuses the bloodletting taking place driven by propaganda. Athletes, actors, media, politicians common sheepole, all have blood on their hands.
People are wound up to think the worst . No single person did more to contribute to that than Obama.

It doesn't help when clearly traitorous actions by 'cops' at the highest federal levels are ignored, excused or swept under the rug when anyone else would be hanged. That clearly shows we are no longer under rule of law, but are under rule of men - and that means anything goes, grasshopper, so be careful what you leftard yahoos wish for - you won't be exempt from the results.

As a conservative I would like to agree whole heartedly with the statement that cop's aren't getting respect. But I can't.. Most yes - all no. Some of that public animosity is rooted in some cops' behavior. Good cops I know agree with that.

It's only risky if you live in a location that is unfriendly toward private gun ownership. Let me see cops being harassed in Texas and see if I don't put a stop to it...

On the right side of the rear window of my car, in descending order are: an American flag decal, an NRA decal and a thin blue line flag decal. That pretty much tells everyone where I stand.
And, BTW, there are bad apples in every organization ever created. No one should expect that every cop is perfect.
