Gov. Tim Walz notified the Trump administration Friday that the state will continue to welcome refugees, pointedly saying that the “inn is not full in Minnesota.” In a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Walz wrote that he rejects the intent of President Donald Trump’s recent executive order requiring state and local governments to independently approve the resettlement of refugees in their communities.(Snip) “Minnesota has a strong moral tradition of welcoming those who seek refuge,” Walz wrote. “Refugees strengthen our communities. Bringing new cultures and fresh perspectives, they contribute to the social fabric of our state.

Comments:

Step aside, Outmoded Americans, your global replacements are inbound. The left, meanwhile, is livid that states and municipalities have the right of refusal.

Are they truly "refugees"? Some might call them opportunists. Infiltrators. I doubt that Minnesota needs more 7th century culture in their midst.

The reference Walz uses is when Mary and Joseph came, paid taxes, then left for Egypt. Anyone who wants to do that is OK in my book.

Thanks to the globalist Bush family's "church-based initiatives," Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services get thousands of dollars for each so-called refugee they resettle. The latter, faced with shrinking numbers of churchgoers, have a nice replacement income stream, so they push for ever more refugees, twisting and abusing the idea Christian charity. The taxpayers and our national culture take the hit, but the churches get to keep the lights on a little longer.See also this, FTA; Tim Walz gets to feel good, but the Replacement Americans can go as they please once imported: "But refugees who have already settled in the U.S. can still move anywhere they wish. Trump’s order applies only to the initial resettlement of refugees from abroad."

Do you see how leftist governors boldly resist just laws they think are unjust, Republicans? Obama was illegal as heck in most of his actions; how many Republican governors defied his illegal laws? Minnesota, you get what you vote for. I live in a state that hangs on to Lindsey Graham, so I can somewhat empathize. However, as much as I hate to say it, I'll take Lindsey any day over leftist, worthless pukes.

We no longer travel to ANYTHING in downtown Minneapolis or St Paul. Live in the far western suburbs near Lake Minnetonka and Wayzata is about as far east as we go now that we are nearing retirement. Also, am never anywhere without self defense main and backup products. Cold Steel or Zero Tolerance is my blade of choice for close work if confronted and my main motif takes a dump on me! Downtown Minneapolis was a thriving retail market when we moved here in 1987. Now it is a ghost town for retail stores. There is one fairly decent men's store and one great little clothier who sells my shoes on the skyway level but all other large stores are gone and entire shopping malls (Galtier Plaza) are empty! Thanks to my Lutheran Church for their "help"? I hate giving Amazon business but have to admit that there just aren't places to go to shop that are safe anymore! We know it is just a matter of time before the Mall of America will become a target! Stay away from there if you are visiting! Gangland!

Days after leaving office, the former Kentucky governor Matt Bevin is facing widespread backlash and calls for an investigation following a number of controversial pardons of violent offenders on his way out the door. Pardons are traditional at the end of a governor’s term–and most of the Republican’s more than 400 pardons were for drug offenses. But a number of the pardons were for particularly violent crimes, like a woman who gave birth in a flea market porta-potty and dumped her newborn into the toilet’s septic tank; a man who hired a hitman to murder his business partner
