When I was little, I loved to sing. At age 5, I joined a nationally renowned youth choir based in Seattle, my hometown. During the wintertime, we performed dozens of Christmas songs, exquisite choral melodies in multipart harmony, in churches across the city. Next to the other choristers, all of us dressed in identical red and white choir robes, I blended right in.
Except for one thing: I’m Jewish.
While in choir I sang songs about Christmas, I didn’t celebrate it. My family didn’t decorate a tree like our neighbors, and I was under strict instructions not to spill the

Nice to see Hallmark recycled Kristoffer Polaha from their mysteries series, Mystery 101.
He's easy on the eyes.
Hallmark has already bent over backwards to include closeted gay leading men (as straight love-but-never-have-sex) partners for their straight-laced older single women leads.
They even have an almost all black cast including Rick Fox as a detective (also easy on the eyes.)
Hallmark makes all kinds of cards, even Kwanza, so, who's to say they won't keep expanding their audience?
IF the target population will even watch their hokey Christmas movies.

I don’t care. I’m Jewish.
I’m mainly surprised that the author is complaining that the stories are badly written tripe. So, in other words, just like the rest.

I'm a Christian and I'm not excited about the Christmas movies they've been running non-stop since August.

I like the Hallmark Christmas movies. I know I won't be offended. There's no argument that the story lines are predicable and the locations idealized; we all know its fantasy. But its a pleasant fantasy populated by likeable people. The acting and set design is about the same as a good made-for-TV movie back in the 70's. I like hearing traditional Christmas carols sprinkled throughout and enjoy the pretty decorations in almost every scene. I'm a sucker for a love story and, yes, I tear up when the couple have their first kiss.
I wrapped the family Christmas gifts watching Hallmark and had a lot of fun doing this otherwise tedious task. I also picked up a few ideas to update my home decorations. I'm celebrating big this year. Donald Trump is in the White House and we have the best economy in 50 years. I've got money to spend instead of counting pennies like during the Obama years. Hallmark movies are both a refuge from the storm and a stiff shot of Christmas spirit. We've just got two weeks to go and I'm mainlining Hallmark.
Merry Christmas!

Our heritage as Christians was built upon Judaism. Not to include Jewish heritage is not being inclusive.
That they would depict the Jewish male as duplicitous, is the part that’s not right. That tarnishes the image of righteous, honorable Jews.
I love the richness of our joint legacy of miracles wrought by a forgiving, magnificent God, Who loves all of us. Inclusiveness, not division!

My understanding is that Rosh Hashanah and Passover are much more prominent holidays on the Jewish calendar.

Oy vey. As long as Bernie and LindaSarsour aren't in it, it's a personal choice.

If you don't like them, don't watch them!!! It's really easy!!!
None of these movies is really about Christmas. They are sappy romantic movies set around Christmas. They have pretty much the same 20 storylines, and you see movies with those same storylines the rest of the year that aren't set at Christmas. A Christmas background just makes them more nostalgic and romantic.
I am a pretty devout Christian, and it doesn't bother me that they are far more about Santa Claus than anything to do with the birth of Jesus (the real reason for the season).
And besides, several years ago, they already did the Christian and Jew pretend to date and have to fool either other's families around Christmas/Hanukah -- and, of course, they fall in love in time for New Year's Eve!!!

I love Hallmark Movies. What's not to like! First of all, you have a choice to watch or not to watch! Personally Hallmark gives me the whole "snow for Christmas" thingy I was used to when I lived up North. I'm in Florida now! I love the Hallmark Sets, they are beautiful. Yes, the story lines are pretty much the same, but who cares. It beats watching the farce being put on by the Democrats. And yes, #10 is right. Hallmark did the Pretending to be Jewish storyline quite a few years back. It was very funny!

I'm not Jewish, either. But, I'd take that over a Rap Christmas story. Imagine the bling the three Wise Men would bring.

Last week the Grievance Commission was hard at work criticizing the Hallmark Channel for being too Christian. This week, Hallmark is in the crosshairs for attempting to offer a contemporary Jewish story. The criticism is that they painted the picture of contemporary Jews living like everyone else. Can't have that when everyone simply MUST identify with an identity group that divides, every story must feature a white male villain, and you may never celebrate the universal human experiences that unite us.
