Nebraska bakery owner tackles teen who

A bakery owner in Nebraska is being praised for tackling and holding down a 90-pound teenager who allegedly stole a tip jar containing $15 – but the boy’s mother wants the woman criminally charged for going “way above the law,” according to a report. The 14-year-old boy and a friend were at Farine + Four bakery in Omaha on Thursday when owner Ellie Pegler sprang into action during the alleged theft, the Omaha World-Herald reports. Pegler later posted photos of the incident on her now-deleted Instagram page, complete with images of her bloodied knuckles and a warning for other would-be thieves. “I’m tired of teenagers stealing our tip jar,”

Good job, baker!! And now his whining mama thinks he should have been just let go and cussed at on his way out the door?? THAT'S her solution to her son's theft of a tip jar?? How many times has he done this before??

It appears that this is an opportunity to turn a $15 tip jar into a Million $ settlement.

Yeah... well, it WASN'T a white kid. And, despite there being about 6 times more white kids than black kids... seems odd that it is usually is NOT a white kid. Before blacks get to make claims of being singled out for crimes they need to stop committing crimes at a higher rate per capita than whites. For now, disproportionate actions means disproportionate responses.

Children have to be taught, at a young age, to control their impulses. In certain sub-cultures, impulse control is not taught very well, if at all.

6, I would make the argument that genetics is at work here as well. The skills required for surviving in sub-Saharan Africa and other equatorial regions is very different than the skills developed for surviving in more seasonally diverse regions such as Asia and Europe.

OK, one more time. Blacks are their own worst enemy. The culture of the Black Community is their biggest threat. And we wonder why they shot each other over the smallest perceived slight. They are the problem and only they can solve it. A mother defending her "baby" when he was the thief is not a good sign but certainly not surprising.

Good for the Bakery Owner! As for the Police saying that Civilians should not go after guys like him , but let the Police handle it. HA! That teen would have been long gone way before the police got there! It's a grab and dash plan they execute. So I'm thinking that kid is really lucky the Owner didn't have a Gun! As for the mother saying her son wouldn't have been roughed up like that if he had been White....HA! Maybe he wouldn't have been roughed up if SHE had raised him NOT to Steal from others!

I pulled a stunt like this as a teen only it was shoplifting , I spent the next thirty six hours in the juvenile shelter. That juvenile shelter was no fun ,more like under eighteen prison . I found out later the police had called my parents and dad said " keep him for awhile". A lesson well learned and some tough love , later years my dad got a chuckle when I told him about the lousy food.

#19 is why I no longer leave cash tips on restaurant tables. I actually witnessed a group of teenagers strolling around and stealing the tips at a restaurant I was eating in. I alerted the manager and the teens were "relocated" by the police AFTER returning the tips. I now explain this to my servers as I either hand them the tip directly or let them know that I'm leaving it on my credit card. If they have given me good service, I feel compelled to make sure that they actually receive what I have left for them.

It used to be that a little thief like this would get two beatings for this crime. First a good beating from the baker, and then a second good beating from his father when the news reached home. Of course now, Dominique thinks that just catching and restraining the little thief is too much. Let me guess what ethnicity this little thug is....too easy. She probably taught the thief to steal.

Sen. Bernie Sanders called for an end to cash bail across the country at the Democratic debate on Friday night, saying there are hundreds of thousands of people locked up because they can’t afford a several-hundred-dollar fee. Sanders made his call to end bail as the candidates debated America’s criminal justice system and how it affects minorities in the United States. “Most people don’t know this. Tonight in America, 200,000 people are in jail without having been convicted of anything. Two hundred thousand people — because they can’t afford the 500 bucks they need to get out of jail,” Sanders said. “That is outrageous.

Hong Kong is facing a toilet paper shortage as Chinese factories struggle to meet demand amid the coronavirus outbreak, according to a report. Shoppers were photographed walking past bare supermarket shelves usually stocked with toilet paper. The cause of the shortage is unclear, but unconfirmed reports on social media suggested that it stemmed from production holdups at supply chains in mainland China, according to Bloomberg. Some Chinese cities remain under quarantine, while thousands of people are sick from the coronavirus, impacting its workforce. Vinda International Holdings, which produces toilet paper, said its factories in mainland China will resume operations next week.

Are we watching a great political party commit suicide? For more than a year, Democratic candidates, up to 26 of them at one point, have been crisscrossing Iowa’s 99 counties, seeking votes in Iowa’s precinct caucuses. They were duly held on Monday night. But the Iowa Democratic Party did not release any results until Tuesday, and they were only partial results. What does that say about the party’s competence and judgment? Iowa’s Democratic caucuses had a complex system of regrouping supporters of candidates with less than 15% and reporting not votes but state convention delegate equivalents. Bernie Sanders supporters protested when the Iowa party announced Hillary Clinton had beaten him

A third child — the woman’s 4-year-old son, who later died — had not been diagnosed with the flu at the time, but showed symptoms of a fever and had a seizure. Nevertheless, she ignored the doctor’s orders, she wrote.

Tom Steyer apparently thought he had a good line at the Democratic presidential debate on Friday when, with great flourish, he reminded his rivals that former president Bill Clinton campaigned successfully by remembering, "It's the economy, stupid!" Steyer was right, and that's why President Trump is on course for reelection. Steyer correctly said that Trump routinely touts the robust economic growth seen in his first term and that it's proving an effective line with voters. But Steyer left the reservation when he said Democrats would only be successful in November if they "beat" Trump on that issue. He didn't say how he or any one of them could do that,

Democratic California Assemblyman Marc Levine has introduced a clearly unconstitutional bill which mandates that anyone registered to vote must attend a voting booth and file a response. Levine says his intended law is justified and necessary because "democracy is not a spectator sport — it requires the active participation of all its citizens ... Those rights come with a responsibility by registered voters to cast their ballot and make sure that their voice is heard by their government." While registered voters would not have to select a candidate in order to conform with Levine's desired law, they would have to file a ballot return, even if unmarked.

All those pundits saying the Iowa caucus fiasco suddenly makes the Democrats weak for the fall election against President Trump are wrong — there was nothing sudden about their weakness at all. Even before Iowa, this Democratic field was embarrassingly weak. It is woefully lacking in stature, accomplishments, competence, and salable political philosophy. Most of its major contenders are either too old or too young. And now, the national party infrastructure’s obvious disarray only exacerbates these problems. Consider front-runner Bernie Sanders. His popularity with historically illiterate, willfully ignorant millennials aside, he would be a joke as a general election candidate in any other year.

Although I still can’t follow the logic of that last bit, it doesn’t matter. Democratic Illinois Rep. Jesús García, along with several other progressive House members, introduced the New Way Forward Act in December 2019, to seemingly little fanfare. The bill, among many things, calls for the decriminalization of illegal immigration, would make it more difficult to deport convicted criminal aliens, empower immigration judges to nullify deportation orders, and also calls for the return of previously deported illegal aliens.
