Internal Revenue Service (IRS) records show that Chick-fil-A is not only stopping donations to Christian organizations but is funding left-wing extremist groups, including the anti-Christian Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
Chick-fil-A’s 2017 990 IRS filing shows the fast-food franchise made a $2,500 donation to SPLC, among a laundry list of pro-abortion and pro-LGBT orgs, Townhall reports. The Chick-fil-A Foundation has come under conservative scrutiny since its decision to stop supporting Christian charities such as the Salvation Army, caving to disingenuous pressure campaigns from far-left activists.
The SPLC is most infamous for inspiring an attempted domestic terror attack against the Family Research Council

Is the company a conservative fraud? Seriously. SPL is the worst. The stuff they brought into my home town schools was just so wrong on so many levels I cannot even tell you. Have we been "Bush Wacked or Romneyed again?".

Look at it as buying protection from left wing harassment. As a businessman in NYC, Trump often contributed to thugs who could deny him permits and stuff. Just to get things done.

The purpose of a business- any business is to make money. Nothing more. They institute corporate policies they think will accomplish that. In the case of CFA they were Christians as long as it was profitable. Now they think it isn't so its out the window.

The latest actions by Chick-fil-a go against every principle of its founders. It has been an amazingly successful enterprise even throughout all of the Leftist activism against it. Why are they doing this now? Why are they purposefully turning away the very customers who have made it so successful? It just doesn't make any sense and it breaks one's heart.

Note to ChickFilA: Dance with the one that brung ya. Sound advice that you-all should have followed. Anyone who has brought a date to a dance only to have that date dance with someone else all evening never forgets it and despises said 'date' forever. Many frequented your businesses due to their belief in your Christianity. Now you give tribute to Baal? This was a really bad decision.

Chick-fil-A decided that they have a bigger market with flaming liberals and gays so they tossed aside their supposed beliefs and integrity for more profit. I hope they go bankrupt.

I guess it would have been better to just be a chicken place without the need for social overtones of any kind. When a business gets into social issues or religion or politics, there can be problems ahead. Steve Jobs was smart. No one knew what he believed. He was just in the tech development business...

They make a decent sandwich and their help is always polite and nice, so this won't hurt their business much, but I won't be going out of my way to get one now and I may try Popeye's new sandwich.

The most important resources that any company has is it's reputation and the trust of it's customers. Both are easy to lose and hard to regain. Never put people in positions of power in your organization that do not share your values.

I read on Free Republic that the contribution was made by a volunteer member of the advisory board. I don't know what that means exactly and I certainly am not defending them but I will wait and see what the whole situation is before I do anything more than say I don't like the new policy about the companies contributions.

I emailed them my disappointment. This was their reply, in part......."Moving forward, the Chick-fil-A Foundation will reassess philanthropic partnerships annually rather than make multiyear commitments. All organizations - faith-based and non-faith-based-will be considered for future partnerships."

We were out and about all this afternoon and usually we would have stopped at the available CFA right where we were shopping. We looked in that direction and said *nah* let's not go there. They use to be a solid go to place to eat...now they float so much in the political wind I wouldn't trust their food actually on a day to day basis. Sad. We drove all the way back to our little town and went to a local restaurant for a sandwich. CFA can kiss our grits.

I wonder like #8, some sort of squeeze being put on Chick-Fil-A?
Altogether possible. Didn't CFA just bail out of the UK when faced with opposition?
That'll get some attention in a board room looking for expansion.
Or, as suggested by #19, fake or at least incomplete news?

#10,#19,#21- Perhaps time will reveal the reasons for the recent changes made by Chick-Fil-A. However, considering the goings-on in the world today, including harassment, intimidation, flash-mob and rent-a-mob activities, moral decadence, AI, shadow government and, tragically and alarmingly what appears to be advancing apostasy, Revelation 13 comes to mind, particularly Verse 16: (The Second Beast) “Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark,” Unless one has the mark, “Economic activity is restricted to those bearing the mark of the beast.” The world may not yet be at this point, but it appears that powerful negative forces are become bolder in actions to the point of people and businesses feeling threatened by those forces to the point of opting for safety rather than conflict through physical, mental, or litigation abuse. Chick-Fil-A has been highly regarded for its Christian values so is clearly a prime target for destruction by one means or another—including besmirching its heretofore unique and admired business ethics.

Why do companies now have to donate to any group? Stop it! When they feel the need to be philanthropic give your product to the homeless, poor, people in need after a disaster, police and firefighters to thank them for their service. Keep it local and stay away from national organizations. The LGBTQ gestapo are relentless. If they can’t get you one way, they will go after you in another. Personally, I would never cave to these bullies because you cannot appease them. Their goal is your destruction and they will settle for nothing less. Ever notice how their determination to destroy is very similar to the terrorist’s strategy? Their actions should chill the heart of any freedom loving individual in this country. The LGBTQ radicals are particularly disturbing because they don’t care who they destroy. Now it appears they now bully corporations because they can and it will not stop because each time they do and are successful, it just gives them more reason to do it again. It saddens me to see CFA cave to the mob and I predict many people will no longer be loyal customers. When you disappoint people who have stood by you you lose something more than just customers. You lose trust and that is very hard to regain. If CFA does not immediately address this, it won’t matter how good the food or service because they will have betrayed their customers. It’s just so sad.
When will we learn that nothing except complete celebration of LGBTQ community will ever satisfy them? Serious question, how can such a minority of the population gain so much power in such a short time? Is it their financial clout or is the majority of society really okay with their scorched earth strategy? Any whiff of anything less than total acceptance and celebration of their lifestyle brings the LGBTQ hammer down hard and swift. This is the strategy employed by the radical left and it seems to be working.

I had just one chicken sandwich from CFA, since a store opened nearby. I judged it pretty decent. I was never interested in the corporation’s public declaration of Christian faith. It had nothing to do with the taste. However, I inwardly cheered whenever they made big bucks, in spite of liberal/left/queer opposition, as I cheered for any organization that resists the bullying tactics of the left, who simply cannot reconcile with the fact that other people don’t think like they do. I was not all that disappointed with CFA’s capitulation, since I put my trust only in God, not in man.
