RUSH: So, we had a bit of a bombshell last night that I need to put in perspective for you. Mr. Horowitz, the inspector general, reported that he has found evidence that an FBI lawyer manipulated a key investigative document related to the FBI’s secretive surveillance of a former Trump campaign adviser--Carter Page. (Snip) Now, why? I have to tell you, folks, I have to be very, very honest about something. When I saw yesterday that the inspector general report was gonna be released on December 9th, I said, why the hell did they announce that? What in the world is there to gain by announcing that?

Rush did make clear that Horowitz cannot charge anyone with anything—he is an investigator and can only make criminal referrals. It is the Durham report that may be historic.

Rush got it wrong. Its not Lisa Page. The lawyer is named Kevin Clinesmith. Rush needs to read Sundance.

The fact that this "bomb shell" was released first to CNN tells me that the IG's office may be just as corrupt as the FBI and DOJ were/are. Wasn't CNN their favorite place to leak as well as the NY Post? I don't expect anything from the IG report except a white wash.

#3, I am afraid you are right. The Horowitz Report will be a big nothing burger. He knows better than to go against the Deep State. It is going to take someone with unshakable courage and integrity to go after the criminal class that has burrowed deeply inside every agency of the government. Power is a very effective aphrodisiac to most people who are inclined to climb the ladder of success. It can make individuals do incredibly foolish and illegal acts in order to succeed and government is the perfect environment to reward these particular kinds of self-serving ideologues.
If the Report was a serious indictment of the criminality of the Obama administration, there would be no leaks. The Report would have been dropped without giving the parties involved any opportunity to begin building a defense. Surprise is a very effective tool of law enforcement. Even though the IG has no authority to issue indictments, it can be a stunning piece of information that leads to a proper prosecution. Horowitz is walking a fine line. After everything the public already knows, he must make his findings harsh enough to be legitimate but no so damning as to do serious harm to the people he has worked with for years. In fact, how effective is an IG investigation result going to be when portions are being leaked to the media? Serious men and women would want to protect their work product. What this does is give the media a chance to begin to set the narrative that will do the least amount of harm to democrats. One tactic will be to point to the IG Report after the Durham investigation produces its findings and point out that it is only partisan findings driven by political retribution of this President. If you believe any report concerning a criminal action by any democrat will result in condemnation by the media, think again. The Deep State and media are completely intertwined and both will do whatever it takes to discredit any attempt to hold the seditious players accountable for attempting to unseat a duly elected President. Tamp down your expectations or you will be extremely disheartened.

The JD is still corrupt ... NY Times, WP & CNN remain the only ones receiving JD leaks. As long as Wray is employed nothing will change.

The “leaks” are not from Horowitz, and the “reporters” are the same bought-and-paid-for clowns at the Bezos Washington Post, the Failing and Flailing New York Slimes, etc. etc. —a/k/a the Fusion GPS echo chamber of propagandists with bylines — who have set the fake news narratives for more than four years now. The “leaks” are from the bad guys who have been allowed to review the segments concerning them self’s, and are now frantically working with their favorite leakees in the “MSM” to discourage the Trump supporters and feed the doomsayers. . Relax, folks, and let the “Nattering Nabobs Of Nothingburger” do their usual thing. It is disconcerting to see even once-trusted venues like Fox (now increasingly Faux) News sniff the swalwell and slip and fall for the schiff — but just hang on. The truth will come out, the bad guys will be caught and punished, and all will be well.

From what I am hearing, Mr. Horowitz is going to deliver many pages of mush. The only person mentioned doing something wrong is the lowest Indian on the totem pole changing the words on the application. And then, the changes are characterized as not being significant.
IF these leaks are accurate, the report will conclude nobody did anything criminal.

I like Rush am somewhat skeptical that the IG report is the road map for all the DOJ/FBI/Intel community conspirators to go to jail. The "low level" employee could be the fall guy, giving cover to anyone who signed off on the FISA warrant. Comey, et al will say they were misled just as the FISA court was , and decry the rouge employee who altered the warrant application . I hope I'm wrong, but fear I'm not.

Horowitz's office is indeed invested in Swamp protection. It was Barr who snapped him with the damp towel and got him on the right track. That is why this report has taken so long to be finished. Barr made him redo much of it because Horowitz was pulling another snow job. Durham is indeed going to be the biggie.
Of course the media has not covered all the Horowitz corruption, because you do not expose the swamp unless you absolutely have to.
Disagree a little with #4. The leaks are to give fair warning to those named in the documents being dropped. IIRC, Durham is actually from outside the Swamp, and it is possible that Barr chose very well when he went outside the swamp for his investigator. One way to tell who is named, and just how bad it could be is if any of the players schedule a sudden out of the country winter trip to someplace that has no extradition treaties with America. Like Tahiti.

From today's Daily Mail Online:
"Inspector general's 'investigate the investigators' inquiry into Trump-Russia probe will NOT condemn James Comey and Peter Strzok, report claims—as FBI attorney facing criminal probe for 'altering email' is revealed to be anti-Trump texter."
But, (hold the wild applause) IG Michael Horowitz has determined that some FBI officials were "sloppy and unprofessional."
There's our Big Deal. Wow, what a bombshell. A low level nobody takes the hit and the Deep State moves onward and upward in their "sloppy and unprofessional" world.
Time to pack up the circus tents and leave town in a cavalcade of clown cars. And I hope they take all of the idiotic investigations, hopeless filings, whitewashed reports, and useless committees with them,

Oh come on. This is yet another easy clear cups and balls trick for the fidiots who vote sans brains. Horowitz's IG inspection will be set in stone by the Marxists as THE final word on Russia, which is of course, "nobody did nothin' wrong becept the janitor disguised as a lawyer who doctored an email" (and that janitor voted for Reagan!!! UUUUUGGGhhhhhhhh!), so he'll be the Monty Python witch to burn, and" just remember it did not affect the material nature of the FISA warrant which was as pure as the wind driven snow just like we all knew, blah, blah, blah."
Durham's stuff will be a scoonch more damning, adding one or two famous names like Lisa Page to the pizza but still, "nothing would have materially changed the FISA warrant like we've been saying, blah, blah, blah; Orange Man STILL Bad, blah, blah, blah."
Barr, on the other hand will probably undergo impeachment hearings by the Marxists for abusing his powers to reveal the identity of the janitor and aiding and abetting Orange Man Bad.
Half of the blithering idiot voters will accept it as fact, of course, and in the end, only rewards and book deals will be the consequences for Comey, Clapper, Strzok, Brennan, your favorite deep state Marxist's name here, et al.
The GOP is part of the fourth branch of government kids and nobody factors that into the mix. Mitch, Mitt and Ms Graham DO NOT want the truth to be put on trial. Worse case for the Marxists and best case for the Constitution is that the Senate will hire a bunch of retired senators to form a blue ribbon committee to fix the CIA, NSC, State department, FBI, etc to prevent janitors from changing emails. Rinse, repeat.
Gosh, how do I know this?

The report that the documents were altered is damning. Very damning. It wouldn't have been done without higher ups being complicit. The left wing media is trying to shape the narrative ahead of time to say that it was just a low level FBI employee doing the altering and he will be reprimanded. He needs to be threatened with Treason and made to sing about who put him up to it -- all the way up to Obama.

Baloney. We've been hearing for over a year how the IG report, which was coming out very soon now, was going to blow the lid off the slow motion coup attempt that has been taking place in DC. Oh yeah, people in handcuffs, wailing and moaning and gnashing of teeth, right? Nothing. Crickets. Oh, but when THIS one comes out in December, boy, that's really gonna set off the fireworks. Yeah, right. Here's a quarter - call me when something actually happens.

It’s already started. Headline today in my local rag: “Watchdog Faults FBI in Trump Campaign Probe” and then the sub headline, “but sources say the investigation finds no illegality or bias.” Rush is right: Horowitz comes from the same DC culture that is convinced it knows what’s best for the country snd must run things as they best see it for the nation’s sake (but, more accurately, to maintain their power).
Now we’re down to Durham, and I’m not holding my breath; rather, looking for a nice island to move to. Our chances of getting any true justice for the coup perps are fading fast.

Horowitz can see the writing on the wall. He is not going to sully his reputation for a bunch of traitors that are going to go down, and that Barr and Durham already have the goods on. He does not have access to everyone involved in this treason, and he does not know who may have flipped to Durham or a Grand Jury. Horowitz would look like a fool and disgrace himself. He already can retire comfortably, with dignity. The deep state has nothing else to offer him. If he wants post-retirement employment, he will get it regardless of the deep state. Plus, I doubt he wants to olive in a socialist or communist country.
The defeatist among us, who have already given in to the propaganda of the left and anti-Trumpers, should be ashamed of tossing in the towel already. I'm sure they will go silent when proven wrong!

Rush stated that he is “not all in on Horowitz” because Horowitz “is from the same group of people that have been testifying all week and last.” Rush’s contention is that if the release came as a surprise, the report would have been much better utilized but now, people involved have “time” between “now and then.”
