Chief Justice Roberts now dragged
into Democrat impeachment process

Original Article

The target of Democrat zealots in the House of Representatives lead by Speaker Pelosi and Adam Schiff is to impeach and remove President Donald Trump. Sadly for him the person they have a much higher probability of removing from his lofty perch is Chief Justice John Roberts. The famous cliché; the law of unintended consequences is fast approaching.  (Snip) Madam Speaker are you prepared to see Chief Justice Roberts step aside to become just an associate Justice while a new Chief Justice is selected and given the oath of office?

And wouldn't it be just the most delicious irony for that new presiding Chief Justice to be Judge Kavanaugh?

I hope someone posts an article which was posted on Gateway Pundit last nite at 9:18 p.m. The headline says: "GOP Leader Points to Committee Rule that Must Allow Republicans Day to Call Witnesses" (I thought I would post it here because maybe a lot of people will read this article.)

Roberts is a Democrat weasel. Thanks for nothing GW. Roberts speaks frequently about the court not being left or right, but he hasn't said a word about the FISA court abuse for which he is responsible, another act of weaseling, and winnowing. Roberts has the eyes of a weasel. Shiff and Pelosi the eyes of a crazy person. The eyes are indeed the window to what is inside. In these cases, nothing but rot, corruption, and deviousness.

As you people know, I hold Chief Judas John Roberts in low regard (to say the least) but I can't blame him for the ineptitude or dishonesty of FISA Court judges. As Chief Justice, what could he have been expected to know about filings before a FISA court judge?? Calling him as a fact witness would be a cheap trick worthy of Schiff Head, not Mitch McConnell.

Forgot to reply to #3. Very interesting! Hunter Biden! Joe Biden! Hillary Clinton! Eric CIAramella! The one problem I see is that the enemedia will decide not to cover hearings on the day that Republicans call in their own.

Unfortunately for the article's thesis, members of the Supreme Court are not bound by the ABA Code of Judicial Conduct, just the inferior federal courts (somewhat).

Yeah, let's take this moral code stuff to the Bar or the Supreme Court...we'll show Roberts and Schiff we're not fooling around anymore. Mitch isn't going to. Neither will Trump for the simple reason it isn't going to happen anyways. See what the polls are saying...and right now it's not good for the impeachment crowd and growing worse. If Roberts was indeed disqualified, the ranking justices in terms of seniority are Clarence Thomas, then Ginsberg.

#6, I may be wrong but it is my understanding that Chief Justice John Roberts is tasked as overseer of the FISC. He is responsible for what goes on in that secretive court. Therefore, I would assume that he had a proper handle on what was happening there.

#14, Seniority has nothing to do with it. Roberts was a Bush appointment. Thomas and Ginsburg have been around a lot longer than that.

FAR: ''As Chief Justice, what could he have been expected to know about filings before a FISA court judge??'' He may, or may not, have known at the time, although he should have. He is in charge. Even so, he knows now. What has he done about it? Has he caused the whole scam to be stopped because of it? He has done nothing to expose the problem, so he is complicit!

What a gift from heaven. I think Roberts should resign rather than be demoted. Then President Trump could nominate Amy Barrett the first female Chief Justice and still have time to replace FCA member Ginsberg. The left will destroy themselves if Trump gets 2 more appointments. Btw, FCA stand for Future Cadavers of America.

It would be a kick to see Ginsburg replace Roberts as Chief Justice. Then the world could see she is physically incapable of performing her duties during the impeachment trial.

#17 - The position of Chief Justice is a specific appointment that supersedes seniority. You may remember that Roberts was initially nominated for an associate chair to replace O'Connor, and then Rehnquist died. His nomination was upgraded, and Alito nominated to replace O'Connor. Seeing that Presidential impeachment is the order of the day, and the Constitution's specificity, it is not possible for the Senate to itself appoint a "special Chief Justice" to preside, nor will it be possible for the accused, i.e. the President, to offer such an appointment unless universally accepted. Seniority has always been the governing "rule", and would likely be acceptable, if not distasteful, to the parties involved. Anything else would ignite a crisis. It's an interesting conundrum. No trial; no conviction or acquittal.

I don’t think that the Supreme Court can decide who the Chief Justice will be. Since there is no provision in the US Constitution for an “acting” Chief Justice, if Roberts stepped down as Chief Justice, there would actually have to be a vacancy on the court for him to move into an Associate Justice position or seat. But if there is not an Associate Justice position on the court open for Roberts to take, he would have to leave the court. If that were to happen, it would be up to the President to nominate a new Chief Justice and for the US Senate to confirm that person. The House of Representatives would have nothing to do with that process beyond bloviating. All that could well take until June to seat a new Chief Justice with a Senate trial going on well into the run up to the 2020 election.

Her approach to reporting the story is a textbook case of confirmation bias. There is no substantiated evidence of any sexual misbehavior by Brett Kavanaugh at any point in his entire life. Several shaky claims have been made along these lines, but all of them are badly undercut by available evidence. None of them is more likely than not to be true.

Top officials in the US Navy threatened to resign or be fired should President Trump follow through with an order to keep disgraced Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher in the service, The New York Times reported. The threats from Navy Secretary Richard Spencer and Rear Adm. Collin Green, who leads the SEALs, left the Department of Defense scrambling for a compromise, the paper reported. Spencer says Gallagher should be judged by his peers. (Snip) Gallagher was convicted in July of illegally posing with the dead body of an ISIS fighter. The decision resulted in a rank and pay-grade demotion — and potentially the loss of his Navy SEALs Trident Pin.

The Democratic establishment despises the insurgent candidacy of Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii. From her decision to buck party orthodoxy and endorse Sen. Bernie Sanders in 2016 over Democratic National Committee favorite Hillary Clinton, to her constant criticisms of Democratic foreign policy mistakes, Gabbard has made herself no friends with the party elite. She's perfectly fine with that if it's required to put the people first. Still, this means establishment Democrats and their allies regularly smear and attack the Democratic congresswoman. But, as if we need more proof of how deranged the establishment’s hatred for Gabbard has become, the New York Times style section is now criticizing her… wardrobe?

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said lunch with President Trump was “delightful” despite a history of clashing with the president that stretches back to the 2016 presidential primary. Romney and Trump shook hands at the White House lunch Thursday, and Romney said there didn’t appear to be any signs of lingering tension between the two of them, even though Trump slammed the senator last month as a “pompous ass.” Romney, for his part, blasted Trump last month for calling on China and Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden as "wrong and appalling

In an interview with Reason’s Nick Gillespie on Friday, Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano said there was “overwhelming” evidence of impeachable actions by President Donald Trump. Napolitano said, “The Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee have unearthed enough evidence, in my opinion, to justify about three or four articles of impeachment against the president. We have to start this conversation by underscoring the fact that impeachment is not legal, it is political. Its only Constitutional base is treason, bribery, or other hard crimes and misdemeanors.”

Former Vice President Joe Biden threatened Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for launching an investigation into his activities with Ukraine while in the Obama White House, stating the Republican will “regret” the move his “whole life.” On Thursday, Graham sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo requesting documents to aid in determining whether Biden pushed for the firing of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin to squash a sweeping probe into Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy giant where his son, Hunter Biden, served as a board member. The younger Biden was compensated generously, making up to $83,000 a month for several years while on the Burisma’s board.

Three years after outsider Donald Trump blew up the political world with his implausible victory over the consummate insider, Hillary Clinton, many establishment Republicans still don’t get it. From their elite cocoon, they continue to indulge the hauteur that put off ordinary voters who had grown tired of a fossilized political class that serially ignored their interests, and seemed more concerned with their own insider perks and privilege, rather than in repairing the damage that decades of bipartisan progressive technocracy had inflicted on the Constitutional order. The grande dame of the disgruntled NeverTrump Republicans has been the Wall Street Journal’s Peggy Noonan, whose columns on Trump

Radical-left filmmaker Michael Moore said on an MSNBC panel discussion after the Democratic debate that his views now represent the "center" and "mainstream" of the Democratic Party. He also said that “The majority of Americans agree with me and Bernie on all the issues," which makes the "center" of the Democratic Party somewhere to the left of Karl Marx. "Bernie" is, of course, Senator Bernie Sanders, an avowed socialist and one of the top contenders for the Democratic presidential nomination. Democrats should probably tell Moore to

On Tuesday, November 19th, CNN anchor Don Lemon made a mind-boggling statement. He said, of the ongoing impeachment hearings, “I think on this one, the Republicans are on the wrong side of history, and they are the most hypocritical. I’m not a partisan. I know people think that I’m some liberal Democrat. I’m not.” He went on to say, “I don’t think the Republicans are serving themselves well.” Talk about hypocrisy! If Lemon isn’t “partisan,” neither were Hitler or Stalin. Lemon is to hypocrisy as Macy’s is to Thanksgiving Day parades. And it is the Democrats who are demonstrably damaging themselves with this carefully—if bizarrely-- orchestrated farce.
