Warren Would Massively Raise
Middle-Class Taxes — And Not

Elizabeth Warren has been taking heat lately for her refusal to state the obvious — that paying for her $34 trillion (and rising) Medicare for All plan would require a huge tax hike on the middle class. Americans for Tax Reform has helpfully gathered up 17 video clips of the Massachusetts senator dodging the question. It’s obvious why Warren doesn’t want to utter the words “middle-class tax hike.” She's smart enough to know Republicans would play that quote on an endless loop in every battleground state up until Election Day. But by focusing on Medicare for All, Warren’s critics are letting her off too easy.

So she would massively raise taxes on the middle class forcing them on to the welfare roles to makes ends meet likely raising welfare expenditures as much if not more than the tax revenue gained by the increased taxes. Brilliant, just what you would expect from the mind of a democrat.

And when higher tax rates result in lower tax collection what's your next move? We are still taxing beyond the point of bleeding the most out of our economy. Why do you think from Kennedy to Reagan to Bush to Trump tax cuts have resulted in more tax collections? And you don't think putting that in reverse will lower tax collections? The extreme endpoints are easy top grasp, 0 tax rate 0 taxes collected. Taxing 100% Soviet Russia, not so prosperous. Between simple logic and the historical record it it not abundantly clear that tax collections are maximized somewhere between 0 and 100% and then is it not abundantly clear that any move from that point in either direction will decrease tax collections? And since in my entire lifetime tax cuts have resulted in increased tax collection is it not also clear that we have been off of that point toward taxing above the maximum yield point for quite some time? All this babble about taxing more to hand out free stuff is hogwash. You can believe in free stuff and Robin Hood all you want but unyielding truths like laws of physics stand in the way. Economic illiteracy is the unprotected flank of the republic. I suppose our other flank is equally vulnerable, ignorance of history. "Collecting more taxes than is absolutely necessary is legalized robbery." Calvin Coolidge I'm not so sure where the absolutely necessary point is but I sure as hell know that taxing past the point of decreasing returns is pure theft. Warren promises to steal from you to help no one. Same for the lot of them.

The liberal Democrats have always touted that the rich are going to pay for all their tax increases. But when it comes to collecting those taxes they quickly find that there are not enough rich people who are pleased as punch to pay for those tax increases who have the wherewithal to hire accountants and lawyers expert in finding ways to ensure that those rich people do not have a big increase in their tax liability. In reality, the burden for funding tax increases always falls upon the vast middle class, who are the people who make the country go, after the Democrats exempt a good part of the population who they consider to be their historic constituency groups.

Products of academia have lots of ideas, an excess of theories and a conviction that some of those ideas and theories will work. Unfortunately for the nation, we are the test lab. Barack Obama showed us how rarely the ivory tower approach helps us and how often it proves devastating. Elizabeth Warren is an even more fervent believer. God help us if she is placed in charge.

Alwasy, always, ALWAYS, more and more OPM. Gotta get Other People's Money to give away. I read that if 100% of the money of the top 2% (or something like this) were confiscated, it still wouldn't come anywhere near being enough to fund their giant socialist schemes. They HAVE TO tax the middle class, there just isn't enough of "the rich" that, even getting a lot more per person, they can rake in enough to fund their giant giveaways. Less money collected per person in the middle class, but millions more of us.

2nd Post: Maybe Pocahontas can follow Cuomo's example. He and his traveling freak show of demonrats just pass laws mandating that counties pony up the money. They never fund their grandiose schemes making the State pay for it. That way demonrats can brag that they're keeping income taxes down. Property taxes are out of sight and grow by leaps and bounds every year. No wonder there's so many For Sale signs no matter where you go.

The Democrats’ Debate

Tuesday night’s CNN/New York Times debate of the Democratic presidential candidates was filled with propositions to radicalize American society, from confiscation of law-abiding citizens’ guns to adopting Canada’s single-payer health system but somehow “we’re going to do better than the Canadians do,” as Sen. Bernie Sanders promised without extrapolating, to imprisoning executives of companies that pioneer life-saving medicines. But, astonishingly, it also showcased casual discussion of the federal government adopting policies that would stab the Constitution of the United States in the heart – in particular those of Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

President Donald Trump has a love/hate relationship with polls, surveys and predictions. He loves the ones that paint him in a positive light, and, of course, he hates all those “fake” ones that don’t. He’s going to absolutely adore this one. According to Moody’s Analytics, Trump is headed toward another four years in the White House. And, if the numbers are right, it won’t even be close. In fact, his Electoral College victory could very well be wider than the 304-227 margin he enjoyed over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Since 1980, Moody’s has managed to nail the outcome every time but once — like many, it didn’t see Trump coming.

Up until now, I'd had a healthy respect for the books and academic work of Fiona Hill, the now-former White House Russia expert who testified in a closed-door hearing about her knowledge of Russia, Ukraine and Trump, apparently pretty negatively. I've read "Mr. Putin," her most important book, and while I didn't particularly agree with the sour picture she painted of Russia and President Vladimir Putin, she was pretty solid in her scholarship even if her assessments were exclusively negative. Now, it looks like she might just have a soft spot for Joe Biden, who wrote one of three blurbs for her 2012 book called "Mr. Putin," co-written with

When the news broke yesterday that Elizabeth Warren probably invented the tale of her pregnancy firing as a teacher, some benefit of the doubt was fair, given that an old tape of her describing the reason she left her job could have been incomplete, and maybe there was more than one reason she left the job. Welp. Now we've got the county records. The Washington Free Beacon went digging into the microfiches or the physical records themselves from the early 1970s, which is very challenging non-Google research doable only on location in Riverdale, New Jersey, and pretty well blew that Warren story out of the water.

With President Trump facing a high-risk impeachment, and far-left Democrat Elizabeth Warren now beating Joe Biden in national polls — including the latest IBD/TIPP poll — anyone on the productive side of the economy should be deeply worried, and ready to do anything to prevent Warren from getting the keys to the White House. Instead, some are already trying to make peace with the prospect of a Warren presidency. The chief of U.S. equity strategy for Canada’s RBC Capital Markets signaled on Monday that maybe an Elizabeth Warren administration won’t really be that bad. “Any pain from a Warren win is likely to be temporary,”

How do you campaign for an election that doesn’t exist? Or lobby against policies that you’re meant to support? In late Putinism, the answer is often to do so publicly, loudly, but deniably. Politics is in the air, after all, with a sense that the country's future, so long locked behind walls of conformity and conservatism, may be up for grabs. As I wrote in my last column, this also means debate has erupted within the elite, on everything from succession to stimulus, personalia to policy. Perhaps the most striking expression of this was the recent interview Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu gave to the middle-brow pro-government newspaper Moskovskii

Elizabeth Warren has a pretty impressive penchant for makin' it up when it comes to serving a leftist narrative. Fake Indian, complete with tales of discrimination experienced, worked for awhile, until it didn't. So did the fake research, claiming medical costs are the reason behind most bankruptcies. Nope, not at all. Now we have Warren saying that when she became pregnant as a young teacher of special-ed students, presumably in the 1960s, she was asked to leave her post for being visibly pregnant. A found tape of her speaking in 2008 suggests maybe she actually wanted to leave her dead-end job teaching special-ed to scale the career ladder instead.

The statement comes as a month of pressure has built up behind efforts to unseat the president over a phone call with the Ukrainian president. While Democrats insist, contrary to precedent, that they do not need to hold a vote, their unwillingness to hold one may show the impeachment train is skidding off the tracks. In the giddy early days of the “impeachment investigation” over Ukraine, Democrats saw the polls move in their direction.
