COLUMBUS - Xenophobia. Harassment. Arrests. Lawsuits. The fight over nuclear bailouts has become the strangest and nastiest campaign in recent Ohio history--and it hasn't even made the 2020 ballot yet. Monday is the deadline for Ohioans Against Corporate Bailouts to submit 265,774 valid signatures from at least 44 counties to block a $1 billion bailout of two nuclear plants in northern Ohio. The bailout is part of House Bill 6, which Ohio's GOP-controlled Legislature passed and Gov. Mike DeWine signed in July. The legislation would impose a new fee on Ohioans' electric bills of 85 cents per month for residential customers starting in 2021.

This sounds akin to 3 counties in upstate NY banning together to get the taxpayers to pay for solar, wind, geothermal costs for all churches, small businesses, and nonprofits to get it for free, otherwise known as Welfare for SB, Churches and Nonprofits. None of this is widely known by taxpayers. Politicians like to keep their tax and spend schemes secret. What I'd like to know is where is the Welfare for Taxpayers? Nowhere to be found, that's where.

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said nothing wrong or incriminating during a widely criticized news conference, according to radio host Mark Levin. (Snip) "There's an investigation going on, going back to 2016 and even before," Levin said, "by a U.S. attorney and by the attorney general, looking into the early aspects of the phony Russia collusion issue and Ukraine--and that's what [Mulvaney was] talking about--not Biden."

RUSH: I’ll bet many of you are saying, “Rush, please don’t waste any time talking about Pelosi’s stunt today. The whole thing was planned and the whole thing was strategized. That’s what this is. She doesn’t want to have to put this to a vote. She doesn’t want to go anywhere formal. She wants to try to get this driven by public opinion. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is being politically smart by holding off on a formal Trump impeachment vote on the chamber floor, according to Brit Hume. (Snip) A full vote, the Fox News senior political analyst said, would expose vulnerable Democratic lawmakers--especially those in districts won by President Trump in 2016--to a vote that could hurt them politically. This way, she gets to get all the fruits of this peculiar investigation that she announced going on, and none of the downsides," he said.

Yesterday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House of Representatives would not move forward with a vote on impeachment any time soon. The statement comes as a month of pressure has built up behind efforts to unseat the president over a phone call with the Ukrainian president. While Democrats insist, contrary to precedent, that they do not need to hold a vote, their unwillingness to hold one may show the impeachment train is skidding off the tracks. In the giddy early days of the “impeachment investigation” over Ukraine, Democrats saw the polls move in their direction. But those polls have now stabilized and in some cases crept back against impeachment.

TAMPA — The boy was 11 when the sexual abuse started. The abuser was his family’s 22-year-old live-in nanny. She sexually assaulted him at least 15 times over several months, according to prosecutors. In the fall of 2014, she gave birth to his child. Three years passed before the boy had the courage to tell his mother what happened. On Wednesday, the now 17-year-old father sat in a courtroom to watch Marissa Mowry sentenced to 20 years in prison for what she did to him. She must also complete 10 years of sex offender probation upon her release from prison.
