President Donald Trump has threatened to destroy Turkey's economy if the country goes "off limits" following his surprise decision to pull US forces out of north-eastern Syria. In a series of angry tweets, Mr Trump defended his move, which could open the way for Turkey to launch an attack on Kurdish fighters across the border. The withdrawal was heavily criticised even by Mr Trump's Republican allies.

Comments:

Even the Republicans don't want him to keep his promise to get us out of endless wars.

Sounds like something that Erdogan ought to take seriously.

It's not about the Kurds. No one mentions that US currently illegally occupies one third of Syria, the northeast portion that happens to contain the country's most valuable natural resources. The Kurds are located in part of this area. US effectively annexed this land without the slightest provocation. How would US like it if another country occupied a third of the US and planted their flags on US soil--as US does in Syria? Did you know US has massively backed Islamic terrorists for years in Syria, that terrorists were able to take over Idlib province in 2015 only thanks to US providing terrorists with TOW anti tank missiles? Does anyone care that US Pres. Trump to this day protects terrorists in Idlib? If Syria tries to rescue any of its millions of citizens from Idlib, Trump threatens a massive attack on Syria. Billions of US tax dollars have gone to Syria for so-called humanitarian aid. Did you know the US only allows this money to go to terrorist held areas? Starving children outside terrorist held areas get not a penny. Syria is about enslaving US taxpayers from birth to war profiteers. As to 'US security,' all it takes is closing the 2000 southern border. Congress loves terrorists too, won't pass the Stop Arming Terrorists Act. US terror sponsoring war machine must be funded privately and separated from US taxpayers.

Why are taxpayers giving foreign aid to barbaric countries ? If we are so bad, why isn't the UK, France, Germany or any other country stepping up to save the Kurds?

Turks will kill Kurds at every opportunity. Kurds were helpful in our fight with ISIS and are a staunch ally. As soon as we abandon the Kurds the killing will start.

If Erdogan thinks for one second that President Trump is like previous yellow-bellied administrations (particularly Barry's) he's in for a surprise.

This tweet isn’t passing my smell test. I wonder if Trump’s Twitter account has been hacked to add “...that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom,...”. If it was a hack-job there will be a great silence descending across media land, followed by the usual shrug.

President Donald Trump presented Ohio State University police officer Alan Horujko, a Fairfield native, with a presidential Medal of Valor on Wednesday for shooting to death a knife-wielding Somali refugee on Nov. 28, 2016, after the attacker had wounded 13 people on campus. During a White House ceremony to award medals to 14 public safety officers, Trump gave Horujko his medal, the highest decoration police officers can receive. Horujko shot Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a move university officials said prevented an even worse attack.

The U.S. embassy in Baghdad was the target of a rocket attack late Sunday, days after the Trump White House ordered American diplomatic personnel to pull out of the country. Iraqi military officials confirmed Sunday a single Katyusha rocket landed near the parade grounds inside the heavily-fortified Green Zone in the Iraqi capital, which is home to the U.S. embassy as well as the main headquarters for the American-led coalition battling the Islamic State. Iraqi officials confirmed a single rocket landed inside the sprawling diplomatic compound, landing a few hundred meters from the U.S. embassy,

A radical Muslim terror group called National Thowheed Jamath was blamed Monday for the devastating suicide bombings that killed at least 290 and injured 500 in Sri Lanka. Cabinet spokesman Rajitha Senaratne said that seven suicide bombers from the domestic group were behind the coordinated attacks — but insisted overseas terrorists likely helped. “We do not believe these attacks were carried out by a group of people who were confined to this country,” Senaratne said. “There was an international network without which these attacks could not have succeeded.”

A Maryland man has been charged with stealing a rental truck that authorities say he wanted to use to kill pedestrians at National Harbor in Maryland, near Washington, D.C. Federal prosecutors on Monday accused Rondell Henry, 28, of Germantown, Maryland, of planning to carry out the attack. He was arrested March 28 after surveillance video showed him parking and getting out of a U-Haul truck that was reported stolen two days earlier, investigators said. "He said he wanted to carry out a Nice-style attack," a law enforcement official said...

The caliphate has crumbled, and the final offensive is over. While the official announcement hasn’t yet been made – Fox News has been told that this village, the last ISIS stronghold, is liberated. It’s the first time since we’ve been here in Syria for five days that the bombs have stopped dropping and the gunfire has disappeared. We have witnessed the end of the caliphate – the brutal empire that once ruled over 8 million people – is gone. Troops here are now bringing down the black flags of ISIS. The flags no longer fly over the town, instilling fear.

I am nonbinary. I was assigned female at birth, but my gender is neither male nor female. When my ex-partner and I were trying to conceive our first child, I had not transitioned yet and was still identifying as a woman. We were a same-sex lesbian couple searching cryobanks for the perfect sperm donor. I was ready and excited to have children, but the idea of pregnancy terrified me—repulsed me, actually—but my then-partner was excited to carry a child, so we shopped for sperm. I joked that the idea of lesbians needing sperm to start a family was

To end it, we have to change. That means we need to have a real conversation about decarceration & prison abolition in this country.”Ocasio-Cortez continued, claiming without evidence: “Yesterday morning I spoke with a woman

KYIV (Ukraine) – Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden received $900,000 for lobbying activities from Burisma Group, Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada member Andriy Derkach said citing investigation materials. Derkach publicized documents which, as he said, "describe the mechanism of getting money by Biden Sr." at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine's press center in Kyiv on Wednesday. "This was the transfer of Burisma Group's funds for lobbying activities, as investigators believe, personally to Joe Biden through a lobbying company. Funds in the amount of $900,000 were transferred to the U.S.-based company Rosemont Seneca Partners, which according to open sources, in particular, the New York Times, is affiliated with Biden. Washington - Each state in America has an official state bird, usually an iconic species that helps define the landscape. Minnesota chose the common loon, whose haunting wails echo across the state’s northern lakes each summer. Georgia picked the brown thrasher, a fiercely territorial bird with a repertoire of more than 1,000 song types. But as the planet warms and birds across the country relocate to escape the heat, at least eight states could see their state birds largely or entirely disappear from within their borders during the summer, according to a new study.

While the Supreme Court heard arguments on Tuesday about whether sex discrimination, as codified in the 1964 Civil Rights Act, also applies to sexually fluid people – intersex, transgender -- activists protested outside the court proclaiming that sex is not based on biology. LGBT activists yelled, “trans women are women” and had several speakers lecture on gender diversity. On the other side, the conservative group Concerned Women of America pressed that changing the meaning of “sex” in the Civil Rights Act “would greatly undermine the women's movement.” They held signs that read, "Sex is not Gender."

Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke has not met the polling threshold for the MSNBC/Washington Post debate in November. The Democrat National Committee has required that candidates hit at least three percent support on four qualifying state or national polls, or five percent in two qualifying state polls. NBC News revealed that O’Rourke had not yet reached the polling requirement to participate in the MSNBC debate, as well as former Housing Secretary Julián Castro, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota. Recent polls show O’Rourke still struggling.

With its spouting geysers, majestic mountains, awe-inspiring waterfalls, and panoramic views, Yellowstone National Park has the undeniable power to uplift. But it also has an unparalleled potential to destroy. Concealed beneath the park rests the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest supervolcano in North America. Each year, millions of visitors trek over a massive magma chamber that, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), stretches from 5 km to 17 km beneath the surface and is about 90 km long and about 40 km wide. A little deeper rests another chamber that's 4.5 times larger. The Yellowstone supervolcano has unleashed three cataclysmic eruptions in the past 2.1 million years;

Who knew there were so many ignorant people in the world? In the latest edition of La Repubblica, Pope Francis' longtime atheist friend and interviewer, Eugenio Scalfari, claims that the Pope told him that once Jesus Christ became incarnate, he was a man, a "man of exceptional virtues" but "not at all a God." The teaching of the Catholic Church and most Christian churches is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was incarnated as fully man and fully God. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church states, "The unique and altogether singular event of the Incarnation of the Son of God does not mean that Jesus Christ is part God and part man, nor does it imply that he is the result
