Trump pulls back troops
from northern Syria ahead of Turkish assault,
Pentagon officials 'blindsided'

The White House announced late Sunday that Turkey will soon move forward with a planned military operation in northeast Syria, as U.S. troops who have been deployed and operating with Kurdish-led forces in the area began pulling back from their positions. The decision sent shockwaves through the region and Washington, with U.S. officials telling Fox News that top Pentagon officials were “completely blindsided” and “shocked” by the order to pull back hundreds of U.S. troops, a move that effectively green-lights the Turkey operation.

Looks like time for a showdown between the Kurds and Turks. As President Trump noted, "The Kurds fought with us, but were paid massive amounts of money and equipment to do so. They have been fighting Turkey for decades. I held off this fight for ... almost 3 years..." What's NATO to do? Meanwhile, anonymous "U.S. officials (told) Fox News that top Pentagon officials were 'completely blindsided.'" Somehow, I doubt that.

Our job was to help get rid of ISIS. No need for "nation building." That part of the world will always be a bottomless pit of tribal warfare and religious strife. Islam is a religion that was created by a lewd, immoral pedophile to justify his unnatural proclivities. Men are corrupted by making sin the problem of women and children, blaming and punishing them for tempting the immoral men. If that doesn't work, that convert or die thing, coupled with you leave, you die, keeps a steady supply of Muslims coming into the fold.

Maybe if the people who work at the Pentagon paid more attention to what their President has been saying for three years about endless wars they would not have been caught off guard.

Oh poop! They are not shocked. The pentagon is too big for it's worth. They represent the war machines and men. But they knew...cause it has all been discussed before. Frankly, it is time for the Kurds to take over if possible. Fox is adding emphasis. Nothing is done in the govt that is shocking. If they all get too carried away (as has been the practice for about 1500 yrs with muslims) we will end it quickly....without a bunch of boots on the ground. That is the best we did in the beginning after 9/11, but then got talked into the long war. Shocked? BS! Trump has been saying for a long time.

Even the micro-managing Lyndon Johnson did not blindside his generals with ubattlefield decisions. A few months ago the President told an audience of Navy officers and enlisted aboard a cruiser that on the basis of what he learned that morning from a guide aboard an aircraft carrier he was going to order the Navy to cancel all retrofit orders for carrier launched-aircraft systems. No discussion with DOD needed. It is such regular impulsiveness that is at the root of 90% of his political problems. And if because of it we end up with a socialist president, God help us all.

The President is the Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces and is the ultimate decider on where those forces are deployed. Just because a few unidentified janitors on the third floor of the Pentagon were not aware of a Presidential decision involving removing US troops from Northern Syria does not mean much.

Doing the same thing with the same result is not a smart strategy. We have spilt enough blood and treasure in the Middle East and what has it benefited the United States? They say we are safer but I seriously doubt the Deep State’s commitment to our safety if they are more than willing to bring the thousands of young men here. And for what reason? There is no good reason to bring these tribal warring throngs into this country especially since they see this country as the Great Satan. We are their enemy and the insane policies that BHO put into place just gives them access. The Deep State and Rinos would have us there indefinitely fighting not to win but to manage. That is not good enough for most Americans. We are sick of sending our finest to be killed and maimed for the pleasure and profit of the warring class in this country. Enough!

I say we bring all our troops home, put them on the border, and nuke the whole arab world, just to be sure. (just kidding! I can dream can't I? When anyone asks, and I say "I am for world peace" I just can't think of any other way to do it) I doubt very much that the Joint Chiefs or those in charge of operations were blindsided. A whole bunch of Perfumed Princes, who were infiltrated in to leadership positions by clinton and obama, might have been.

The electric cats have pretty much proven to "not be ready for prime time" so to speak. Steam cats work perfectly, and this iteration of electric cats are not working, and preventing the ship from becoming fully operational, apparently. IMO, if they cannot sort these cats out in some reasonable period (probably the REASONABLE period has already passed) they need to rip them out and put in steam cats. A carrier without reliable catapults is useless.

This is the way it's supposed to be. Every military action doesn't have to turn into a 25 year commitment. Remember when the media tried to scare us into thinking Trump was going to get us into World War 3, 4 & 5? Now they are trying to scare is that he won't.

It was June 11 when a teenager showed up at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin short of breath. He had lost a lot of weight, was fatigued and couldn't do routine activities. A chest X-ray showed something doctors found odd: interstitial pneumonia. Unlike the more common viral or bacterial pneumonia that infects one or two of the lungs’ five lobes, interstitial pneumonia looks like a complex spider web crisscrossing the entire lung. “It's usually associated with bad disease,” said Michael Meyer, medical director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

One of the factors that has kept Bob Uecker in the radio booth for the Milwaukee Brewers well into his 80s is the manner in which players have treated him as one of their own. But, when the players put their money where their mouths were last November, it stunned Uecker, moving him to the brink of tears. When deciding who would get full playoff shares after the Brewers advanced within one game of the World Series, the players voted to give one to Uecker, which was worth $123,000.

Upset at what he called preconditions imposed by the National Football League, quarterback Colin Kaepernick at the last minute moved his scheduled tryout on Saturday away from the Atlanta Falcons training facility to a local high school where media could attend. The former starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers is seeking a return to the NFL three years after his protests against racial injustice roiled the sport. He has contended that teams would not sign him because they wanted to distance themselves from the protests, which U.S. President Donald Trump blasted as unpatriotic and disrespectful. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, amid the largely laughable testimony of the diplomats — can you say heavy on the hearsay, guys? — came out with her own largely laughable conclusion of all that hearsay testimony and said: President Donald Trump is guilty of bribery. She even found him guilty of confessing to bribery. Who knew Pelosi, at her advanced age, could perform so many contortions? This has to be the greatest acrobatic spin in political history. “The bribe,” she said, in a widely reported news conference on the heels of the first public impeachment hearing, “is to grant or withhold military assistance in return for a public statement

Until a month or so ago, virtually no one outside of the seven circles of hell that is the State Department had heard of Marie Yovanovitch. Even the intrepid John Solomon had not heard of her until March of this year. He had interviewed Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko who told him that Yovanovitch gave him a "do not prosecute" list the first time he met with her. He was angered by her list which he justifiably saw it as interference in Ukraine's government. He felt she was meddling in their anti-corruption investigations by telling him who should not be investigated.

TAMPA — From the moment the NFL announced its hasty plan for a Colin Kaepernick workout this weekend, the questions have been flying. After all this time, why the sudden rush? Did some team request this? How many general managers will show up? Is this simply a ploy for atonement by the NFL? Yet, around here, a more important question needs to be asked: Can Kaepernick help the Buccaneers? It’s an interesting and legitimate question with, at this point, no clear answer. Kaepernick has not been in an NFL uniform in nearly three years so it’s worth wondering if his skills have atrophied.

This is very close to admitting that their ultimate goal, of removing president Trump from office will not be achieved. The reason this would mean game over for the removal effort is that only a significant uptick for impeachment in polling, especially among Republicans who have been rock solid in support of Trump, could lead to GOP votes to convict in the senate.
