The National Weather Service is

To fully appreciate the significance of what happened last week with Hurricane Dorian, Alabama, a reckless President, and a federal science agency, you have to understand the trajectory the National Weather Service has been on. In 2011 there was a massive tornado outbreak in the Southeast United States. The events killed over 300 people. That same year during an EF5 tornado in Joplin, Missouri an additional 161 people died. By all measures, the Weather Service did a brilliant job predicting, forecasting and issuing warnings for the storms. They had nailed the forecasts. Then NOAA and NWS did something government agencies rarely do. They committed themselves to a significant change.

Comments:

CNN, through an Obama appointee to NOAA, wouldn't lie to us, would they? Perish the thought. This is what zero credibility looks like. Bray, Jackie, bray.

Sorry, Bray. I live in an area where inclement weather and weather disasters are just a part of life. So far, the overestimations by the NWS have lead to countless wasted hours, dollars and resources. But the good news for Braying idiots like Bray is the 'Boy who cried wolf' attitude towards the NWS is in full mood. Thus, when a big one hits and people get hurt, the NWS can boost and brag about how that one time prediction was right.

Tell us, Jackie, was Alabama at ANY POINT shown as possibly being in the warning cone of hurricane Dorian? It was. Personally saw it in the rapidly changing weather forecasts. National Hurricane Center archives prove it. It is not possible for any private citizen, including journalists, to know of and fully comprehend the magnitude of information being transmitted within the White House, so rapidly changing hurricane forecasts makes it totally understandable that such fluidity may not have allowed President Trump to be made aware of Alabama being removed from the path of hurricane Dorian. In no way was President Trump critical of the weather service forecasters—that implication was borne of Liberal-Leftist journalists and their visceral hatred of President Trump. To accuse President Trump as a “reckless” president is absurd. Until any Leftist-Liberal journalist amasses a business empire equal to that of President Trump, and LEGITIMATELY win an American presidential election, there is no basis whatsoever to accuse President Trump of being “reckless.” What Liberal-Leftists do not understand is reality, discipline, and integrity.

Does CNN have nothing better to do than beat this dead horse? Everyone knows Trump was correct and nobody cares if the White House (a very nice building) got involved with having NOAA or NWS or whatever correct the initial story.

It's really getting crazy. In NOAA's backing of the president, they included their proof with a time progress chart that went to Sep 2nd. It clearly shows that FL,GA,AL,SC and NC were in the probabilities zone. The NWS is subordinate to NOAA. NOAA was briefing Trump. NOAA told Trump their opinion. Trump tweeted that on 31 Aug. 2 hours later, a snowflake came up with his own forecast in defiance to the published maps. On his own he decided to make political hay. Had the highly unpredictable hurricane have turned on Alabama, this would have caused more confusion. NOAA should fire that NWS forecaster. This is such a nothingburger, but the folks who hate Trump are scorched earth. We need to do the same thing. Trump understands that. He fights to win.

Unfortunately, CNN does matter even though only 36 Americans watch it outside of airports. It is the only news of America that many countries get and that is just plain propaganda.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack on the Twin Towers there must have been the hope that September 11 would become a "never again" moment, a mistake not to be repeated, after which the glorious march into the 21st century could be resumed. However September 11 showed not only that radical Islamism would haunt the new century but a burgeoning technology combined with elite nihilism could produce threats from seemingly out of nowhere. If the planes hitting buildings were that September's top note biological warfare was clearly the middle note. "The 2001 anthrax attacks, also known as Amerithrax from its FBI case name, occurred ...

What happened to America's

Not since Pearl Harbor did Americans unite with righteous anger against a foreign aggressor as they did after 9/11. The young people of America would have rallied around the flag and marched anywhere their leaders asked them to in order to avenge the murder of thousands at the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. How did we fall from a crest of patriotic spirit in 2001 to the demoralization of 2019? The main culprit is the Republican Establishment. A recent Wall Street Journal/NBC poll found: Among people 55 and older, for example, nearly 80% said patriotism was very important, compared with 42% of those ages 18-38

She quoted Northam: "If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen, the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable.

BAGHDAD - At least 31 people died and another 102 were wounded on Tuesday during the Shi’ite Muslim religious rituals of Ashura in Iraq’s southern holy city of Kerbala, in what officials at its Imam Hussein shrine described as a stampede. The death toll released by the Iraqi Health Ministry was expected to rise, with at least nine people still in critical condition. Thirty people died on site and one more died in hospital, the Health Ministry spokesman said. The ministry did not disclose how they had been killed but shrine officials told Reuters the stampede took place towards the end of the procession,

Our age loves scientific equations. Here's one you weren't taught at college but which affects you as much as the law of gravity: GI - W = E Good Intentions (GI) minus Wisdom (W) leads to Evil (E). You weren't taught this rule at college because the modern university believes only science has rules. "Rules of life" is another term for wisdom, and there is no wisdom -- or even pursuit of wisdom -- at our universities. Life has rules just like the natural sciences do. Examples include: Ingratitude makes happiness impossible. Corrupt people think everyone else is as corrupt

Few things exist on which there is more BS spoken than gun control. It's highly unlikely, indeed almost impossible, that confiscating weapons like AR-15s or similar will do anything at all to combat killings, mass or otherwise, in the USA or anywhere else for that matter. People who are crazy enough to want to mass murder will, unfortunately, find a way. You only have to look to Paris, where personal gun ownership is virtually illegal for private citizens and multiple dozens of people were murdered by jihadis at the Bataclan Theater and across the city, or Chicago, another supposedly gun-free zone, relatively anyway, where five were murdered and at least 29 wounded

As President Trump is wont to say, we’ll see what happens. What is now happening is a turn to a pre-9/11 security footing. Notice, I said a turn, not a return. Early Monday morning, Donald Trump tweeted: “94% Approval Rating in the Republican Party, a record. Thank you!” Where the president got this specific number remains a mystery. Recent polls by YouGov put his GOP approval roughly ten points lower, and Gallup, which has tracked Trump’s popularity since he took office, puts him at 88 percent. But I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised that Trump used his Sharpie to round up his score. He’s deeply invested in being — or at least claiming to be — the most popular Republican president in history.
