The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, otherwise known as NASCAR, has reportedly started to take a "gradual shift" on its stances surrounding the Second Amendment.
The revelation comes after multiple gun companies have said that NASCAR, which has a primarily Republican base, banned them from running advertisements that feature guns.
"Dark Storm Industries said an ad it submitted featuring one of the company's AR-15s was rejected and online retailer K-Var Corp. said an ad featuring an AK-47 and 9mm handgun was also rejected," The Washington Free Beacon reported. "Both said a NASCAR advertising agency solicited ads from them for NASCAR publications. They submitted ads but were told

They WILL further damage their sport. They have been slowly strangling it by eliminating the differences in cars for a number of decades. All cars have the same chassis, same suspension, same brakes, same engines. They have SLIGHTLY different external skins, SOMEWHAT suggestive of the "brand of car" - of which there is not even one single part made by that company other than the bare engine block. No Chevy parts in a Chevy, no Ford parts in a "Ford", and no Toyota parts in a "Toyota" - other than that bare block, and the heads are NASCAR heads and all the other engine parts are from various racing suppliers.
ONE "stock" part in the whole car. So their performance is essentially identical leading to boring, boring racing.
And now they want to insult their fan base. Brilliant. Bill France spinning in his grave.

I guess NASCAR wants to commit suicide.
Lie-berals are never going to be NASCAR fans. So if you alienate your entire conservative fan base and drive them away, you have nothing left!!!!!!

NASCAR has been on the downhill slide for a while. They got caught paying off Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition, They've allowed teams (which arguably led to Dale Earnhart's death, they required restrictor plates that limit speed, banned Rebel flags, and so on. They did away with the Winston Cup as well. My DH used to live and breathe NASCAR, now he can take it or leave it, mostly leaving it. He usually tunes in to see the last 10 laps of a race and then turns off the TV.

Your DH has learned, as have many fans, that with the current stupid rules in NASCAR, ANYONE can luck into winning in the last 10 laps, so no point in watching the earlier part.
The cars used to start as an actual body shell made by the actual car maker on an assembly line. The engine, transmission and rear axle had to be production items...."race prepped" for sure, but no racing parts manufacturer's transmission or head permited. If you you wanted to go faster, make a better motor, if you wanted to survive, make a better transmission, better suspension. Yes, there were extensive roll cages built inside the cars for safety, and they stiffened the cars a lot, helping performance.
Go back to using a REAL stock-ish car, with engine, transmission and suspension from the car's maker's parts bin.....the interest will come back.
And don't spit on your fan base's politics, either.

You’d think they would have learned something from the NFL and Gilette, among others. Go ahead, NASCAR - get woke, go broke.

Does any sport have the guts to tell the race baiters, alphabet people, feminazis, gun grabbers, and all the rest of perpetually offended to just fold it in five corners and shove it where the sun don't shine?

We kind of knew this already when that female driver who caused a wreck during a race got all upset because the guy she crashed into got upset with her and cussed her out. That is what happens when you run with the big dogs, and women need to get a grip and realize that.

While this may be true, I don't recall ever seeing a gun manufacturer with a visible sign on any race car running in NASCAR as a sponsor.

Oh why!!!??? These leftists are not the majority; why does everyone bow the knee to them and not the flag and our Constitution? They're the craziest bunch around, ever, and yet they keep destroying everything the rest of US hold sacred. I'm not into NASCAR, but my dad was a drag racing champ, and I grew up in NC where Dale Earnhardt was (and is still) like a god or something. And, Tom Petty? Please. I'm sick of leftists.
