Perhaps when you think of the founding of the United States, you think of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Federalist Papers. Now, the New York Times wants to "reframe" your understanding of the nation's founding.
In the Times' view (which it hopes to make the view of millions of Americans), the country was actually founded in 1619, when the first Africans were brought to North America, to Virginia, to be sold as slaves.
This year marks the 400th anniversary of that event, and the Times has created something called the 1619 Project. This is what the paper hopes the project will accomplish:

So the new and ugly 'Slimes want "to"reframe" American history in accordance with the values of New York Times editors." Well, fortunately for me (and the vast majority of people on the Right side of the issues) we don't read the Slimeballs. And even if we somehow came across one of their rancid and fetid articles, we wouldn't believe anything it said. There, fixed the problem for ya, Byron.

In 1619, who would we have appealed to? A President or Congress of this "already established" country? Or a far away king of another country? Do territories have the right to govern themselves?
If America's capitalism is so dependent on slavery from over a hundred fifty years ago, then it would have stopped being effective long before now.

I suppose the 'Right Reverends' Sharpton, Jackson and Minister Farrakhan will be the Founding Fathers. And the Kenyan the new George Washington. Don't think it is a joke. They will do it!

The NY Times is no longer a news source. They only print leftist propaganda. Is there any way to force them to rebrand themselves to make them accurately show what they truly are?

The more subtle goals are exposed, "Our democracy's founding ideals were false when they were written." This simple statement is a foundation for throwing out the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. If the "ideals" were false, everything built on them is false as well. They want to rebuild the Country in their image, founded on Socialism, a more "pure" form of government based on concern for all the people.
The reality is, their new foundation is cracked. Socialism has NEVER delivered on its flowery promises. Instead it delivers tyranny. It delivers cruelty and murder. It delivers poverty. It delivers an emptiness of the soul. It delivers these things because it is fundamentally flawed and can NEVER deliver anything else. The Slimes and its advocates will claim that the "right person" could do Socialism "right". Remember BO was supposed to be that person. His wonderfulness was supposed to transform us. BO delivered nothing except failure and misery. The American People quickly voted away his support and blocked many of his actions so things didn't get as bad as they could.
Our Republic is not perfect but allows for self correction. Slavery is no longer allowed. Discrimination based on race is illegal. Women CAN vote and participate as well as all races. The "way things work" is constantly in flux, seeking improvement.
Compare that to Socialism where, one implemented, starts on an ever downward path to destruction.
The Slimes is "reframing" itself to be a blatant, dangerous, propaganda tool.

I saw an interesting one sentence letter to the editor in the Wall Street Journal yesterday that asked what is the difference between racism and identity politics.

This is a very real and very disturbing example of the left's newest tactic---they are taking things out of HISTORICAL context. They are trying to convince the masses to judge HISTORY with TODAY'S eyes. They want us to see past events through their contemporary lenses of ISMS--- BEFORE anyone knew what an ISM was.
In order to understand the past, we need to know the influence of time and place on events. Critical thinking requires careful consideration of historical context. Without it, we will see only a partial picture and can easily reach the wrong conclusions.
The big question is whether or not the left is removing historical context deliberately.

Not in this article, but in a previous one, it was stated that a ship landed in 1619 with 20 or 30 slaves, which resulted in the founding of this nation.
If that ship began this country, how did that happen?? A ship sails up to an empty shore, unloads some slaves, and they built the US.
Why didn't they just run away, if there were no slave owners already here with plantations, homes, merchants and a functioning society in place??
So, was it only the slaves who were the inventors, architects, industrialists, etc. who studied accurate history to repeat it's successes??

Let's see, in 1619 we were British and Indian. So the slave problem is for the British to handle.

It's a shame that the African people sold into slavery by their own country had to be slaves somewhere (America had a small percentage of the Africans sold into slavery), but there was a shortage of engineers, doctors, scientists, and other professions among them. Even so, America ended slavery and now the descendants of slaves account for many professions.
However, democrats continue to marinate themselves in (supposed) anguish over something that ended long, long ago. Not to mention that the democrats are the party of slavery and discrimination. All the elements of discrimination belong to democrats: The KKK, Jim Crow, segregation, etc., etc. Even now the democrats work hard to keep minorities poor and dependent. They stir the pot of racism.
Yes, the democrats desperately want to re-write history to contain many lies and distortions. They want deniability for their horrible treatment of minorities. Absurdly, they now actively, blatantly discriminate against Jews (they used to keep it low key.) We will not allow democrats to make a lie of America!

Having ancestors that were part of that group of people sold as slaves (NOT indentured servants) on both side of my family, I have personal interest in that event.
i recommend reading the book "The Birth of Black America: The First African Americans and the Pursuit of Freedom at Jamestown" by Tim Hashaw. The official history of this event has been lying from the beginning about where these slaves came from and who was selling them.
For one thing, those people were sold at the Jamestown Colony in direct violation of what the colony authorities (such as they were) ordered. For another, the slaves had started their journey on a SPANISH slave ship headed toward Mexico and destined for an early and ugly death in the silver mines. And the Africa they left was a lot more complex than what Kunta Kinte would have you believe.
If you are a Southerner with the surname Driggers, Sweat or Cornish - look to 1619.

They harvest history in a way similar to how they harvested votes in California: They pick and choose only the historical facts that support their agenda, then weave them into an historical narrative that amounts to a massive lie.
