When figurehead Robert Mueller likely allowed Andrew Weissman to form his special counsel team to investigate so-called charges of Russian collusion involving Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and the Kremlin, Washington elites became bouncy. The high-profile legal “powerhouse” lineup immediately looked like a sure-thing—an elite slaughter of the yokels.
As they perused the résumés of the New York and Washington prosecutors, and the Wilmer-Hale veterans, reporters were ecstatic

Thanks for posting. This is a richly deserved Must Read. I do wish VDH isn't so reliably grumpy when he appears on television. Sometimes a smile is worthwhile.

This is delicious ! Dr. Hanson has hit it out of the park. As a veteran of approximately 200 federal jury trials, we have often described “elite” lawyers as technically proficient but they have the touch of a blacksmith !

In response to #3, if one reads the Bible specifically Proverbs, Ecclesiastes or anything about Solomon, a person realizes that wisdom comes only from God. The phrase in the article "but being progressive, woke, and highly credentialed is not synonymous either with intelligence or wisdom" points to the gap in understanding. If we want wisdom, we must have a relationship with God and we must read His word.
Donald Trump is not afraid to have a relationship with God. That is what drives Democrats, RINOs, and liberals crazy. They have appointed themselves as gods and everyone should fall in line. It is expected that all of them are falling all over themselves and what to do.

I love the Caddyshack reference comparing Devin Nunes to Shifty Shift. Although it is am insult to Judge Smalls

As a regular reader of Letters to The New York Times, I'm convinced that few of the NYTs' readers are aware of what VDH speaks. In the near future, I expect them all to be rudely awakened.

Excellent read. It boils down to the ruling class vs. the country class.

Public hangings are warranted here, though I doubt if justice will ever see the light of day.

VDH is masterful.
When your "organization" or movement whatever the left is, values above all, strict adherence to theology which is often in direct conflict with logic, you are bound to lose to those who have advanced in a structure where logical critical thinking is the path to advancement.

There was a time when I was impressed with a Harvard degree.
I now see them as either privileged brats or future political elite with handlers, who may or may not have qualified to get in, and may or may not have earned their grades while there. (i.e. George W. Bush and Barrack H. Obama).
What they don't realize is the deficiency in their reasoning skills that occurred, due to staying in their elite liberal bubble.

Beautiful, #4; OP; designating this as a Must Read; and all above Posters.
God is still sovereign!
“Just as Trump nobodies destroyed Mueller’s somebodies, and just as Nunes the farmer outperformed Schiff the Harvard law graduate, so too Trump press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders each day squared off against Jim Acosta and a mediocre Washington press corps.”
As a farmer milking 80+ registered Guernseys at 4am before school and 4pm after school, my MIT graduate, electrical engineering Dad, wanted to teach my brother and me critical thinking skills ‘on the job.’ VDH, also a farmer, lives in central CA near Congressman Nunes’ district and former farm, and gives him the credit he is due from all America, indeed our World.
The best is still yet-to-come, in all aspects.

The elites dismiss farmers at their peril. A good friend runs a farm here in NJ and is quite successful. He related a story about how the farmers here were concerned about some potential regulations concerning agriculture which could adversely affect their business. A meeting was arranged with the regulators, the farmers, and the activists promoting the proposed regulations to sort out everyone's concerns. Our friend related that the activists were quite surprised to learn that the people representing the agricultural interests were actually farmers because they were dressed in suits and carried briefcases, not the Mr. Green Jeans attire the activists were expecting.

A good review, and further proof that wasting money on highfalutin schools is just that, a waste. Idiot liar Schiff is from Harvard, and is still and idiot and a liar. Same for most of the other "dream team" folks who worked with Weissmann on the fake report.
Farmers actually have to produce crops, or in Nunes' case, milk, and excuses won't sell.

FTA: "One side saw it as a legal matter of proving an absence of guilt, the other as a political effort to fuel impeachment."
Mueller did his bit, and Schiff/Nadler/Pelosi got cold feet when they found they could not muster the political support to pass Articles of Impeachment to the Senate. Trump's greatest asset is that hardcore support that will keep him above 40% in the polls. If the Uniparty can break through that wall, the game is over. But time is running out, and the Uniparty has yet to create a breach. Expect an all-out offensive after Labor Day... Mitt stands in the wings.

FTA: “the legal agendas of the Mueller special counsel investigation were little more than pure politics, media hype, leaks, and had little to do with finding out with whom, if any, the Russians had been working to warp an election and sandbag a presidential campaign.”
Actually, it was much more focused than that. The Mueller team knew early on, if not from the outset, that neither Trump nor his campaign had any dealings with Russia. The Russian collusion story was just a ruse. The Mueller “investigation” was nothing more than a two-year-long obstruction trap. It was a continuous attempt to bait Trump into firing someone, denying access to someone, pardoning someone, withholding documents, anything they could characterize as obstruction of justice so as to set up impeachment proceedings in Congress. That was it, the all of it. But when Barr came in he knew immediately what he was looking at and shut it down.
Trump’s junkyard dog team of mutts sniffed out all the traps laid by the purebreds and pointed his way around them. Not to mention Trump himself, who swam with the sharks for 40 years as a New York real estate developer and not only survived but prospered. Not HIS first rodeo either.

The ''dream team'' suffered from the same malady as Hillary, the MSM, and the swamp: They are all conceited people who really believe they are better, smarter and more loved than they actually are. They have the unintelligent celebrity crowd and the MSM wannabes acting as their groupies, and we know what happens to people fawned over by groupies! They begin to believe what the groupies and hangers-on say about them, in their attempt to be noticed and accepted by their stars. We also know what happens to groupies when their rose colored glasses are smashed. The groupies never get accepted as equals by the self-indulgent and self-aggrandizing celebrities.

The simple fact is the Ivy League isn't what it use to be.
Once you get in,however that may be,it doesn't matter how little you studied.
Just enough to get your degree.
In more & more ways Ivy League people are such easy prey.
