Pushing Back

In response to my clarion call for citizens to push back against anti-Americanism and cultural assassins, several of you have asked how. Some believe the battle is already lost. Some think violent resistance is the only solution. I disagree with both mindsets. We are a Christian nation founded upon the rock of biblical principles. This is why, unlike any other form of government, our constitution has survived over 243 years. It is up to each of us to pray, asking God to reveal our personal role in restoring America back to His original intention for our exceptional great nation.

No, we were founded as a Christian nation which REQUIRED the force of arms for its creation. I wish the author had a better understanding of Old Testament history (the history of God's relationship with man and the bedrock upon which Christianity was founded). Then he'd know that violence - sometimes by God's angels themselves - was repeatedly necessary to cleanse Israel of perversity. I'd like to believe that the use violence would never be needed again in the cultural civil war which has perverted our nation and led it away from God - but I am coming to believe that is simply not true. Don't get me wrong - we are all to blame for having let matters come this far. But the willingness to take up arms for the sake of our founding principles has been the hallmark of America's history and we find most heroic those who have given their lives inn the pursuit of that need.

The Bible states that the use of the sword in needed in some situations. That the use of violence against the likes of Antifa hasn't happened yet is a sign that God's word isn't dead.

It's amusing but sad that today's democrats think that they have the brains and courage to reverse what a group of starving and freezing colonials fought the strongest army and navy in the world for and came out victorious due to strength of conviction and the inner strength of righteousness. Those people set an example that will never be forgotten and should solidify the determination in us to insist that those principles are maintained and we should be willing to fight with every weapon we have to keep them. Turn socialist, repeal the 2nd Amendment, become slaves to a corrupt one-world government? Over my dead body.

"God helps those who help themselves" is bogus. God helps those who ask for HIS help. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

Senate Republicans are reversing course and now taking a hard look at health care legislation to replace the 2010 Affordable Care Act in case the courts strike down former President Obama’s signature achievement. There’s a sense of urgency among GOP lawmakers to come up with a plan to replace the most popular components of ObamaCare after a panel of appellate judges on Tuesday aggressively questioned whether the law passes legal muster following Congress’ repeal of the tax penalty for not having insurance.

Liz Cheney. Lummis, also a former two-term state treasurer, was first elected to the House in 2008 and retired after the 2016 election. She was the only woman to serve in the conservative House Freedom Caucus when the group first formed in 2015.

After Republicans lost in 2012, failing to retake the White House and actually losing Senate seats despite a sagging Obama-era economy, two prominent analyses were proposed. One — the Republican National Committee’s “autopsy” — said the GOP’s problem was embracing social issues too much and liberal immigration too little. The other analysis — the “Missing White Voter” thesis — was grounded in actual data. It said the problem was that the GOP of the Bush family and Mitt Romney had turned off working-class whites to the point that they disengaged.

The rhetorical battle between President Donald Trump and Federal Reserve Board Chairman Jerome Powell is nothing if not amusing. But beneath the political theater is a darker reality: the longer-term drift of America’s economics from the old world prudence of the 19th century to the silly socialism of the 21st. The battle between democratic free markets and state socialism has deep roots stretching back more than a century to World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch (R-Idaho) is navigating a political tightrope as he tries to craft legislation on Saudi Arabia despite deep divisions between the Trump administration and Congress. Risch has been locked in negotiations with Democrats and the administration over the parameters of the bill, which is being discussed against a backdrop of congressional animosity with the Saudis following the country’s bloody intervention in Yemen’s civil war and its involvement in the killing of Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi.

In two essays, “Illness as Metaphor” in 1978 and “AIDS and Its Metaphors” in 1988, the critic Susan Sontag observed that you can learn a lot about a society from the metaphors it uses to describe disease. She also suggested that disease itself can serve as a metaphor—a reflection of the society through which it travels. In other words, the way certain illnesses spread reveals something not just about a nation’s physiological health but also about its cultural and political health. For instance, AIDS would not have ravaged America as fully as it did without institutionalized homophobia, which inclined many Americans to see the disease as retribution for gay sex.
