Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Wednesday was put on the spot as to who is more offensive: Snoop Dogg, or the country rock band Confederate Railroad. He did not choose Snoop. A day after the Pritzker administration defended its decision to bar Confederate Railroad from performing at the downstate DuQoin State Fair, the Democratic governor called the Confederate flag “a symbol of murder, of kidnapping, of rape.”(Snip)The rapper’s latest album, “Make America Crip Again,” features Snoop Dogg standing over a corpse with a toe-tag that reads “Trump.” That comparison was brought up by state Rep. Terri Bryant, R-Murphsyboro.

I don't know what the statistics are but I'm sure the amount of rapes and murders at least is quite disproportionately high among a certain group that was crazily freed by Lincoln with nowhere to go, and they ain't Confederate sympathizers.

If democrats were capable of embarrassment there would be a whole lot of wailing and sorrow being witnessed but all they have to do is claim they "misspoke" or can't remember and all is well. They once loved the Confederacy, the KKK and segregation but the history books must have been mistaken. One of these days you will be able to travel through West Virginia and not see one Robert Byrd sign.

And what does the flag of the City of Chicago symbolize? Given the number of murders that occur there each year, not to mention shootings that do not result in death, it sounds to me that the Chicago flag and the Confederate flag are pretty close in symbolism if I were to follow Pritzker's logic.

"tens of millions", I don't think so. According to the Census Bureau there we, at it's peak, around four million slaves here. I am not condoning this by any means, however, democrats seem to over state numbers when they think it will help them. By the way Governor, your party was responsible for all of the misery that slavery caused and the war that was necessary to stop it. I find the party name democrat offensive for this very reason.

It's the governor's job to decide which music group plays at a concert in a very rural part of the state? You'd think he would have more important things to do when IL is practically bankrupt and enduring massive tax hikes.

Kidnapping and rape?...what in hell is this idiot talking about? That flag is the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia commanded by Gen Robert E Lee who would have anyone under his command drawn and quartered for such atrocities. Which by the way I cannot say for you sir who tolerates murder rape and mayhem daily.

The rapes and murders he refers to would have been HIS party, terrorizing the newly freed slaves under the guise of the Klan. Which they created by the way. The Cofederate Battle Flag is a great symbol, but the Democrats and their racist terrorism since before the Civil 'War are not.

I will say without hesitation that slavery was an abomination. If not for the importation and subsequent breeding of slaves this country would be 100% better off. We would need only half the prisons and half the law enforcement assets, judges, cops, etc. we have now not to mention welfare and it's attendant freebies like SNAP and subsidized housing. We would also log only half the murders we currently suffer. As the saying goes, we should have picked the cotton ourselves. This will cause a large financial loss to the fair and businesses. I smell a lawsuit against Gov. Prick in the works.

The Illinois Senate has approved a sweeping abortion rights bill. The 34 – 20 vote comes amid a time when several other states have passed laws essentially banning the practice. The bill establishes a woman’s “fundamental right” to an abortion… and states that “a fertilized egg, embryo or fetus does not have independent rights.” It also repeals the Illinois abortion law of 1975, eliminating spousal consent, waiting periods, criminal penalties for abortion providers and restrictions on abortion facilities. The bill now heads to Governor Pritzker. He campaigned on a promise to make Illinois the most progressive state in the country for reproductive rights.

In January 1942, 11 Naval nurses and one Filipino nurse were taken prisoner by the Japanese. They spent nearly three years as POW’s in concentration camps where they continued to nurse the sick and injured. They were never formally recognized by the U.S. government as heroes. But to the men they cared for, their service will never be forgotten. The nurses became to be known as the 12 Anchors. Their selfless service never stopped. All of the nurses received the Bronze Star and a Prisoner of War medal. WGN’s Marcella Raymond has their story.
