Poll: Trump takes lead over Biden

Original Article

A new poll released this weekend shows President Donald Trump, the incumbent GOP president, has taken a national and battleground states lead over his Democrat challenger presumptive nominee former Vice President Joe Biden. The survey, from the Democracy Institute commissioned by the Sunday Express newspaper, shows Trump leading Biden 48 percent to 46 percent. What’s more, Trump has opened up a bigger lead according to this poll in the crucial battleground states, meaning the president by this pollster’s estimates currently is projected to win 309 electoral votes—more than he did in 2016.

Be still my heart. God, it's good to see a headline like this and a report that really is uplifting. Hope this makes it to the must-reads because it will make so many of us who understand the stakes feel a little better--even those who are certain of a landslide.

If you think you've seen panic and chaos on the left up to now just wait and see what will come if they know they are losing and, especially, after they have lost.

If reported polls are ahead, on the ground it is a wipe out. I expect a " national ticket" announcement from the 'Rats with Joe Dementia stepping aside for 'health ' reasons. Stepping in Hillary/ Cuomo.

I don't know the poll's sampling, etc., but a 2% lead probably means a 12-15% lead among likely voters. Fits what common sense has been screaming at me since March.

The polls show that most Americans believe the country is going in the wrong direction. Yep. But it would be going in a worse direction if the dims take over. But 2 % is within the dims cheat margin. In order for PT to get stuff done with need both the House and Senate. Maybe I'm nuts but I think both the WuHuFlu and the BLM thugs were crises manufactured to damage PT. The WuHuFlu was designed in a ChiCom biological weapons lab. And if you'll notice none of the BLM goons have a real job. Yet they have bricks delivered to riot sites and they have no money problems. If the Left wins and defunds the police I will have to walk around like Matt Dillion in Gunsmoke. We have less than 3 months to prevent America from going back to the Stone Age.

It is good to read this. BUT, work, donate, convince one unsure person in your work or neighborhood to vote for Trump, and most of all, vote, even if you have to crawl over broken glass in a snow storm. What seems like common sense to those of us who actually know what's going on all over this country (riots, arson, looting, not to mention the huge rise in crime in most major American cities) must remember, the media is downplaying the protestors/rioters and criminals, and doing everything they can to denigrate President Trump. (I know a family in Atlanta, who wasn't even aware of the rioting, looting, the shootings, the attacks on the federal building there, because the AJC was generally ignoring most of it or putting it on the back pages.)

The only reason that the country is thought to be moving in the wrong direction, whatever that really means, is really because of the Chinese COVID-19 virus that absolutely no politician in the world can control. That is a job for medical science, and if you have been paying attention, you should know by now that medical science at the moment does not have a clue as to how to stop the pandemic that the Chinese Communists unleashed on the entire world.

#3, 6, & 10 have it nailed. The big problem facing the Dems is how to appease the Bernie faction. For the Bernie Bros naming anybody but Bernie looks like a setup from the get go. Bent Bill praising Clyburn at the Lewis funeral for ending Bernie's run only reinforces the set up theory.

He was never actually behind. The majority of people don't think about presidential elections until about August or September of election year. Now that they are looking around, they see a senile old leftist, promising to wreck the economy, hiding in his basement, versus a President who has ALREADY made the economy the best in half a century, and who can do it again, they know.

Joe Biden delivered a solid, if overhyped, speech last night accepting his party’s nomination for the highest office in the land. It effectively put a cap on the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and summed up the Democrats’ case thus: Joe Biden is a good and kind man; Donald Trump is not. Biden’s decency has been hugely exaggerated, as my colleague Ramesh Ponnuru has explained at Bloomberg Opinion, but he does seem a Boy Scout compared with his opponent. (Snip) Trump and his team have played right into Biden’s hands too.

Until Thursday, Donald Trump’s reelection chances were not looking good. The booming economy — the lynchpin of his reelection campaign — lay in a COVID-induced coma, his near-daily jousting with a contemptuous press corps was yielding diminishing returns, and the Democratic leadership was salivating at running the cardboard-cutout version of Joe Biden against their hated enemy, trapped in the White House by the coronavirus panic. What a difference a couple of days makes. With the stunning announcement Thursday that the Justice Department was dropping all charges against Mike Flynn, Trump’s short-lived first national security adviser, the tables have suddenly turned.
About Those Press Conferences 46 replies

President Trump seems increasingly ambivalent about the utility of the daily and sometime marathon press conferences. He should be — and for reasons besides just their length and frequency. First, Trump gets bogged down into long, back-and-forth jousts with the touché Washington press corps. His impromptu skills, honed both as president and in his years on television, usually ensure him tactical victories. He is not peremptory but retaliatory in his put-downs. Fine. Most Americans don’t especially like the Washington press corps. So they don’t mind them earning the repartee that their rude provocation deserves. But Trump’s victories are becoming Pyrrhic.

Trump’s critics surely will disagree with his policies and decisions. But the last few weeks should make even them admit that, whether they cheer or jeer his actions, he actually is performing as president, and effectively so.

Those challenges are, in his words: “the worst pandemic in over 100 years. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The modern left-wing tactic of protesting at the private homes of their targets in an effort to intimidate them into doing what they want won’t work with Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. The police say they’ve banned protests from the mayor’s block and will arrest anyone who doesn’t leave. Lightfoot just isn’t radical enough for Black Lives Matter. She won’t defund the police (she didn’t just escape from a mental institution, after all) and refuses to condemn the officers for trying to keep order. I wonder if the fact that Lightfoot enjoys police protection 24-7 has anything to do with her reluctance to criticize the cops too harshly.

The water filter inside a household refrigerator is a simple device: a plastic tube packed with activated carbon. Nonetheless, replacement filters for certain GE refrigerators cost a stiff $55. And they need to be replaced every six months. So it’s no surprise that many GE fridge owners seek cheaper generic filters. These fit just fine. But when the owner presses the button to dispense water or ice, nothing comes out. The culprit is a bit of engineering almost as in-genious as it is infuriating. It seems that official GE replacement filters include a small RFID chip whose only purpose is to tell the refrigerator
