A band has been removed from the Du Quoin State Fair lineup. Confederate Railroad will no longer perform on August 27. The Du Quoin Weekly reports the band was removed because of their name. Back in June, Rich Miller with Capitol Fax, asked whether or not people thought the band playing at a state-owned facility was appropriate. Fair Manager, Josh Gross, told the newspaper the Illinois Department of Agriculture made the decision saying, "While every artists has a right to expression, we believe this decision is in the best interest of serving all of the people in our state." Haters gotta hate, even when it makes zero sense. Blacks are so racist, so childishly over wrought about something that ended over 150 years ago. Something that they READ ABOUT might have happened to a great, great grandfather or something like that. I'm sorry, I am not impressed. I doubt any person alive even TALKED to someone who had been a slave in the USA. And even if they did, SO WHAT? A historic thing has no direct bearing on these people, and they are just ACHING for some reason to be offended, whiney, expect special treatment and to beat on other people - for something that ended over 150 yeas ago. I am sick and tired of this, and it needs some firm pushback. Get over it.

''While every artists has a right to expression, we believe this decision is in the best interest of serving all of the people in our state.'' I suspect this decision was made by one person. There are no reports of demonstrations, petitions, or other dissatisfaction. If I was Confederate Railroad, I would lawyer up and sue the pants off the fair manager, and anyone else liable for this discrimination!

The AfroFuture Fest sparked outrage with its ticketing model for the August 3 event that saw people of color paying a maximum of $20 compared to $40 for “Non-POC” tickets. Biracial rapper Tiny Jag was so “enraged” she publicly withdrew from performing, and ticketing website Eventbrite threatened to bar the festival from its services, according to the Independent.

As contrived for the apparent purpose of embarrassing Joe Biden, Kamala Harris’ handwringer over racial-balance busing duly titillated the media. Who could suppose there was anything wrong with shipping children miles from their homes to satisfy what a federal judge said was the moral necessity of achieving a classroom mixture of black faces and white faces? And Biden had fought it at the federal level? The Homeric narrative thus organized itself around Sen. Harris’ account of “a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day. And that little girl was me.”

A decades-old mural in a San Francisco school will be removed from public view because of its depiction of Native Americans, the city’s Board of Education decided unanimously Tuesday night. The unanimous vote directs staff at George Washington High School to develop a project that would remove the 1936 mural by Victor Arnautoff from public view by either painting over it or using solid panels to cover it. Because the mural is painted directly onto the building’s walls, the mural must be covered and cannot be removed. To paint over the mural, an environmental impact report would be required, and that process could take a year and

In a weird twist on socialism, Bernie Sanders on Monday rolled out a plan to hand a $1.6 trillion gift to college-loan borrowers — who tend to be better off than the average taxpayer. He’d cancel all student debt, public and private — even for grad students and no matter the borrower’s income. Another $600 billion would go to make public universities and community colleges free. Sanders claims a tax on Wall Street transactions can raise $2.4 trillion to pay for it. But critics say the tax would lead to fewer trades — and generate far less revenue. Plus, many of those transactions are made on
