Actor Billy Baldwin raised eyebrows Wednesday after he blamed the recent spike in suicides among young people on President Trump. “#TrumpEffect,” Mr. Baldwin, the second-youngest of the four Baldwin brothers, tweeted. “You think I’m kidding? Kids today are living in a constant state of chaos because of this jackass.” The “Northern Rescue” star was responding to a CNN article citing a new report that said the suicide rate among 15- to 24-year-olds climbed in 2017 to its highest point since 2000, with the highest spike among 15- to 19-year-olds and young men. Total idiotic comment. I never heard of this fool. All real, measurable things in normal life are far, far better for all normal people under President Trump. Lower unemployment, higher wages, more jobs to choose from, lower food stamp use, all sorts of economic opportunities, which are the foundation of all family life, are far better. But this moron is an actor. Actors are so stupid that they have to get someone else to write words that they can memorize so that they can PRETEND to be an interesting character. Most of them are brainless, and have little actual education or personality. Certainly there are exceptions, and they are most the ones he keep their mouths shut and just live their lives off the big screen.

Another idiot Baldwin. I guess it's in the genes. I'm sure he never stopped to think that these kids are confused as to whether or not they are really of another sex, or wonder why they aren't gay or wonder if they show too much toxic masculinity or are not feminist enough, etc. Their minds are in chaos, not their surroundings.

Today's chaos in society is driving kids to suicide? There have been far more turbulent times in our history. Was youth suicide and epidemic during the Civil War, WW I, WW II, Vietnam? Today's kids are pummeled by media messages of gloom, doom, and destruction. Broken families don't give kids a real sense of security, especially if a parade of "partners" for the one who remains come and go over their formative years. Normal morality has been rejected leaving kids open to situations long before the are ready, leading psychological problems. And, I believe the biggest reason....God has been systematically removed from their lives. Without Him there is no hope, no way out, just despair. I was a kid during Vietnam, a lot of chaos in those years, I was afraid of everything. It was my parents, with their strong Faith and their experiences during the Depression and WWII who put it in perspective for me. If they could survive and thrive after all that, then I knew that I would too. Just listen to the differences between the messages of each Democrat and Donald Trump. Which candidate looks the the future with enthusiasm and hope? Just one.

Gads - talk about cognitive distortion & irrationality ! Hey, it is most likely that the rise in suicide among the young is that their parents & teachers have rarely encouraged them to be resilient & to think dispassionately. The kids are inundated with soundbites that are based on fallacious reasoning & emotional hysteria. Plus with the ubiquitous iPhone the kids are on social media all the time - losing the skills needed to connect in a healthy way with another human being. The girls are destroying each others reputations aggressively and the boys are playing games & watching porn. OTOT all are being fed a diet of pathological thinking. They & their professors are never challenged about the cognitive distortions accepted in the classroom such as over-generalization, magical thinking, catastrophizing & exaggerating (or dismissing) the importance of certain events, etc. etc. They are being lied to about all sorts of things. Psychologists, pastors, teachers & social workers have demanded we parents tell our kids this one lie in particular or we are bad parents! That lie is: "You are fine just the way you are, dear." No, they are kids, they are still growing & changing & they do not yet have skills & sensible answers. They have problems which are making them unhappy and they need to learn to deal with & overcome those difficulties. They have a divine potential that they need to fulfill. As you all well know, the idea of any human spiritual reality and ethics based on God's Love has been totally stripped from public discourse. Several years ago my husband & I were speaking for a HS comparative religion class. I quoted from 'Abdul-Baha in his Paris Talks: "Man is, in reality, a spiritual being, and only when he lives in the spirit is he truly happy." One of the kids in the front row just perked up with that and I realized that he had just put 2 + 2 together in the scheme of things. The hopelessness that leads to suicide is an evil creation most complex and has roots which run much deep - nothing to do with President Trump's tenure. (Other than the people suffering from TDS.)

The “Spanish Mission” bells were used between 1769 and 1833 to highlight the path of the 21 California Missions, which were constructed to evangelize Native Americans.
