Rep. Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, nearly collapsed while attending a Manhattan press conference with Mayor Bill de Blasio Friday. Nadler, 71, put his head down at the conference around noon and grew pale.“Code blue in the gymnasium,” someone said over the PA system at PS 199 on W. 70th Street where the mayor was announcing new traffic safety measures. The New York congressman was seated to the mayor’s left when he started feeling faint. Doctors who were at the event rushed to Nadler’s side and an ambulance was called. Event organizers cleared the gymnasium of over 100 guests and reporters.

I really do not wish Nadler any illness. But it WOULD be nice to see this caricature-brought-to-life of a Corrupt Congress-Critter OFF THE NATIONAL STAGE- Permanently! I am going to speculate for a moment. IF he is diabetic- and given his age and morbid obesity, it is highly probable, his blood sugar level may have fallen too low, which can make one feel pretty puny. Some sugar- and it does not have to be much- a piece of fruit, a swallow or two of some fruit juice or a regular soft drink, and after a few minutes you're pretty much back to normal.

Nadler hasn't looked well for some time. His pale color during this episode wasn't something new, at least as it appeared to me. If he was given a piece of orange (as reported), perhaps he is known to have problems with blood sugar. I wish him well –personally, not politically of course. He doesn't strike me as one of the more evil haters out there.

A friend, recently deceased, had worked himself into obesity, although nowhere near as bad as Nadler and had gotten trapped between diabetes if he ate and renal failure if he dieted. He had the stomach reduction like Nadler, and a huge boost in health for a few years. Then the renal failure slowly happened as did lung problems. The stomach reduction is at best a bandaid. It kept my friend alive for about 10 years or so, but the obesity had trigger a wide range of health problems. No idea if this is where Nadler is now, health wise, but he probably isn't really very healthy.

I just did a bit of research on Nasty Nadler. He is 5' 4" tall, and weighed 338 lbs (that he admitted to, probably more). He had his stomach surgery in 2001, so 18 years ago. But he only shed 100 lbs according to one source, may not be up to date. In any case, after being that obese for that long, and being 18 years since the surgery, he may have lots of other things going on in the way of health problems.

Robert Mueller says he was able to pinpoint security company executive Erik Prince’s precise location for several hours in January 2017 by matching his mobile phone signal to a cell site near Trump Tower in New York City. The special counsel’s report discloses the use of this investigative technique, by which police determine a suspect’s location via a cellphone’s GPS signal. The Prince narrative is one instance in unredacted sections of the report in which Mr. Mueller’s team explicitly discloses cellphone tracking. It raises the question of whether the FBI applied the process to other investigative subjects — a phone’s GPS signal can disclose its exact location within a few feet.

AT readers don’t need to be introduced to the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, the desperation measure concocted by the Democrats in an effort to make an end run around the Electoral College by pledging states to abide by the popular vote.Fourteen states, along with D.C., have so far passed the compact. The number of electoral votes controlled as of now is 189 – clearly, the promoters have been concentrating on large jurisdictions. The compact has 81 votes to go,

This summer, PBS Kids premiered an episode of the children's show Arthur in which a teacher, Mr. Ratburn, "marries" another male character. Even before this premiere, PBS was already infusing the LGBT agenda into its programming. In between its shows, a happy song about families included an image of two dads with a baby and lyrics to that effect. Disney and other children's stations long ago jumped onto the LGBT bandwagon with their line-up. As a Guardian headline noted in 2016, "From Nickelodeon to Disney: Children's TV leads the way for LGBT characters," with same-sex unions featuring prominently in shows. It is not just television,

The deal to avert tariffs that President Trump announced with great fanfare on Friday night consists largely of actions that Mexico had already promised to take in prior discussions with the United States over the past several months, according to officials from both countries who are familiar with the negotiations. Friday’s joint declaration says Mexico agreed to the “deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border.” But the Mexican government had already pledged to do that in March during secret talks in Miami between Kirstjen Nielsen, then the secretary of homeland security, and Olga Sanchez, the Mexican secretary of the interior, the officials said.

There are a lot of things about the way Oberlin College handled the Gibson’s Bakery dispute and lawsuit that have had me wondering who, if anyone, is in control over there.(Snip) In this context, there is nothing more baffling than a statement sent to alumni after the verdict by Donica Thomas Varner, Oberlin College’s Vice President and General Counsel. The statement was contained in a mass email sent to alumni (and possibly others) criticizing the jury verdict and repeating the same stale defenses that failed at trial (emphasis added):(Snip) Procedurally, the email is baffling because the trial is not over.

In a post on Twitter Saturday, Biden, now a presidential candidate himself, wished Obama happy “#BestFriendsDay” with a picture of the bracelets he used to celebrate his former boss's 55th birthday.(Tweet)Biden and Obama have been not only an iconic meme duo, but also “friends for life” after the two shared eight years in the White House. "All those memes? All those memes are basically true,” Biden said during a campaign rally for Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum’s
The Stacey Abrams Myth

Stacey Abrams’s refusal to lose the Georgia gubernatorial election graciously was one of the low points of the 2018 midterms. But her insistence that Brian Kemp and the Republicans stole the election from her has now become an article of faith among Democrats. Democratic presidential contenders who traveled to Atlanta this week to speak to the African-American Leadership Council repeated the claim, which Abrams has made more than a dozen times since she lost to Kemp by 54,723 votes last November. In rote fashion, they repeated Abrams’s charges that the outcome was determined by “voter suppression” conducted by Kemp, who

Lake Erie and Lake Superior — two of the five that make up the Great Lakes — broke records for water levels this May. Lakes Michigan and Huron could follow suit. Naturally, climate change is getting the blame. “We are undoubtedly observing the effects of a warming climate in the Great Lakes,” says Richard Rood, a University of Michigan climate scientist. But just a few years ago, climate scientists were insisting that a warming climate would cause water levels to decline. In 2008, Science Daily reported on a study that attributed the decline in Great Lakes water levels to global warming.

Occasionally, when the time is right and fewer people are watching, Fox News tosses a few Donald Trump critics into the mix. They generally receive airtime in the middle of the day—where the more moderate hosts Shep Smith and Bret Baier hold court—before the party line is reestablished by the Trump liege men of primetime (Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity). And then there is Judge Andrew Napolitano, the Libertarian Party voter and legal commentator, who seems to be disappearing from Fox News altogether as he’s grown more and more critical of the Trump administration and its treatment of the Mueller report. Fox News hasn’t dispatched with Napolitano altogether, of course

Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton believes President Trump's administration is a gateway to fascism. "The idea that it can't happen here is just old-fashioned, my friends,” the former secretary of state warned this weekend during an address at Wellesley College. Her remarks came with a specific reference to former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright's new book, Fascism: A Warning. How seriously should we take any “warning” written by a former secretary of state who mocked 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney when he cautioned about the growing Russian threat? I am going to say not much.

Well, now it looks like we have a gay flag controversy, something Democrats are sure to make a 2020 campaign issue and the press reporting the whole thing is being done to be mean.According to the Washington Examiner: The State Department has rejected at least four requests from different U.S. embassies to fly LGBTQ pride flags during the month of June. U.S. embassies in Israel, Germany, Brazil, and Latvia have each made requests to fly rainbow flags on the embassy’s flag pole, and the Trump administration has rejected each request, according to NBC News. Pride flags are still allowed to be displayed elsewhere in each facility.

In its new crusade for veganism, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has rushed to the defense of oysters and other bivalves, insisting they should be respected and never eaten. “Oysters are never vegan,” PETA announced in a short video presentation on Twitter Saturday. “Bivalves are animals that deserve our consideration and should never be eaten or used in any other way.” In its attempt to tug at the heartstrings of possible sympathizers, PETA underscored the cruelty with which oysters are treated just to feed undeserving human beings. “Their shells are torn open and their bodies are cut up,” the video proclaimed.
