My oldest daughter lives in Los Angeles, a short walk from MacArthur Park. She’s not political. Not that politics is bad, but the practicalities of surviving in a tough city requires her to be no-nonsense about what’s important to her success. I’m convinced she knows nothing about Beto, Bernie, Biden, Booker or Buttigieg. But living at ground zero of one of the most sanctimonious of sanctuary cities, she knows more about the perils of illegal immigration than all of them combined. Politics was dumped at her doorstep and, like many, she’s cracking under the weight.

When you allow unlimited numbers of illegal alien Central Americans and Mexicans to swarm into Los Angeles you are turning the place into another Central America and Mexico. The article says that the California leftist and liberal Democrat politicians are pleased as punch to allow that to continue happening, to spite President Trump. But Trump does not live there and those politicians are just hurting the lawful citizens of Los Angeles who pay the taxes to keep the place running.
The real reason the Democrats are allowing that to happen is that the more illegal aliens who are counted in the census expands the population of the area and helps to reapportion more congressional seats into the low income areas there, that the Democrats can easily win with a lot less votes then in districts populated by US citizens, as most illegal aliens are not legally qualified to vote, thus making the actual district constituency that actually votes much smaller.
In the long run the Democrats intend to morph the entire mostly all poor, uneducated, and socialist minded illegal alien population that may well exceed 20 million people, Into new foreign born Democrat socialist voters by way of their so-called “comprehensive immigration reform” amnesty, and their “pathway to citizenship” voter registration program that is designed to grant them US voting rights.

Very powerful. This visual needs to be front and foremost before every voter. PDT, WTP, and the grace of God, are all that stands between our Constitutional Republic and its complete fundamental transformation.

I was at the grocery store yesterday and two white guys were erecting a huge new banner announcing a "Fantastic Cinco De Mayo Sale". I stood there watching for a second and finally said, "Oh, That a Mexican holiday isn´t it?"
One guy, the store employee said, "Well, Sir. it is really a Hispanic Holiday."
I asked, "What does it celebrate? What does it mean?"
He replied, "Well, it is the Fifth of May celebration>"
"And it mean something happened on the fifth of May? Like our Fourth of July?"
He said, "Yes, it is exactly that. it is their day of indepependance."
"Of what? Being Americans or being independant of being Hispanics?"
I played it up. The guy was getting frustrated.
"No, of Mexico´s independence day."
"So why are we celebrating it. They should celebrate it in Mexico. It is a Mexican holiday afterall, right?"
"NO! It´s a Hispanic holiday!"
I Turned around to leave and said, "Aw...you don´t know what the hell you are talking about. Damned kids!"
See, being an old man has it´s priveleges. I was laughing all the way to my car. PC crap!
LA is now nothing but a huge Mexican city on the Pacific coast. A city of illegals - a city with no nation at all behind it. What a damn shame that they are infecting the rest of our nation with that 3rd world crap.

“A short walk from MacArthur Park”? That is where the illegals go to buy fake credentials and the druggies go to make their buys. What on earth is she doing in that very tough part of L.A.?

Mexican Independence Day is in mid-September. May 5 is what most of us considered to be a festive party day. And we were not Mexican, Hispanic… none of that.

Anyone still living in Ca cannot be very smart. It´s a place just waiting for a big blow up along with dangerous earth shaking potential.

The only way to win is to run for office.
I will say it again: One by one every city in this country will become a ghetto and look like a third world H-llhole. Just like the one they left.

Too many people are still purposely ignoring the invasion. I´m guessing they will only wake up when some type of calamity directly impacts them - like a foreign disease outbreak or being robbed, raped, or murdered.

Soon enough the actual Americans are going to say "Enough" and demand that this ends, well in a sane world.
I am no longer certain that we live in a sane world.

It´s a powder keg all over the USA. Taxpayers are sick and tired of paying for these leeches not to mention politicians holding them above the law when US citizens would be charged to the hilt for the same crimes. New York State is a perfect example.

Mooching off the fat of the land. Bringing disease, lowering wages, Free Chip and Medical insurance, subsidized housing, DACA, destroying K-10 public schools, and full scholarships at the University of California Los Angeles. Starting point should be litigating Anchor Babies Right to to Citizenship.
Trump is the only politician that has ever done anything about this tragedy. He started on June 16 2015 when he descended in the escalator behind Melania in the white frilly dress. Isis moment is seared into my memory. He has my reelection vote assured since he withdrew US from the Paris Climate Agreement. MAGA2020.

If those people she saw selling off of blanket shops were Mexican, it is likely they are doing what they do at home. I recall being in Mexico City on their Independence Day and seeing many sidewalk blanket vendors right in the middle of the capital. MacArthur Park and environs is very Mexican so it is no surprise that their customs might prevail there. (Alexander’s daughter is black.) They may have been doing this for years. We don’t want it here, but there is apparently no law that can be cited in order to clear them out.

Re #6, interesting comment about those of us you don’t know. I was born and raised in California and have lived there most of my life. Our traditionally Republican state was invaded first by the Dust Bowl people, doing pretty much what the illegals are doing: looking for work or welfare. They brought the Democrat Party. Then came the union workers in WWII.
If you check out the most troublesome of our Dem politicians, you will find that they were born and usually raised elsewhere.
It’s really not that bad here, many of us are pretty smart, and we are staying. We wish others would stay where they are...

Cinco de Mayo commemorates a Mexican victory over the French. It wasn´t "independence" from anything, but President Benito Juarez had been temporarily driven from power by French forces. General Zaragoza (Texas born)led the defense in Puebla. The battle lasted less than 24 hours, with the Mexican Army victorious. Later, the Mexicans executed Maximilian whom the French had intended to rule. But, it took American help to drive the French out of Mexico in 1867.
