This week before the Senate Appropriations Committee Attorney General William Barr gave testimony that is guaranteed to induce panic throughout the D.C. swamp. Regarding spying on Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, he testified as follows: ATTORNEY GENERAL BARR: As I said in my confirmation hearing, I am going to be reviewing both the genesis and the conduct of intelligence activities directed at the Trump campaign during 2016. And a lot of this has already been investigated, and a substantial portion of it has been investigated and is being investigated by the office of the Inspector General,

FTA: ´Attorney General Barr’s testimony portends a long overdue cleansing of the government temple the likes of which has never before happened in this country. This will be history in the making.´ One can only hope that will be the case. From what I´ve seen, the AG is going to ´look at´ how all this transpired and see where it leads. I didn´t see anything like a ´cleansing´ in the works from what Barr said.
If there is one thing we here have learned these past 3 years: never underestimate the chacanery of the deep state. Emails will disappear just like at IRS. Officials will plead the fifth, just like at FBI. And democrats will stonewall and smear at any opportunity with their lying media cohorts.
We can only hope and pray payback will be in full and on time. I, however, have my doubts.

FTA: ´After suffering through Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ comatose stewardship of the Justice Department, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s underhanded machinations, and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s protracted rear guard action to protect the anti-Trump deep state conspirators, the day of reckoning is at hand.´ I´ve tired of being optimistic. This sounds like "next year in Jerusalem, or Chiang Ki Chek taking the mainland, or next year the Cubs will win the World Series. So far it´s all bread and circuses. Wish I believed better. Arrests, indictments, convictions, prison terms? As if. Eeyore.

What adds to the reckoning is Barr’s innocuous appearance. He’s no smarmy-faced, glib-talking goon like Eric Holder. And, unlike Sessions who now seems to have played the deep state like a matador without a sword, Barr told us exactly who and what he’s going to have investigated.
Spying on a Presidential candidate is one thing. Working on the job to carry out a coup d’etat of a sitting President is another. Comey, Brennan and Clapper are in more trouble than a tiny bit.

I think the only reason this cabal did what they did was because they were absolutely certain Shrill would win and would be able to cover up their nefarious deeds just like they covered up Fast & Furious, the IRS scandal, and Benghazi. The only question left now is who will assume the role of John Dean?

Yes. We have several chroniclers.
Chief is "America´a undocumented host", Mark Steyn.
Next is Kurt Schlichter.
Then there is Howie Carr.
Let the fun begin.

Call me pessimistic but I doubt if there ever is a day of reckoning for any of these criminals. The wagons have been circled and the file shredders have been going full bore now for two years - it’s a cold trail. Hope I’m wrong but consequences in DC only apply to republicans.

#7 A defeated stance has been what they depend on, and it causes those in power to relax because nothing is expected of them. I want them to know we demand law and order and justice!
That is precisely what all these immigrants are rushing our border to get. They live in chaos, corruption, violence against a government out of control. If we don´t demand better from our government, we will live in the same mess.

Once again I have to say I´ll believe it when I see it. Although, I am a bit more optimistic this time with Barr.
I certainly hope he looks into the organized crime organization known as The Clinton Foundation. It is ripe for RICO. I still think the Beast and her cohorts should all be outfitted with orange jump suits.

Barr has thrown down the gauntlet and we can tell it´s the correct one because of the immediate howls from the dems. It´s pretty funny because dems were all in love with "investigations" when Trump was the target. Now that Mueller´s pistols are empty, it´s time for the other side to pull out their Heavy Machine Guns. There are SO many available targets and unlike Trump, many have so obviously colored outside the lines.
The proof of reckoning will be in the tasting of the final products. Hopefully, since there should be actual evidence of real malfeasance instead of chasing illusionary Russian collusion, the investigation should proceed with alacrity.
It is hoped that the investigators fully understand the seriousness of the stakes for this nation.

My cynicism moves me to believe that the American people will not be satisfied with whatever measure of justice that is served. I just can’t see it with the bunch of wimpy and anti-Trumpers that inhabit Washington. I hope and pray that I am wrong and there will be a reckoning for the seditionists who believed they could do this and get away with it and more than likely be rewarded for it.
My biggest concern is the length the dems will go to obstruct and deflect from the truth being exposed. They will do anything to protect BHO and HRC. I fear what they will do to take the heat off. They are capable of anything if they would commit sedition. God help us.
We are at a pivotal moment in our history. Will justice prevail and the Deep State finally be held accountable for its betrayal of the Republic? God only knows.

Kim Strassel has an outstanding piece on this situation in the WSJ today. She chronicles why the intelligence people are panicked over Barr´s effort. No one expected to have to answer for it, since Hillary was a sure thing for the White House.
We can no longer post a "work around" for WSJ pieces here on Lucianne.com, but if someone wants to read her article and doesn´t get the Journal, email me and I´ll do a .pdf for you.

All talk about the top echelon of the FBI is fine. But one issue that is at the core of the Deep State must be addressed. Otherwise it is going to be merely white wash. Mark Levin touched upon this. There were several hundred thousand emails from rank and file agents in the materials examined and released by the Inspector General. Levin had a team thoroughly go through them and found that there was NOT ONE email supportive of Trump as opposed to a reasonably expected number supporting Hillary. Whatever caused this fear is our real enemy that must be exposed and dealt with.

In my 71 yrs on earth I cannot count how many "days of reckoning" have been at hand. I love this Country. I love the citizens of this Country. I abhor our Government and the men and women that have abused it over the years. There is no day of reckoning. There will never be a day of reckoning. Those in power will never give it up, never. When they die, another power monger takes his/her place. Stop hoping for a day of reckoning and start living without the need for Government in your life. God, family and friends is all you need. Stop relying on Government to take care of your wants and needs and expectations. The Government will fail you every time.

This is as far as the deep state will allow their criminal acts to go; articles about "Day of Reckoning" with absolutely NO reckoning. There will be no prison sentences for any of the criminals and the lives of innocent people destroyed will stay destroyed. No matter what you think of Barr, EVERY person who works for him IS the deep state and they will prevent any sort of actual reckoning. McConnell, Gowdy and Graham will help the Marxists make sure as well. While on camera, they´ll do their sound and fury schtick which signifies nothing. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, ballcap and DVD since 1995. Rinse, repeat.
Deep state and media letting air out of "day of reckoning" sails in 3,2,1...

There are some guilty people who are throwaways in this "matter" and will receive whatever punishment is due, Comey, McCabe, Brennan, Lynch, Strzok, Page, Nellie Ohr, etc. They are no longer useful to the Deep State and will not be missed. With the big fish like Obama and Clinton, I have my doubts although there are solid connections to their participation. They have millions in cash on hand to buy their way out of this. I see Obama hiding out on some South Pacific islands at the estate of one of his billionaire friends and I see Hillary faking a serious illness.

There will be a reckoning for a level designated cannon fodder but the true revolutionaries will skate. We may all sort of know that Obama and Hillary were guilty as sin for attempting to overthrow the country with the direct support and participation of foreign enemies but there will always be a layer of cover for them.
And they aren´t at the top of this either. The real "tippy top" to bowwor from one of our esteemed exalted leaders, is the global communist cabal of which know Soros is a part but not the only part.

Day of reckoning, bombshell, damning evidence I´ve heard it all so give us a break.
Some sorry traitorous souls will face a bit of wrath but will they be mistreated like Flynn and others who supported Donald Trump I think not.
The only reckoning will be when they die and are gone for good. The only thing good that will come out of this is Hillary won´t show her face and Obama will run into the tall weeds because they both know all roads in the investigation lead to them.
All involved will feel some bit of misery but will get off with the thought that they almost got away with it.
Until ropes and firing squads are used these seditious traitors have no fear.

Judging from the frenzied reaction from the democrats, and just yesterday Comey, the left is very afraid of something. They´re breaking out every trick in the leftist handbook to divert attention from what´s about to drop.

I REALLY hope that this is how it goes. There are so many fundamentally corrupt people in leadership of FBI, DoJ, CIA and Dept of State who criminally abused our intelligence systems to smear Trump and his people. At least a dozen, probably two dozen, deserve serious prison time.
But also a couple of dozen more underlings deserve to be fired, publicly shamed and their pensions eliminated.
We hear so often about how the "rank and file" FBI are all wonderful people, and I do believe that the overwhelming majority ARE. I have a good friend who has worked for the FBI for over 30 yeas.
But I don´t think that Comey, McCabe, Brennan and Clapper did all this on their own. They had a lot of underlings who had to know that spying on a presidential candidate was wrong, and did it anyway, and reported it to no one. Why was the IG not apprised of this in 2016?
THAT also deserves some (albeit lesser) punishment, not sweeping under the rug. "I was just following orders" - does NOT work.

There is a lot of rotten fruit that should be easy to prosecute:
DOJ and FBI
The FISA warrants required the FBI to swear that the information provided to the court was verified and that was impossible.
The special prosecutor was created to investigate the Trump campaign when they knew that the justification was the lies.
Hillary
Comey listed the facts that showed Hillary was guilty of mishandling classified information, but said she wouldn’t be prosecuted because she had no criminal intent. However, the law specifically states that criminal intent isn’t required. Hillary should be prosecuted for this crime.
Hillary did favors for people who donated millions to her foundation. As this foundation was controlled by Hillary it was effectively a slush fund for her. Hillary should be charged with bribery/corruption.

My hope rests in the fact that God is in control in the affairs of men, that the fervent prayer of the righteous avails much, and that God´s providence helps those who stand and work for good.
My optimism rests in my belief in the dedication of AG Barr, and others who are fighting this good fight, to preserve the rule of law on which the preservation of our Constitutional Republic depends.
Pray without ceasing, and support every effort for good. KAG depends on it.

My pipe dream has been that the DOJ (Sessions, Horowitz) was quietly gathering evidence while the Mueller show kept everyone´s attention on the impending doom faced by Donald Trump. Given the left´s skill at making witnesses and evidence disappear this would be a brilliant strategy. If Horowitz was gathering the evidence (under oath perhaps?) and passing the intelligence to Huber could Barr have all the necessary evidence already and has grabbed the Obama White House Counsel to flip first?

A series of medium-large, domestic ´Terrorist Incidents´
which could be blamed on imaginary "White Supremacists" might be needed to turn the page on this embarrassing faux pas. The game board will hit the carpet one way or another. Trump´s team must be charged with new and improved charges and they must be BIG and VIOLENT and dramatic. Creating ´evidence´ is a big part of the black arts so favored by the Left.

What I want is a legal reenactment of that scene from Tombstone.
When Kurt Russel´s Wyatt Earp shotguns one of the Cowboys at the train station who was gonna shoot Wyatt´s brother. He points the shotgun at another Cowboy & tells him to go tell the others he´s coming for them & Hell is coming with him.
Barr needs to mount up with his posse as well & deliver Hell to dem all.
