Here’s Why I Didn’t Fall For The Russia-Trump Conspiracy

Original Article

An outlandish theory that Donald Trump was a traitor who had conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 election gripped much of the nation’s media for more than two years. Countless “bombshells” in support of this theory were published and broadcast. Media outlets won numerous awards for publishing leaks they received from partisan government officials and other operatives. When Special Counsel Robert Mueller announced in late March that his sprawling Russia probe had ended with not a single indictment related to criminal collusion, it was a devastating blow to the media’s already damaged credibility

The other reason is that there was never a shred of evidence of "collusion" (which would not have been a crime even if had occurred).

Trump´s problem with the DC-class, is he truly, and actually, wants to fix things.

They don´t. They like to appoint a "blue ribbon" committee to discuss the issue, but those are regularly ignored, but their friends get a nice six-figure salary to be on the committee.

And, the threat of someone coming along and getting things done, in a short time, makes them scared, as people will question why weren´t you able to do anything in the last 20+ years?

Sort of like the new guy who comes into the office group, or assembly line, who is doing more than the others, making the group look bad.

I haven’t seen any of Hemingway’s usual columns in recent weeks (months?). Now she comes out with her personal history re Donald J. Trump…

It’s clear she spent too much time around the roundtable types like Hayes and Stoddard and the creepy Charles ? and even Bret Baier.

She still sounds a bit on the fence though leaning ever so carefully Trumpward.

The only people that have ever colluded with the Russians have been the Democrats, including providing them with our nuclear secrets. There was never anything the Russians could have done for Trump. Trump won the election by very hard work, and was the only Republican that would have, and did, work hard enough to win. The rest of the Republicans are passive, like Romney, except for the back stabbing, which he is good at, that because down deep, Romney is a coward.

The reason the media/government elitists don´t like Trump is because he is not part of their group and they cannot control him like they have previous party hack Presidents like Clinton, Bush, Obama, et. al. The elitists believe only they have the knowledge and sophistication to run the country, and elected officials should look to them to be told as to how to do it.

That just aint gonna happen with Trump, and they are stymied and trying their best to get rid of him. I believe this whole Russian collusion was an attempt to get Trump to resign, just like thy forced Nixon to resign. The only problem, Trump is too hard headed to do that!

We´ve heard it so often that we think it ought to make sense . . . only it never did!!! It´s the stupidest witch hunt in the entire world!

Re: #4 - I agree that the author is still on the fence regarding President Trump. Her only admitted agreement with the president or his policies is strictly related to his "non-interventionist foreign policy." She emphasizes this and also alludes to her dislike of the "interventionist" foreign policy of the other side (Hillary). I believe she´s trying to distance herself from admitting that she also likes at least some of the president´s domestic policies on things like immigration and taxes because she´s trying to not completely alienate herself with progressives and is hoping to preserve some degree of mainstream media viability.

All that was needed to smell collusion with Russia as a hoax was putting together Trump’s call for a border wall (very pro-American) and identifying America’s greatest enemy as the swamp.
Americans in flyover country already knew Trump was pointing out the truth and believed he would do something about both. They also knew democrats have become propagandist liars and anti-Constitution. That’s why we elected Trump and gave him both houses of congress. Mollie Hemingway didn’t see any of that because she’s up to her armpits in the swamp.

Admitting that she made some mistakes and was back and forth on the issue makes Hemingway an honest reporter. My opinion was that the Russians preferred Hillary because she had participated in dirty deals with them in the past and would be an accomplice in our conversion to communism, just like Smidgen was.

I usually like Mollie but she pulls her shoulder out and will probably need rotator-cuff surgery from patting herself on the back! And claiming props for finally figuring out the obvious.

Sorry, but this long article sounds like someone explaining to her friends in the swamp why she had to go off the reservation for a bit and shoot a few arrows at them. Now that it´s all over, she wants to come back into the fold.

Awhile back I had a conversation with a sometimes "friend" who´s a big Dem and a bright guy (usually) and I asked why he was buying into all this junk about Trump & "the Russians". He said he knew it was crap but it "couldn´t happen to a nicer guy" and Trump needed to "be stopped" --- no matter what & in any way --- before he ruined the country! When I pointed out that is constant buzz was really hurting the country and the economy more than Trump, he dismissed it as proper punishment for the Right for making "false" claims against Obama for being a Muslim, born in Kenya, married to a man, etc!

Because the Right tried to always undermine Obama, it was now okay to do anything, ANYTHING to undermine Trump. Basically it was ALL about paybacks.

The problem has been that the bureaucratic and political elitists have looked down their noses at us great unwashed deplorables. Trump was an outsider to whom the elitists immediately took offense. They conspired to prevent his nomination and election, because he was not one of their own.

When he was elected the bureaucratic and political elitists pulled out all the stops to overthrow him. There was nothing too immoral, illegal, or slanderous that they were not willing to do.

Compared to what Hillary got away with, it was obvious that the elitists were trying to overthrow Trump.

Through all of this, most of the MSM have been the "useful idiots" selling these lies.

Here we are in the midst of a once-in-a-half-century pandemic, with the economy flattened, millions of people unemployed, and unrest on the streets of our cities. And President-elect Joe Biden says that one of his highest priorities as president will be to reenter the Paris climate accord. President Trump kept his "put America first" promise and pulled the United States out of this Obama-era treaty. Biden wants us back in. Why? Paris is an unmitigated failure. You don't have to take my word for it. National Geographic, a supporter of climate change action, recently ran the numbers and admitted in its recent headline: "Most countries aren't hitting 2030 climate goals."

Teachers unions have been instrumental in keeping American schools online during the pandemic. But some have escalated their positions on reopening to include an array of social justice demands. A set of demands from teachers unions in July, which addressed how to safely reopen schools amid a pandemic, was criticized by The Wall Street Journal editorial board as “political extortion.” The board argued that unions were taking advantage of a health crisis to advance their own ideological agendas and to eliminate competition from charter schools.

President Trump granted a pardon to Michael Flynn, his former national-security adviser, today. Flynn had pled guilty to lying to FBI agents about conversations, during the 2016 transition, with the Russian ambassador about sanctions. Flynn’s pardon should bring to an end one gross violation of the Constitution’s separation of powers, even as it gives rise to groundless accusations of another. Although Flynn had pled guilty, the circumstances of the case had raised serious concerns about whether the government had proceeded properly. The FBI, for example, questioned Flynn even though it did not appear he had violated any law. In May, Attorney General William Barr ordered the case dropped.
