A single tweet from Mr Musk was enough to catapult the industrial-scale gang-rape of English girls into greater public prominence than it had ever received - which is pretty amazing considering that it is "the worst scandal in British history"(SNIP)By contrast, comparative fertility rates is a more subtle and elusive concept for the average citizen, so Elon's dissemination of an ancient Mark Steyn clip will not have the same impact. Nevertheless, way back when, my point was correct, and so is Mr Musk's amplification of it a generation on.

Comments:

Mark Steyn's slogan is "Demographics is Destiny." In this article he discusses the paltry birthrate in all Western countries as opposed to the robust birth rate of Muslims. A tipping point is on the horizon for several European countries and is on track to impose Islamification in our own country. He notes that the political right is focused on socialism without noticing that the up and coming socialists from the mayor of New York City and a prospective senator from Michigan are Muslims. Many other socialist candidates, while not Muslim, are second or third generation children of immigrants. The socialism of Western Europe was home grown while ours is the result of unending immigration and the refusal to recognize the dire threat of Islam.

Happy Bastille Day to our many French readers.(Snip)In the two centuries between the assassination of Prime Minister Spencer Perceval and the killing of Labour MP Jo Cox, six members of the House of Commons were murdered, all by Irish republicans. Since then, what Churchill called "the dreary steeples of Fermanagh and Tyrone" have muted their quarrels somewhat, and yet political violence in a once peaceable kingdom has become more general, to the cheers of the crowd.

The USA's World Cup dream came to an end in Seattle as Belgium cruised into the last eight with a 4-1 victory; Charles De Ketelaere scored twice in the first half, while Hans Vanaken and Romelu Lukaku added further goals after the break to book a quarter-final meeting with Spain. The PR circus surrounding FIFA's decision to rescind Folarin Balogun's red card and Donald Trump's involvement in the supposedly independent process had dominated the headlines ahead of the last-16 clash in Seattle. However, it appeared only to galvanise Belgium as they thrashed USA 4-1 to book a quarter-final with Spain.

As readers may recall, in recent years, after announcing a rare bit of activity from yours truly, I have generally observed that I am engaging in such against the advice of my doctors. So it was that I spent over a month in Ukraine, venturing hither and yon and trying to stay one step ahead of the bombs and drones. I was thinking, since that went so well, I'd rest up for a few weeks and maybe head to the Persian Gulf. Alas, that will not now be happening.

The other day President Trump Truthed out former Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen's demand for the failed "decapitation strategy" to be extended to Iran's negotiating team:(Snip)Even though it's a strategic flop for the Yanks and Israelis, the "decapitation strategy" is sufficiently irksome to Tehran that, in the event President Trump is minded to do as his Truth Social hints and resume it, the mullahs would this time reciprocate with a little decapitation of their own.

~As you know, in deference to the divergence of opinion among readers, we are now starting each column by linking to an alternative position to my own - that's to say, a pro-war analysis. (Snip) Meanwhile, back in what passes for the real world, the war aims continue to shrivel. (Snip) So a month ago Iran controlled four per cent of global oil. Now they control twenty per cent - and their parliament's plan is for the "Tehran toll-booth" to become a permanent fixture. Which would mean they control more of the world's oil than America.

~As Month Two begins, the war continues to widen: Many dissatisfied Steyn Club members have accused me of fighting the last war. (Snip}Yesterday, for example, another dozen US servicemen were wounded and multiple refuelling aircraft were crippled at the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. America's military bases in the Gulf are some of the most expensive on the planet, and yet, as with the killing fields of eastern Ukraine, they're highly vulnerable to drones that cost a few thousand bucks. Time to dust off the "Mission Accomplished" banner? ~A Thought for the Day from David Blair in our comments section: It's time to move past your reticence to have initiated the war and get behind Trump. Your fear that it might end badly is noted. "Get behind Trump"? That might be better directed at Vance, Gabbard, Kennedy and other cabinet members whose discomfort with the strange turn of events is palpable either through their sudden absence from public life or when they're testifying to Congress and trying to walk the fine line between not getting fired now and not getting impeached by the incoming Democrat majority in January.

~This news is too sad. From Old Dominion University in Virginia: The victim of the terrorist attack at Old Dominion has been identified as Lt. Col. Brandon Shah-- who was a Professor of Military Science and the leader of the university's ROTC program. So Colonel Shah survived the century's worthless unwon wars including "America's longest war" - Operation Enduring Freedom (how'd that endure, by the way?) - only to come home and die at the hands of one of his "fellow Americans" screaming - go on, take a wild guess; yeah, bingo! - "Allahu Akbar!"

The Trump administration’s messaging on America’s military involvement in Iran has been, to put it lightly, a mess. And it’s clear after listening to his remarks about the conflict that Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is not helping the situation. Since the U.S.-Israeli-led operation against Tehran began, Graham has rushed to every microphone and television camera available to express his unbridled enthusiasm about the campaign. When he isn’t bragging about how much money the U.S. is going to make as a result of the conflict, he’s calling for more American intervention in countries like Cuba and Lebanon.

President Donald Trump in a Saturday evening social media post claimed that Mideast allies have reached the parameters of a deal to end the Iran war and said that he would hold off on ordering new strikes in the five-month old conflict for now. Trump added that the emerging deal “would include the Immediate, Complete, and Total OPENING OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT, and an end to Iran’s nuclear threat.” “Based on this request, I have agreed, for the future benefit of the WORLD and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran, to cancel the attack, subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL,” Trump said.

The 25th anniversary of 9/11 is just over a month away, and the families of those murdered in the World Trade Center are making plans for a dignified remembrance of their loved ones on this painful and solemn occasion. There's just one problem: New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani insists on being there despite the growing chorus from the families telling him to stay far away. They'd rather not have a practicing Muslim and avowed socialist mar the day that belongs to them and their memories – feelings that are completely understandable. Here's what I wrote about this a few days back in a VIP article:

At the end of May, the New York State Assembly introduced Assembly Bill A11509. The proposal would permanently prohibit anyone born after December 31, 2007, from purchasing tobacco or nicotine products for the rest of their lives. In practice, the State is claiming permanent ownership over the autonomy of part of its population. It is deciding today that these individuals will never be considered capable of making their own choices. The distinction it creates is not based on any assessment of individual responsibility or capacity. It rests solely on an arbitrary date of birth.

Gov. Abigail Spanberger, D-Va., announced that she has restored voting rights to 66,085 Virginians who had prior felony convictions. Virginia’s constitution doesn't allow convicted felons to vote after serving their sentences unless a governor restores their voting rights. “I’m proud that — after contending with my predecessor’s efforts to deny Virginians their fundamental rights — we have restored the rights of more than 66,000 Virginians who have served their time,” Spanberger said in a statement. “These Virginians deserve the right to use their vote, make their voices heard, and be recognized as contributing citizens to our Commonwealth and country.”

The rise of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and other radicals has thrown the Democrat Party into turmoil. We've seen the DSA admitting quite openly how they want to upend critical principles that uphold our system of government. Yet, we hear many Democrats, in response, say that the party is a "big tent." Translation? We'll let anyone in if we think it helps our power. But one who is standing up against it is the frequently ranting Democrat operative, James Carville. But in this case, all of his ranting is well deserved. He knows his party is committing political suicide, and he just put them on notice about it.
