California Gov. Gavin Newsom allowed a select group of journalists to view his tax returns from 2021 through 2024 at his office on Thursday afternoon, and what's been reported about their contents so far isn't good for the 2028 presidential hopeful. According to reports from multiple outlets invited to view the returns, the Newsoms' income hasn't increased since the last time his returns were released, but Jennifer Siebel Newsom's for-profit company, Girls Club Entertainment, lost money all four years and didn't pay her a salary in 2023 or 2024.

A suspended state representative in Georgia has pleaded guilty in federal court to unemployment fraud dealings made during the COVID-19 pandemic era.
Sharon Henderson, the third official in a string of Georgia Democrats to plead guilty, admitted to fraudulent unemployment dealings resulting from the 2020 pandemic, collecting a total of $17,811.
“While running for and holding political office, Representative Henderson was fleecing taxpayers, lying to steal money from federal programs intended to help people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic,” U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg said in a press release.
“Her prosecution and conviction demonstrate that elected officials who enrich themselves through fraud will be held accountable for violating the public’s trust.”

Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson isn’t exactly known for her neutrality — quite the opposite, actually.
She’s infamous for using emotional arguments in her decisions and for her long-winded, loaded questions. As our Sister Toldjah reported in 2025, she often gets under the skin of even the other justices. “We will not dwell on Justice Jackson’s argument, which is at odds with more than two centuries worth of precedent, not to mention the Constitution itself,” Barrett wrote about Jackson’s musings regarding a birthright citizen case.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) pushed back Thursday on claims made by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) following the latest pounding by U.S. air power against Iranian targets on Wednesday.
CENTCOM used social media to respond to the latest three unsupportable claims by the IRGC.
“FIRST CLAIM: The IRGC (again) claims free and open routes through the Strait of Hormuz are dangerous for commercial vessels.

Advocates for voter ID in California have sued the state over altered ballot language for the November initiative.
The ballot initiative Proposition 39, which would amend the state constitution to require that voters provide government-issued identification to vote, originally included the description, “Establishes additional voter identification and citizenship verification requirements.”
However, last week, California Attorney General Rob Bonta, a Democrat, changed the language to say: “Prohibits citizens from voting unless they present government-issued identification.”
Plaintiffs supporting the passage of Proposition 39 say it would not “prohibit” any votes. Under federal law—the Help America Vote Act—voters can cast provisional ballots if there is a question about their eligibility.

Both Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Bernie Moreno (R-OH) dismantled Anthony Fauci’s refusal to answer questions, pointing out that he has no leg to stand on during a contentious hearing that continually had Fauci invoking the Fifth Amendment to avoid responsibility for his role in the pandemic and the many lies he told the American people throughout the years. Fauci informed lawmakers in his opening statement before the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs that he would not be answering any questions, invoking his Fifth Amendment rights. Hawley, however, explained that his use of the Fifth Amendment is bunk.

After reading a statement alleging that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who was chairing the hearing, had an "obvious obsession with calling for my prosecution," Fauci clammed up. Undaunted, Paul proceeded to question him anyway.
We may have been denied the satisfaction of hearing Fauci having to answer for his tyrannical reign as the COVID king – where was the "No Kings" crowd back then? – but we were treated to the delightful sight of his obnoxious attorney, David Schertler, being hauled out of the room by security after ignoring Sen. Paul's warning to keep his mouth shut.

Jordan’s air defenses intercepted five missiles launched from Iran early Wednesday, the country’s military said, hours after the U.S. military said it had knocked down an Iranian missile barrage launched against American forces in the Middle East, shattering a brief pause in fighting.
The Jordanian military said the missiles had been “intercepted and destroyed.” Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency carried a statement from the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard saying the Guard’s Aerospace Force fired ballistic missiles at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base and the headquarters of the U.S. military’s Central Command in Jordan.
The renewed hostilities sent oil prices spiking. Brent crude, the international standard, jumped 3.1% to $84.58 a barrel.

Not surprisingly, Israelis and Americans are facing crucial Fall elections. In the United States citizens will vote for Congress and the Senate. Conservatives fear that the Democrats may take both houses. If they do, then they will try to impeach President Trump and they will do everything possible to weaken the alliance with that other Biblically inspired exceptional democracy, Israel.
In Israel, citizens will vote for those parties and leaders that they hope will successfully lead Israel during a time of geo-strategic turbulence. As Donald Trump has just under two years before his time as President expires, one must look to Israel and ask—
