Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, will offer students the opportunity to study the “white gaze” next spring in order to undermine “white supremacy and racial capitalism.” (snip)
Nadja Eisenberg-Guyot, an assistant professor of anthropology, is teaching “Unsettling the White Gaze.”
Eisenberg-Guyot’s profile describes the scholar as a “white, disabled, trans anthropologist whose work focuses on how criminalized people who use drugs envision and experiment with abolitionist horizons of transformation, healing, self-determination, and solidarity beyond incarceration and forced-cure.”

Hello and welcome to Sunday, July 19, 2026. Among other things, today is Ice Cream Day, Daiquiri Day, Raspberry Cake Day, New Friends Day, Stick Out Your Tongue Day, Sundae Sunday, Football Day, Flight Attendant Safety Professionals' Day, International Retainer Day, Lake Superior Day, and Flitch Day. I don't know what to make of that. Anything that floats in your root beer, I suppose.So let's look at what's actually going on between Trump and Rubio. A few things stand out:
Rubio's portfolio keeps growing. As secretary of State, he's literally everywhere on foreign policy, and Trump keeps handing him the delicate diplomatic assignments nobody else gets.

Well, right on cue, there’s a disturbing new trend exploding online, and once again, innocent people are being turned into props for someone else’s internet stardom and clicks.In this clip, you’ll see a black teen on a bicycle charging directly at innocent pedestrians while popping wheelies. He came straight at the person, and at the very last second, he swerved away. The goal for this kid is to scare the living daylights out of unsuspecting people in order to get a dramatic reaction on camera.

On Sunday, a new report came out that, among Saturday night's targets in Iran hit by American attacks, there was a strike against a nuclear facility under construction, that being what is called the Darkhovin facility. The Iranian government is said to be "furious." Good. This is a military target, no matter what Iran has to say about it. This is precisely the kind of target American forces should be razing to the ground. Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, in its outrage, is again dissembling; nothing this regime does is peaceful or has an entirely peaceful purpose. If this facility had been allowed to move to completion,

A man whom authorities describe as an anti-government extremist set fire Monday morning to the front of New York’s 26 Federal Plaza, which houses several federal agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the FBI.
The suspect, 43-year-old Army veteran Andrew Arrabaca, poured gasoline on the stairs leading to the building’s employee entrance before setting fire to it.//snip//In his post-arrest interview, Arrabaca admitted to targeting the building and said he was willing to hurt — even kill — federal employees and citizens who were by the building at the time of his attack.

There is absolutely nothing democratic within the political schemes of the communists, leftists and Nazis’. Just as Ukraine is led by an unelected authoritarian under the guise of the ‘new democratic norms’; just as Kamala Harris was installed as a presidential nominee under those same anti-democracy norms; so too is U.K Prime Minister Andy Burnham now installed without any election by the British citizensThe unelected monarch, King Charles, appoints the unelected Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, and the first pledge of the unelected leader is a promise to make life better for the people who are denied a voice in his agenda.

A California city chief allegedly locked herself inside the wheelhouse of a “random” 75-foot yacht and repeatedly sounded its horn before two bottles of booze were found empty in a bizarre early-morning episode ending with her arrest. Elaine Forbes, 53, who started as Sausalito’s city manager just three weeks ago, was allegedly discovered aboard the Lisa Marie early Saturday after Captain Bill Aubrey heard its horn blaring shortly after 5:30 a.m., The San Francisco Standard reported. Forbes’ family has since said she has been experiencing a “mental health crisis” and urged the public not to “rush to judgment” as more details emerge about the stunning incident.

The U.S. and Iran are back to bombing every day in a bid to control the Strait of Hormuz. And neither is backing down, showing the limitations of President Donald Trump’s reliance on escalating airstrikes to bend Tehran to his will.
While the Trump administration says it is open to diplomacy, Iran so far has refused to loosen its grip over the crucial oil shipping corridor in the Persian Gulf. It is raising questions about the strategy for the next phase of the conflict as intensifying attacks have collapsed an interim ceasefire deal, left additional American troops dead and sent U.S. gasoline prices back up —

For more than a decade, the state of Alaska has been trying to permanently forfeit Ken Jouppi’s $95,000 airplane after he transported a passenger carrying a six-pack of beer. Today, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to decide whether it can. For decades, Ken flew his Cessna across the Alaskan wilderness, shuttling the locals. Then, in 2012, state troopers found some Budweiser tucked in a passenger’s luggage. Ken and the passenger were charged with misdemeanors, fined $1,500 and sentenced to three days in jail. But that wasn’t enough for Alaska. For the past 14 years, the state has fought to take Ken’s plane too, as additional punishment for a passenger’s beer.

Lettuce grown in central Mexico that was used by multiple Taco Bell locations has been identified as the source of a Cyclospora outbreak that has sickened Americans across the country.
A recall of the lettuce was announced by Taylor Farms, which posted a notice on the website of the Food and Drug Administration.
“The company has stopped receiving product from the implicated lot, suspended distribution of the iceberg lettuce from Central Mexico, notified our customers, and we are continuing to work with the FDA, CDC, and state authorities,” Taylor Farms wrote in its notice.

Mention the name Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) in conservative circles, and the immediate response is far more often than not barely suppressed laughter. A bulging-eyed birdbrain, a nit lacking the intelligence to be witted featherweight, useful for mocking alone. Did you hear what she just said about her fellow progressives’ current pet fantasy regarding eliminating the Senate? Did you catch her trying to assume a Southern accent? And on and on. How can anyone take her seriously? Surely no serious political mind does.

A great description of what will happen if these monsters get their way. I just don't understand how this author went from being a member of the DSA to being so clear-headed. (Though I myself went through a similar change decades ago.}
