Larry Krasner ‘finds out’

Original Article

District Attorney Larry Krasner is something of a bargain for Philadelphia. According to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, he has not only been serving as the city’s prosecutor but effectively as its top public defender. Krasner’s record is the subject of a scathing new opinion, which accuses him of leading a dishonest effort to undermine major criminal cases to engineer new trials for defendants. (snip) In Commonwealth v. Brown, Justice Kevin Dougherty (joined by Justices Sallie Updyke Mundy, Kevin Brobson, and Daniel McCaffery) denounced Krasner and his office for a pattern of misleading and mendacious filings to undermine the criminal cases of murderers and other convicts.

One single "mendacious and misleading" filing should, in a fair world, result in disbarment for this lawyer.

An Indiana University professor who presented the slogan "Make America Great Again" as a form of white supremacy that is "worse than police killing people of color" is no longer employed at the institution. In a graduate-level course, "Diversity, Human Rights and Social Justice," instructor Jessica Adams showed a pyramid graphic listing statements and actions that she called overt forms of white supremacy, which included lynching and racial slurs. Alongside these acts was a list of what Adams calls covert white supremacy, which includes the Trump campaign slogan "Make America Great Again"

Unsuccessful 2024 Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris says the word “hope” should be “changed to a verb.” One problem with that. It already is. Hope can be used as both a noun and a verb. Don Lemon, her host on his podcast that appeared over the weekend, did not point that out. But those on social media, where the comment has gone viral, did as the sound bite was reposted on numerous X accounts. “It’s a noun: ‘I have hope that she never runs for any government office again,’” one user posted to X.
