The end of the military conflict between the United States and Iran, and thus the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, through which around one-fifth of global oil supplies flow annually, was hailed as a great success by leaders in Europe and the Middle East on Sunday evening. Congratulations poured in from both London and Paris, the two countries that vowed to lead an international coalition to ensure toll-free, free movement through the Strait of Hormuz once the war ended. British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said in a statement: “I warmly welcome today’s agreement reached between the United States and Iran.

You like Starmer? Just wait for Macron to claim that France was responsible for the success. Followed by the other G7 clowns.

The House Oversight Committee announced Friday that it would investigate a nonprofit linked to an anti-Trump activist for possible violations of tax laws. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., announced that his committee would be investigating former Ambassador Norm Eisen’s nonprofit, State Democracy Defenders Fund (SDDF), for possibly using donor funds for private financial interests. Comer said that “The Fund’s most recently available IRS Form 990EZ describes the organization’s primary tax-exempt purpose in three parts: 1) going against ‘democracy deniers’ who break the law; 2) defending free and fair elections; and 3) shaping long-term strategy to ‘defeat autocracy.’

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.) said Sunday that he is “concerned” that the U.S. and Iranian governments have “different” views of the deal that the two sides have agreed to. “I am pleased to hear the memorandum of understanding with Iran to allow the Strait of Hormuz to open has been agreed to. I will be watching closely the ensuing negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program and other matters,” Graham, an Iran hawk, wrote on social platform X. I am somewhat concerned that Iran’s view of the agreement seems different than what the American negotiating team is claiming,” the South Carolina Republican added.

Coinciding with his 80th birthday, President Trump announced that a deal between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran is “complete” with the United States lifting its blockade of Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz and both sides agreeing to cease military operations in the region. Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, whose country has served as an intermediary between Washington and Tehran, said that the agreement will be formally signed by the two parties on Friday in Switzerland.

Spencer Pratt has done it again. Everyone not living under a rock the last few months knows the onetime reality star turned politics on its head with his spirited insurgent Republican candidacy in the Los Angeles mayoral “jungle” primary. The outside-the-envelope element of his effort: the gloriously gobsmacking, galvanizing use of crazily creative and enormously entertaining social media ads — both by Pratt’s team and independent influencers. The vignettes leveraged artificial intelligence and Hollywood-level production values to lay bare the devastation and decline delivered by decades of Democratic depravity in the City of the Angels, now beset by devils on every front.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has been playing hide the ball with the truth about the disastrous and deadly Pacific Palisades fire and the state's culpability in it since it rekindled on Jan. 7, 2025. This week, the governor lost another court maneuver in his attempt to deny Palisades fire victims the ability to sue the the State of California. On Friday, the California Supreme Court denied Newsom administration's latest stall tactic, that would have required yet another "review and request to stay the Palisades Fire Litigation," according to Trey Robertson, who represents 4,000 Palisades victims. If the court had decided differently,

The Justice Department's Antitrust Division approved Friday the $111 billion merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery, clearing a major regulatory hurdle for one of the most watched sales in recent years. The two companies signed the paperwork for the deal in February, which will see Paramount acquire Warner Bros., but it still needs final approval from the Trump administration before it can go through. The Justice Department told Politico that it has conducted an extensive review of the proposed merger and found that it would not stifle competition, despite merging two of the biggest studios in Hollywood and the media.

Back in 2022, then-former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard got blistered for raising concerns that the United States might be funding bio-research labs with dangerous pathogens in foreign countries like war-torn Ukraine. Republican Mitt Romney – like Gabbard a former presidential candidate – accused her of spreading "treasonous lies" and "Russian propaganda," and many in the news media joined the chorus in a concerted effort to diminish the threat that U.S. tax dollars could one day lead to an accidental virus outbreak from one of those foreign labs. Four years later, Gabbard turned the tables in epic fashion.

He made a terrible mistake for himself, his legacy, and for the country. He had said that he would not run again. And counterfactual narratives are always a bit tricky,” Clinton began

Say what you want about Democrats, but they sure know how to stick to their talking points. When the IPO for SpaceX made Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire, Democrats were primed. Almost in unison, they cried about how “Americans are struggling to pay for groceries and gas,” how the economy “is rigged,” and how the rich “don’t pay their fair share of taxes.” It’s all out of the politics-of-envy handbook. But the latter claim is particularly galling, especially when it’s being made by lawmakers who know better. Ohio Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman, for example, penned an op-ed complaining about how

As I wrote last week, public schools are depopulating on a large scale for a variety of reasons, including a declining birth rate, the fact that many of them don’t offer a worthy product, the advancement of school choice, and others. Colleges are faring even worse for many of the same reasons. In January, Arthur Levine, president of Brandeis University, asserted that 20 percent to 25 percent of colleges will close in the coming years. Similarly, the Hechinger Report projects that 442 of the nation’s 1,700 private, nonprofit four-year colleges and universities, representing 670,000 students, are at risk of closing or merging over the next 10 years.
