Taxpayers could be left with a big tab if the Obama Presidential Center experiences financial trouble because its foundation has not yet established a promised $470 million safety net to guard against a public bailout.
That according a Fox News Digital investigation of the center’s finances as Chicago awaits its grand opening on Friday, June 19.
The outlet’s investigation, published Saturday, found that “multiple contractors and subcontractors claiming losses ranging from hundreds of thousands of dollars to millions on the project, with some alleging they remain locked in payment disputes and face financial ruin…”

The US and Iran have reached a peace deal to end their three-and-a-half-month-old war, President Trump announced Sunday evening.
The Strait of Hormuz, which carries 20% of the world’s oil, is set to reopen on Friday when a deal is signed in Switzerland, officials said.
“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”

Iranian military leaders celebrated the news on Monday that the country had agreed to the terms of a memorandum of understanding with the United States to end the current conflict, suggesting that the agreement represented “defeat and surrender” for America.
The message from the Iranian armed forces command center, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, was markedly more belligerent and undiplomatic than the confirmation statements from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other leaders in the civilian wing

After building an ugly, overprice, monstrosity marring the design of a famous Chicago park, anybody surprised to learn that the Obama Presidential Center has failed to pay the help?
Multiple little-guy contractors have told Fox News that they've been stiffed on the payments for their goods and services. According to Fox News:
Concern is mounting that taxpayers could be left holding the bag if the Obama Presidential Center runs into financial trouble, as the foundation behind it has yet to establish a promised $470 million safety net to guard against a public bailout.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced support Friday for closing Texas Republican primaries to non-Republicans, telling delegates at the 2026 Texas Republican Party Convention that “We are going to make it clear that in the future, only Republicans will vote in Republican primaries.”
The statement, delivered during the convention underway at the George R. Brown Convention Center, comes alongside long-standing Texas GOP platform goals of ending the state’s open primary system. Abbott’s endorsement comes as the party seeks greater control over its nominating process following the March 3, 2026, primaries and recent runoffs.

Fox Corp. has agreed to buy the streaming pioneer Roku in a cash-and-stock deal valued at approximately $22 billion, including debt.
Roku will continue to be run as an open, partner-friendly platform, the companies said Monday, and there appears to be no immediate changes that customers will see. Fox and Roku said that the combined company will become the third-largest player in U.S. television by share of viewing.
Media reports had surfaced on Friday that Roku was looking at its strategic options, including a possible sale. Speculation was rampant as to which companies might be interested in an acquisition.

Former Interior Secretary Deb Haaland last week won New Mexico’s gubernatorial primary, with a 2-to-1 lead over her opponent. She’ll be up against Republican nominee Gregg Hull in November’s general election. A lot could happen between now and then. But considering the state's political history, there's a good chance Haaland could get elected governor.
On the American energy scene, New Mexico is the second-largest producer behind Texas, pumping out 2 million barrels of oil per day. Two counties in south-east New Mexico account for 78% of all onshore federal oil production, according to the American Petroleum Institute. The Land of Enchantment is a key player in the American energy landscape.

Say what you want about Democrats, but they sure know how to stick to their talking points.
When the IPO for SpaceX made Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire, Democrats were primed. Almost in unison, they cried about how “Americans are struggling to pay for groceries and gas,” how the economy “is rigged,” and how the rich “don’t pay their fair share of taxes.”
It’s all out of the politics-of-envy handbook. But the latter claim is particularly galling, especially when it’s being made by lawmakers who know better.
Ohio Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman, for example, penned an op-ed complaining about how
